The Popeyes at 402 E. Main Street, Apopka, FL has serious issues. I’ve lived in Apopka for 15 years now. This location consistently has problems with getting customers their order in a reasonable time frame and the freshness of the food served. Last Saturday, July 20th, my wife and 2 grandkids were headed back home for the night. It was 11pm, so our food options in the area was greatly limited. We rolled the dice on Popeyes as they closed at 12AM. We approached the window line around 11:05pm. I used the Popeyes App to select a desired coupon to use for our order. Once selected the coupon code times out in 15 mins. There was only one car ahead of us so this shouldn’t have been an issue. However, the car in front of us waited roughly 7 mins for someone to take their order. The entire time we could hear strange grunting noises coming from the drive-thru speaker.
After a lengthy wait we were finally able to pull up to order. At this time, the manager came on and asked if I could wait a moment before ordering. To my disappointment, we waited and waited, but he never came back. The whole time, his headset was live. The loud grunting and other weird noises continued to come through the drive-thru speaker. This probably should’ve been my queue to pull off. However, it was late and we were trying to get food for us and the kids. With approximately 2 mins left on my coupon code, I finally had to say, “Excuse me. We’ve been sitting here for awhile. My coupon is about to expire.” The manager then came on and asked for my coupon code.
I wish this was the end of this nightmare, but things only got worse. After pulling up to the window and paying, the manager asked us to pull into one of the parking spaces to the adjacent business. The car that was originally in front of us was pulled over there as well waiting on their order. The time stamp on my receipt says 11:20pm. I am not exaggerating when I say that it was a few mins to midnight when we finally got our order. They took so long that our grandkids fell asleep in the back seat and no longer wanted to eat. I walked up to the window around 11:45pm to see what was going on. The manager said, “Oh, we had to cook it.” I was like, Sir, we’ve been here for almost an hour. He brushed it off as if it were no big deal. If that’s the attitude of the manager, what are the employees like? His behavior is definitely not a good example for his team.
Finally, at almost midnight a young lady walked out with our order and the story gets worse. We got home to find that the chicken had been severely over cooked and that 2 pieces of chicken were missing. I ordered a 10 Piece Family Meal, but only received 8 pieces of hot, over-cooked chicken. I was furious to say the least but the location was closed. This location needs to do better, seek new...
Read moreI am very disappointed with the way I felt tonight ordering from this location I have ordered from this location for the last 10 years I am a regular I come in about once or twice a week if not more I come in and I order and they're register girl name julissa I believe that was her name she treated me very poorly I had asked for my drinks and she just kind of rolled her eyes she was not very friendly at all and had no personality I almost feel as if a white female walking in she judged me right from the start as if the next person behind me was a colored person and she treated her with the most up respect as I'm leaving now I'm writing this review because it really honestly hurts my feelings that because I am Caucasian they automatically think that they can disrespect us as if I was a person of color I would have gotten more respect I don't understand this because I have never felt or been treated like this ordering from this location I even took her $5 because I figured that the next time a Caucasian person walks in she might think twice of how she treats them I'm not the type to sit here and write bad reviews but tonight has gotten me very angry. I asked her for a side of pickles which I know you guys do not sell sides of pickles but it was as if she didn't even care she could have put some off to the side for me or something she had no customer service at all whatsoever I don't know how young this female is or how much experience and customer service does she has but I just want to let you guys know that tonight was my worst experience I have ever had at this location the manager here he kicks butt he works really hard and I love this location just because of how well they have treated me people who work at this location from my past experiences has never treated me so poorly like I have been tonight I felt like I was automatically judged as soon as I started to order my food because I am a white Caucasian female the lady that was behind me was a colored female and the register girl jalitza treated her with the most up respect. I don't like throwing color into the mix but tonight it was really obvious and I don't like feeling like this when I'm ordering food for my family and I leave in tears because of my color. And on top of that the macaroni that I had received had about an inch of grease on top was burned and look like it had been made and sat there for hours I just hope the next time I come to this location there is a different female or man working that does not look at people and judge them by the color I have never in my life ordered from this location and felt like...
Read moreThis Popeyes in Apopka is without question the most revolting, unprofessional, and downright embarrassing excuse for a restaurant I have ever stepped foot in. The place is filthy. The service is chaotic. And the so-called “manager” Ryan, if that is even his real name, is an absolute disgrace to the Popeyes brand and to the concept of customer service as a whole.
From the moment I arrived, Ryan carried himself with the maturity of a spoiled child, the professionalism of a back-alley scam artist, and the charm of a traffic ticket. He was rude, hostile, and dripping with an attitude that made it clear he either despises his job or despises the people who walk through the door, possibly both. His language was foul, his tone was aggressive, and his entire demeanor screamed “I don’t care” in a way that should make corporate leadership’s blood boil.
All I wanted was to pick up food for my family after a long exhausting day of work. Instead, I was met with the most appalling display of arrogance and disrespect I have ever seen from someone representing a national brand. According to multiple employees, this man is the manager. If this is the person entrusted to lead the team, it explains everything — the chaos, the filth, the lack of basic customer service, and the sheer contempt for paying customers.
Ryan should be removed from any position of authority immediately. In fact, he should be removed from this establishment altogether before he drives away every customer in Apopka. The Popeyes name deserves better than this disaster of a location, and the customers who keep this business alive deserve far more than being verbally attacked by an unhinged, unprofessional employee who clearly has no business working in hospitality.
Popeyes corporate, if you have any shred of pride in your brand, fix this because as it stands, this location is a stain on your company’s reputation and Ryan is the...
