SPA: 5/5 other services/staff fabulous. SHANNON AND AMBER (front management) CAUSED THIS LOW RATING. After an incredible massage with Geo, Shannon left me in tears. A pubic hair and other things were in my bed. Luther, the house keeping manager and his team was very professional and was trying to get Shannon (the supervisor on duty) to help me. Shannon was resistant and combative. After making me come down stairs carrying all of my bags she had me standing in the front desk, in my pajamas, with oil dried in my hair, with all of my bags as despite me having book the room (that was not cleaned even according to house keeping records). It was not the fault of housekeeping as it showed it was not cleaned. Shannon was combative. She falsely stated, and later told her director over the phone, that she showed me “several rooms and I did not like them”. When I corrected that and said “you showed me one and the chemical odor from the pure machine was intolerable (which she acknowledged when we were in the room together), she actually stated “I am being respectful to you and if you are not being respectful to me then we can not work together.” Luther & Conner’s mouths dropped, I was being respectful. I was at the Mayo Clinic for eye surgeries - I cannot be in a pungent room, my eyes are already red and swollen - I am post op. I asked to call Lorraine as she said to go through her to help me. She refused. I asked who is a manager, she said she is the supervisor. I asked for someone above her and she begrudgingly called Amber although was sure to remind me how it was her day off and will “have to call her at home”. I WAS STANDING IN MY PAJAMAS, OILED HAIR, WITH EVERY ITEM IN MY HANDS. Yet Shannon was sure to remind me of the inconvenience to Amber. I asked to speak to Amber directly, they both refused. I was told rooms were already reserved for other people (who had not checked in) yet I was to accept being without a room in my pajamas after checking in hours prior & spent hundreds of dollars at the spa. I want to speak to an owner. I will say that despite Shannon stating to Conner - “why don’t you come over and see if you can do some kind of magic” and asking Amber “to see if she can access her computer even though it was her day off” - acting as if this half empty hotel was full, the top of the iceberg was her respect comment. I was so humiliated, frustrated, in pain from my eye surgery I did start to tear up. Shannon stated to Amber “oh now she is crying.” I was uncomfortable and humiliated. People who had not even checked in were accommodated over a person who was PRESENT, checked in, spend money & here for medical reasons, w/ NUMEROUS BOOKINGS, including 2 separate rooms for an entire week & more pending. Every relaxation that I felt was gone. Wasted money. Hundreds. After her respect comment I walked over to Conner who was able to find a room immediately, zero drama. I am now drained. I have 2 more post opts (multiple days), 2 rooms for an entire week for surgery, and was going to book my pre-ops and 2-3 post op visits but given the drama from Shannon, Amber, the bugs and pubic in the bed and room (also in the new room) I don’t know if it will be happening. I have not experienced this prior. This is the last thing I need after a stressful year of surgeries. - Luther (& housekeeping), compassionate and professional. This was a “check in” issue not a “housekeeping”. The room I ordered wasn’t ready. Conner (front desk): respectful and very professional. Jake: valet. Professional, compassionate and respectful. Lorraine; solution oriented, professional, respectful and compassionate. I have been here several times due to numerous surgeries at the Mayo Clinic. I have had issues with double charging resort prior. - SPA 5/5 Geo and the staff are fabulous. I ended up going again today (even though I am well over my budget) I just wanted peace given this stressful time in my life & the awful drama caused by Shannon. FOOD: 5/5 pricey but delicious. Bar: 5/5 - always kind, friendly, professional.

We chose an oceanfront room with balcony, and it was lovely to be able to step out and sit outside watching the sun rise in the morning with a cup of coffee. There was always a nice breeze. But be aware that each time you open the slider, the A/C turns off, and when you close the door, the temp resets to the default, not to your setting. In our room, the default was 66 degrees, brrr! The staff was helpful, but not always knowledgeable. We had the Getaway package, and it was only on the last day that we found that full breakfast was included, but only one drink, either juice of coffee, but not both. No one seemed to know quite how to process it, although it all worked out in the end, and the breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend the Getaway package, just be sure to tell the server. It has indoor and outdoor seating, but although it is on the beach, the restaurant does not have a view of the ocean, only of the dunes. But the food is so amazing that it doesn't matter! The coffee room offered Lavazza coffee (love it!), as well as snacks and beverages. The room had a refrigerator which was nice for cool drinks and snacks, and water was included. The pool had comfortable lounge chairs, and the pool bar makes great frozen drinks. But the highlight was the spa. I requested the intense facial, which included a partial massage, which was divine. So relaxing! Best birthday ever, thanks to Debby!

Came for a girls weekend, feb7-9th. We got there 1.5 hours before check in and asked if we could go ahead and park (valet only) so we could walk to get dinner before checking in. We were told our room was actually ready so they would let us check in. We were told to take the staircase up to the next floor to get in the elevator to take to the 5th floor. Large tile stair case with suitcases and bags. We get to our TINY room to find the door open. Our view was of construction and port a pottys. We were told refrigerator was stocked. Waters were free. There was no microwave, a tiny fridge. And the bathroom was so tiny you have to stand beside the toilet to close the door or enter the shower. Room was so compact we had to put luggage on the table. We couldn't find an ice machine anywhere so the bar in the lounge told us we could call the front desk and they would bring it to us. We did this....two and half hours later we decided to just leave and go venture out for food and drinks for late lunch before our reservations at the cat sanctuary. Front desk asked about our ice and we told them to cancel the order as it's been over two hours and we never got it. After returning for the evening around 10pm we found a melting bucket of ice outside our door. Spa. We were told about the amenities and the 22% charge is added to each of our three massages were for the use of spa amenities before and after massages. However upon arrival for reservations we were told we were the last ones of the day. And that we would only have 5-10 min to get dressed and leave. Thus giving us no option to rinse off, enjoy the hot tub or steam room. They also kept the entrance door open the entire time. I paid for the signature massage. She spent more time holding my head up. I specifically told her I had a headache and to please not be aggressive around my head or neck. She then spent the entire time either holding my head up in the palm of her hand and quickly massaging my arms. I actually only spent about ten min or so on my belly. She quickly exited the room and told me about the steam area. But we couldn't use any of that. Why charge us the 22% fees if we weren't afforded the time to utilize them and the staff had already shut the hit tub off etc. We put the do not disturb sign up on our door but they still knocked on the door at 745am for housekeeping. We asked the next day if they could alert staff not to disturb us. Instead the sent text messages at 745 for check out procedures. We kept turning the temperature down, as being crammed into such right spaces, it got hot in there real quick but best we could get was 68. The bathroom fan makes a loud noise but does not function...... It got so steamy in that tiny shoe box that we had to keep the door open..... Which steamed the windows up. I am serious, bathroom so small your knees touch the door if not open or closed all the way. But you have to step back beside the toilet in order to close and open from inside. For the price of this stay, during winter months, this was not the...

When booking for a girls trip this resort appeared to check off all the boxes. The images of the rooms on the site make the rooms appear much larger then they actually are. A cheap basic double bed at the holiday in was much more spacious then this resort. The bathroom was super small. You have to stand on one side of the toilet to open and close the door to gain access to the shower. Two women getting ready cannot share this bathroom space! Upon check in we were told water in the room was free but stocked refrigerators were extra. Well, we had an empty refrigerator. The website has no mention of parking but upon arrival it’s valet ONLY. Adding the do not disturb sign to your door served no purpose as we woke to the cleaners knocking on our door at 7:45 AM! Check out instructions were text on check out day at 8:05 AM but check out is at NOON. No sleeping late at this resort! We had spa appointment on arrival day at 5pm. Three women in our party and two of the three were very disappointed. Ginny was amazing but the other two not worth the money! $170 deep tissue (wind surfer) was NOT even close to a deep tissue. I even requested her to go deeper and she didn’t. She spent 12 seconds (yes I counted) on each foot and didn’t even massage hands or neck. 22% gratuity automatically applied regardless of your service experience. I went in before my friends and one of my friends was done before I was making her total massage time around 35mins. We were not offered any refreshments but saw other women with champagne flutes (website says spa offered light refreshments). The mini cookies that were on a counter were removed before we were done with massages so definitely no snacking after, these ladies were ready to go home! We had ten minutes to get dressed after our massages so no time to use the showers or hot tub. The door or lack of door to the spa exposed us while changing to anyone in the hall including men who were gaining access to the men’s spa side. That was awkward! We couldn’t find ice machines so we called front desk and ordered ice and it didn’t arrive for several HOURS! First morning we had NO HOT WATER for showers! Overall the resort was very pretty, clean and a super close walk to get to the beach and local restaurants. Once you park there is really no need to drive so I give location a five but spa and hotel service a 2! If you are allergic to dogs please be advised this is a dog friendly resort. We happened to love the fur babies but if you have severe pet allergies please be aware.

Edit to add…given a refund for our 22% mandatory gratuity (total of $68). Still charged full price ($170) for less then a 50 min massage with no access to spa amenities and the massage itself was defiantly NOT anywhere near a...
