never. again. firstly, if you're calling, be aware that anyone at the front desk can hear whatever message you are leaving, AND it announces your phone number.
the main elevator was turned off, which was my first gripe. i guess some kids were jumping in it - but then it remained off our entire week-long stay. this became of greater concern when i suddenly sprained my ankle badly enough that we had to rent a wheelchair. which brings me to my next point - how does anyone in a wheelchair get in?! the doors were near impossible to get mine through, and then the other elevators were in narrow little halls even after we were inside!! in Canada here we have buttons near the doors that open them for you. maybe that isn't mandatory in Colorado - either way, be prepared to have a tough time opening the double sets of doors.
the bed sucked. we literally bought a mattress topper for it. no boxspring, just a bad mattress on a metal futon tucked against a headboard on the wall.
two sets of outlets didn't work, one of those being in the bathroom, and the one beside the bed was ticking constantly. the fridge opens so inconveniently that i couldn't have got into it in my wheelchair WITHOUT LITERALLY LEAVING MY ROOM. even prior to my accident, it was a hassle to get into.
not sure if this is in every room, but if you need to change the input on the TV for any reason, good luck. it was a universal remote without that option in our room - luckily my husband brought our chromecast, which allows us to use its remote instead.
there was never any staff at the desk, even throughout the day. i've worked front desk at a hotel and there is no reason to be away from the desk for that long. it was clean enough, is my only real positive, aside from stains on the bathroom ceiling and rips in the sheets (which we discovered after putting our new blue mattress topper underneath).
the hotel at first seems great - lobby looks nice, they had us go check out our room before committing, fron desk rep was quite friendly. but seriously, all the issues we had we couldn't have seen in a quick perusal. my hope is that since this wasn't an Accessibility room, that those rooms would be more considerate of people with mobility issues, but wanted to let it be known that the hotel itself isn't really great for that. the price isn't even worth it. the housekeeping, you don't get - you have to buy your own amenities or use the (paid) guest laumdry. the exchange rate isn't their fault of course but for the amount CAD we spent, we could have gotten a significantly nicer hotel for the same cost. which we plan to do...
Read moreThe room was one of the nicest in which I have stayed in 36 years of travel in the military to over 200 destinations. And everything from lights to TV to hot water to AC worked perfectly. Regrettably, the desk staff and management were among the worst I have ever encountered anywhere.
On my arrival, I was forced to sign 5 pages of forms; I felt as though I were immigrating to the US, not staying in a hotel. In addition, I arrived just moments before 7:00 pm. This may hardly seem odd to most guests, but I was greeted at the front desk by SON who advised me "You are really lucky. If you had been 5 minutes later we would have cancelled your entire reservation." (I had been booked by the Air Force for 8 nights.) When I asked what she was talking about, she told me that "You ought to know we stop checking in guests at 7:00 pm.") They ought to know that on Priceline on which this reservation was booked for me it states, "If you are arriving after 9:00 pm on the day of check-in, contact the hotel directly or your reservation may result in cancellation."
I could not even depart in peace. When my checkout date arrived on 9/4, I had to be out before 10:30 am to be in time for my flight. Yet when I arrived at the front desk at 10:15 am, I found that it was shuttered as nobody works the desk until 11:00 am! Fortunately the Housekeeping Supervisor, MICHELLE, was sitting nearby. When I asked how I was supposed to have a record that I checked out (which the USAF required) and to whom I was supposed to give my key, she told me that I must insert the key beneath the shutter-which, as it was in an envelope in which my room # appeared, would make it simple for anybody to retrieve it and ransack my room. I told her I could not possibly leave my key stuck beneath a shutter, and she was kind enough to take it herself and guaranteed me she would give it to the manager, SOL ROSARIO, when the latter finally arrived at 11:00 am. Meanwhile MICHELLE also took my name and email and TEL# and assured me she would provide these to the manager too. When SOL had not phoned or emailed by 11:30 am, I phoned her and advised her I needed some proof that I had checked out that day and that it was at 10:15 am. Finally she emailed a document indicating the correct date but stating I had checked out at 11:33 am. I then phoned back and told her that she knew from talking from MICHELLE that in fact I had checked out at 10:15 am. Her reply? "I wasn't here when you checked out so I am not writing that." Ironically she never seemed to understand that the desk being unmanned at that time was what caused the...
Read moreCurrently staying here, on week two of three weeks that our family is here waiting on our house to be available. There are good points about this place and really bad points too. Room is newly remodeled. Decent looking furniture, could use a better wipe down prior to check in. The bed was comfortable but nothing to brag about. Brought my own bedding since I knew I would be here for awhile, good thing. No bugs. I always check for bugs on room inspection and didn't see any sign of bug activity. This was a good considering how dirty common areas seem to be, like hallways and sidewalks, entry ways. Bring your own supplies, the room does not come with them. There really is no housekeeping, this is not like a full service hotel. It's more like living in a dorm or furnished apartment. Be prepared to do your own cleaning if you're staying for awhile. Dollar store great for getting cheap supplies you can dispose of at end of stay. Invest in a air freshener, it's a life saver. Room does has lingering smell of cigarettes, but think it's from it being saturated in the hall carpet, walls, etc. Staff was great, and friendly. Haven't had any problems there. Although the keys are very sensitive and have been locked out of room for hours at a time when the office is closed. Hotel needs some larger trash cans by entry ways to help with all the litter left by door ways. Especially if short staffed, maybe this could help. Although I do wonder why other hotel guests are so disgusting to just leave their trash all over the place to begin with. Would be nice if people took care of their own trash. Also beware if you're here for awhile to bring your own trash bags, because you have to take your own trash out. A/C works well, no problems with that during all those 100 degree days we recently had. Lots of storage and closet space. Little kitchen table and two chairs, perfect size for the room. Kitchen remodeled with new appliances and cabinets, new flooring throughout. Bathroom nice too. Bathroom comes with 2 towels, 2 washcloths, and bath mat. They are yours to keep, and your responsibility to wash. Interesting way of doing things. The value is decent for what you get. Just understand what you are checking yourself in to. Have seen multiple people just light up right outside of entry ways, while I don't have a problem with the stuff itself I was surprised people would just stand right by door while families were trying to come and go. It took me a day or to adjust to this place but as far as extended stay hotels go this place is more...
