Honestly? I would put this in the negatives, if I could. We stayed here because my husband previously stayed here a year or two ago when he had to work at the nearby Air Force Base. He said it was clean, practically remodeled and quiet. It is a 180 from when he stayed.
First off, I will say that the staff we have encountered have all been nice and friendly.
HOWEVER, if nearby locations weren’t booked up while we were already in this hotel - we would have left ASAP! This place feels super dangerous and there should be cops or security patrolling the area, IMHO. Our first room smelled heavily of cats and gnarly kitty litter that had not been changed out. I even had the window cracked as much as I could to air it out. Our bathroom towel holder looked to have had mold. Room furniture was practically falling apart. Bed sheets itself was like it was never changed, nor washed. Other people’s hairs in them, lint and dirt - you name it. Anyway, they did move our rooms because the smell was unbearable.
Second room, stench was not as prominent which led me to believe it’s the building. We couldn’t tell if it was drugs that had the cause of smell, or just other guests with animals that never got cleaned out. Our second room in regards to the bed sheets and quality were the same. You can hear everything that goes on each floor: plumbing , door creaks, whispers, etc. Food or substance stained walls and furniture. Burn marks on bathroom counters and the bath itself. First room’s had their fire alarm ripped out too.
The husband is officially fired from anymore hotel recommendations. Although, he still swears that this was not the case during his first stay during one of his military schedule. I will give him that the front desk staff have been great though!
They had us next to a room with an adjoining door. We have a 3 year old who doesn’t know anything about it - and tried to open the inner door to explore it. The person on the other side started cussing obscenities and threats to a 3 year old who was already being scolded on my end on keeping it close.
There seemed to be a ton of illegal activity and soliciting within these walls and within the parking lot. People crowding the stairwells too “waiting” for friends.
It should be highly recommended that the military consider on listing this establishment on a “black list” for military personnel from patronizing due to lack of safety. I have never personally stayed at a “Motel 6” before, but this stay has set the tone from avoiding any further bookings within its chain. I do not get how you can have friendly front desk staff and then have upkeeps of its grounds and rooms completely miss the mark in hospitality. It is like it is a front location for...
Read moreTo be honest this location actually does deserve the 5 stars. Despite the fact that covid has almost all hotel/motel facilities limiting their amenities such as pools, exercise rooms, free breakfasts and such, this Motel 6 still earns its rate, unlike many who have tripled in price and went bankrupt in service. This is the hospitality business after all! In the current pandemic we are facing high housing costs and this location goes over and beyond to give it’s guests the peace and privacy to relax lock out the chaos and uncertainty and get a clean comfortable bed to rest in, full size bath/shower with a little seat in which is really nice. The rooms are fairly large and up to date. This is the only 6 I have ever had a room on the inside of the building, but it gives you a since of security to be able to get in your room late at night in a clean well lit hallway instead of a dark parking lot. They have a really good staff. Such as the friendly but competent security officer on site at night. But what really took this location from 3.5 stars for me to 5 was the ladies in the front! Tanya, Diana, Fia and the new face up front and sometimes doing double duty down the halls maintaining and sanitizing guest rooms, Lisa. These ladies achieve excellence in professionalism, compassion, and an element of true excellence. They are not push overs, they are highly adept, efficient, and polished. Their customer service as a team is a rare luxury in todays world. It makes nostalgic for the days when customer service was top priority and these ladies dish it out. Have a question, guess what they know the answer, have an issue with your ac in your room, guess what they go over and beyond to work something out to meet your needs giving you options that work best for you and keep you from being put out in a sold out region, but manage to work a miracle and get in a better room during ALL STARS WEEK! The entire staff may not be at this level, but so many are, that you wont notice! It says a lot about the way this place is managed, when the staff works as a team and not just some people who bothered to roll out of bed and come to work, just to treat people as annoying intrusions instead of valued guests. The parking lot is large and offers plenty of well lit parking. There are snack machines in lobby that offer premium selections such as starbucks. And every thing is up to date and excepts apple pay. I do need to locate the laundry before I can give a review on that. I will be honest that this location could use a luggage cart of some kind, especially since you come in side to get...
Read moreMy overall experience was disappointing mainly one of the managers and Update I spoke with a manager 6/25/24 at 9:45am after finally having free time to take care of this issue the conversation got very messy after all the talking over me I started to do the same because of the talking over me an power tripping of getting "3 discounts" "I wasn't being held hostage" and there's more but I know the one I got for the room which was right off there website which "there unaware of". As a manager myself for a retail store, im very glad i dont act the way i was treated.
But the 10% off after our conversation. So I know I have 2 discounts so far. It's not worth the stress. It's still 100, but it is what it is.
But to help the next person just request a refund because it's an option. You're not aware of this option, but it's unfortunate you have to give the nice check in people a hard time in order for this to happen.
Room had no A/C, and spending 120 on a night even where I'm from would have had A/C for 85 dollars a night with a loud fridge, microwave, and a bigger TV. But that's in Durango, CO. There is no detergent in guest laundry, and having to call a number that's nowhere to be found on the dispenser. However, the check-in girl tanica on 6/22/24 was super nice she did her best. Housekeeping did a great job, and there were no bed bugs. But no on-site or on call manager, maintenance, or DISCOUNTED at the moment until I'm able to speak to the manager for the inconvenience of no A/C. Which was made very clear the night of. But after speaking to the manager, apparently, it's out of her hands as well. But after seeing tanica get yelled at by 3 people, I felt obligated to stay, so I did. I'm human. I had a heart for her, but being ruthless it was it has to be?
This is confusing because there was A/C in the hallway. But not in my room, so like a normal person, I would have liked to enjoyed having my few drinks under an A/C instead of wanting to having a few drinks in the hallway with the smell excessive smell of dog urine. I'm pretty sure that without the window open and a wet towel, I would have had a heat stroke. So, as of today 6/22/24 there was no A/C in a...
