Archer Hotel Austin has truly transformed my perception of what a hotel can and should be. Having stayed at Archer Hotel NYC twice this past summer, I anticipated a similar experience when I visited Austin. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much the Austin location stood apart — setting a new standard that should serve as a model for all their properties.
From the moment I arrived, I was taken aback by the size and grandeur of the hotel. But, as the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas, and this hotel certainly lives up to that idea. Check-in was seamless, and a staff member personally escorted me to my room, handling my bags with ease and without any expectation of a tip.
The room itself was a revelation. It felt more like a stylish studio apartment than a traditional hotel room, with elegant, thoughtful decor and furnishings that made it feel both luxurious and homelike. The space was impeccably clean — so spotless, in fact, that it felt like I was the first guest to ever set foot in the room. The attention to detail was impressive: complementary water, a wellness kit, high-end shampoo and shower products, and a delightful treat of caramels waiting for me. Wi-Fi was effortlessly accessible, and the in-room Apple TV made it easy to unwind after a day of exploration. I also loved the cozy throw blankets, which added a nice touch of comfort.
One of the standout features of this property is their house car — a Cadillac Escalade that offers complimentary rides within a 3-mile radius. For those needing parking, valet service is available, as is free on-site parking.
The hotel's amenities also exceeded expectations. The gym was well-equipped, and the pool deck was nothing short of spectacular. Covered lounges, chilled water, fresh apples, sunblock, and cooling towels were all thoughtfully provided, making it easy to relax and enjoy the space.
Over the course of my 4-day stay, I continued to be impressed by the quality of service. The staff went above and beyond, with their attentiveness and care evident in every interaction. I never saw a pillow out of place or trash on the floor. Each time I returned to my room, I was greeted by a small, thoughtful gesture from housekeeping — an extra touch that made me feel valued as a guest.
I had the pleasure of dining at AKB, the hotel’s in-house restaurant, and I must say, the brick oven pizza is absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed drinks there on several occasions. My evenings were spent on the patio of my room, which offered a stunning view and the warmth of a gas fireplace, all framed by a huge sliding door that created a perfect indoor-outdoor experience. OK - maybe I spent an equal amount of time in the GIANT tub!
Without question, I would prioritize staying at Archer Hotel Austin over other downtown hotels or chain properties on any future visits to the city. The experience was exceptional in every way, and it has set a new benchmark for what luxury hospitality should be while not feeling over-the-top, and ensuring I felt at home at every moment.
To the Hosts & Housekeeping, I appreciate everything, including the packing of my charger I left in the room at check-out. You made me feel not just at home, but part of the family during my visit, and for that I’ll be forever both loyal,...

From the first person to the last person, Archer's Customer Service was world class. Upon arriving the valet staff was really helpful in showing us where free parking was. We were greeted by Sam in reception who was courteous and very helpful. He asked if it was our first timeb staying with them and because it was he explained everything about the hotel and surrounding area. There was even a free Town Car to take you to any destination within 3 miles.
The room we were given was booked as a Run of House meaning the hotel gets to pick. We didn't like the view from the room and they promptly upgraded us to a King Suite (as a one time courtesy so this can't be expected).
In the room they provided Fiji water and handmade salted caramel as a first night compliment. The room was a perfect size to hang out in. Huge floor to ceiling windows for a great view of Austin's Northside Domain area. A couch, ottoman, desk, wardrobe, and ample closet and drawer space.
We spent an evening by the rooftop pool relaxing, drinking wine, people-watching as they played cornhole and swam. Out there they have a large screen TV on the side of the hotel (you could see it from the parking garage across the street) which had baseball and other shows on.
The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are really well designed. I'm 6' 2" and the rainfall showerhead made showering easy and comfortable. The toiletries smelled amazing!
On two occasions (once each day) we were brought treats from the Second Kitchen (the on-site restaurant) to enjoy complimentarily. One was macaroons and the other brownies. They were amazing! There's a selection of snacks, drinks, beer, and topshelf liquor you can purchase right there in the room. We used, and loved, the Nespresso coffee maker every morning.
I can't emphasize enough, though, the service the staff provided. We were greeted kindly by every single staff member that we encountered. From Sam in reception, Reggie (the hotel engineer), our housekeeper, to a server on the elevator. Everyone was professional and genuine in their courtesy. I was very very impressed.
To give an idea here is how it went with Reggie. We got in the service elevator (which I quickly figured out we could call separate from the main elevators) and Reggie was getting in from the rear entrance at the same time. "Hello! How are you enjoying your stay?" Reggie asked. We replied that it was great so far. "Is this your first time staying with us?" We said yes. "We are very happy to have you as guests. If there is anything you need no matter how great or small my name is Reggie, the Hotel Engineer, and I would be more than happy to help. Enjoy your stay!" We thanked him. Right then we reached his floor and he stepped out saying goodbye. My wife and I just looked at each other incredibly impressed at his demeanor and service. Excellent!
Every single employee had this same air and attitude about them. One of the best hotel stays we've ever had. Every aspect and detail was fantastic. Well done, Archer!

Read moreWhile I brought in my NEW YEAR on new years day at Archer Hotel Austin I was racially profiled by a security guard name Richard. On 01/01/19 I buzzed in the hotel because I forgot my key they had identified me because I've stayed there in recent days I've stayed there also I am a frequent guest at this hotel chain that I frequently blog good reviews about. At this time it saddens me to know that a young African American woman buys the most expensive room at your hotel and while waiting on my party to retrieve me while I waited at the front desk I was asked by Richard what is my room number and was I a guest? I then asked all parties at the front desk did they call security they said no. I then saw another group walk in shortly after and someone else forgot their key but Richard never said one word to them he then within mins he started pacing back and forth along side me and using deragatory language and swearing. My party came and got me within 5 mins I asked was he going to apologise for harassing me. He said no and walked off at this point I felt my safety was at risk and I was humiliated in front of MUTIPLE guest and staff all said nothing just looked, but other guest talked to me before I left and said they felt bad and were leaving as well and help grab my things out the hallway for me. I went up stairs packed my things because I felt so disgusted by what happened and that's when things got worst. I came down and begin asking the clerk at desk for a manager she said none was there and a manager would be in tomorrow so as I waited for her to retrieve the number Richard approached me again and started mumbling to the desk lady then told me if I don't leave he is calling police while I was already leaving I begin recording the whole back and forth. I told you guys have my car. They brought the wrong car then they bought mine he then started recording me he got so close in my face to yell slurs to me I had to put my hand up from him to block him from spitting in my face. I called hotel they said they apologise while that is not enough. Racial bias has to stop and this was very apparent. Now that I can recall when I stayed there on another night Richard followed me to my floor he said nothing it was weird now I look back at it he was...
