Today my darling beau and I woke up late on a Saturday morning, and as we sipped our coffee asked each other "what should we to do today". We had recently found out that there is indeed a Herman Miller store near us and we have been eyeballing these chairs for months now.
It was a beautiful day to head to the Domain, so that we did. We waltzed into the Herman Miller store and right away was greeted by THE most awesome Natalie. She complimented me on my fly af fit, and asked how she could help us today. You see, Natalie was conversational, and informative, but never once pushy like a sales-person. She was real, and listened to every concern and question we had. I didn't feel nervous, or get the feeling I had to fake call my mom to get out of the situation. Whew! She kept focus on the core of our needs and made suggestions, while informing and demonstrating. Natalie is also really awesome because she can run with the best of them at R6, but knows that you have to game AND work at the same time. She never rushed us to make a decision, and even invited others during her demonstration without losing focus on any questions or concerns anyone had. It felt more like we were talking with a long time friend, rather than someone who was just there to make commission. Herman Miller chairs are a hefty investment, and it's often difficult to make those decisions if people are overly pushy.
My beau was ready to purchase his chair after we had plenty of time with them and got thorough demonstrations from Natalie. I expressed that I wasn't in need as much as he was so I would not be purchasing mine today, but she offered to email me a quote of the one I liked most. She also told me about an upcoming sale on that particular chair, and that she would email me when it was debuting. She didn't push further and try and get the sale right then and there, but because of this I will absolutely be back when I am ready for my purchase, and will be asking for Natalie's assistance directly. This gal is HILARIOUS! Please, please, please, if you are shopping in the area for a Herman Miller, go see Natalie. You will not regret it.
Our overall experience was nothing short of spectacular. I haven't really written a Google review for anything, but felt compelled to because she was just that awesome!
P.S. If you go, ask Natalie about...

I went to this store to buy a chair. I was sold a floor model at a discount and was verbally told two things: (1) that the chair would not have the standard 12-year warranty and (2) that the chair could be refunded within a month. This was completely reasonable to me and I bought the chair.
Within the first couple of weeks, the tilt adjustment stopped working, and the chair was stuck in an upright position, so I called the store to initiate a return.
I was told by the store manager that the chair could not be refunded and that the sale was final. This confused me because I was told at the time of purchase I could return it. I absolutely would not have bought the chair if it could not have been returned.
From what I can tell, one of two things occurred.
In either case, what you should do is the same. Be careful trusting this store. I'm not saying don't buy from this store (the chair was pretty nice for those couple of weeks) but you'd be wise to keep up your guard.
Now here's the mistake I made that you can learn from. As I said, I trusted the sale associate when they said the chair could be returned, and I should not have trusted them. Apparently, though, the checkout terminal had the correct terms, and if I had been more diligent I could have caught the mistake. Unfortunately, like many Terms and Conditions pages, I missed the fine print. That is completely my fault. I hope this serves as a reminder to be diligent when making...
Read moreAfter googling 'best office chairs 2020', I found the Herman Miller Embody chair to be a promising contender. I hesitated on purchasing the chair online because it is definitely an investment piece. A few months later, I was visiting Austin, TX for the holidays and just happened to walk by the Herman Miller store and walked in on a whim. Brianna warmly greeted me and walked me through a very thorough setup of adjusting the Embody chair to fit my needs. After finding the perfect settings (trust me, there are quite a few on this model) I was completely sold on the comfort the chair provided. Brianna wanted to make sure the style fit my preferences as well so she showed me all the different fabric, base, and wheel options the Embody chair could be special ordered in. While yes, there options available on the website, there are way more options if you visit a Performance Specialist in the store. Since the chair is an investment, I wanted it to be designed to my personal preferences and was willing to wait the extra time before receiving it. Brianna was very helpful in the store but she also spent extra time looking up additional design options for me based off our conversations. I ended up selecting an option that she sent to me after leaving the store. I am currently waiting for my custom Embody chair but I have to say that my experience with Brianna and the Herman Miller store in Austin, TX have exceeded my...
