Don’t stop here and waist your money. It’s not like it used to be, New owners and they aren’t nice. Came to eat here with my family only to be let down and disappointed with the quality of food. My wife order the hot and sour soup and when she’s half way down she finds about a 4” long piece of plastic the size of a noodle. Prior to finding the plastic, my wife went to pour soy sauce and realized it was so dirty you couldn’t even grab it much less pour it out of the container. Also, we order what was suppose to be plain lomain for my son and they still charged us for chicken lomain $7. Now here’s the kicker to all this- I talked to the manager about the situation and they basically told me that if you eat or even try a bite of the food and you don’t like it and your not satisfied your SOL. We aren’t talking about like the flavor of the food but more less about foreign objects in the food. They told me that i could go ahead and leave my google review and that they don’t care. Well I’m here to help and prove a point about this. Trust me don’t stop here and waist your money. It’s not like it used to be years ago what used to be here favorite restaurant we will never go again. #BADSERVICE #POORATTITUDE

I want to start by saying I like the phö, the vermicelli bowls are usually good, and I’ve only ordered a couple things off the Chinese menu but they were good as well. It’s just the Thai menu items that are awful. The pineapple fried rice has massive chunks of pineapple with no caramelization from cooking and a *lot* of basil (never experienced that elsewhere) but is otherwise bland. The green curry (pictured), I couldn’t bring myself to taste. It didn’t smell like curry at all. I’ve eaten a lot of green curries and I’ve made green curry; this is not a normal color. I did not edit or retouch the picture at all; it’s green-beer level of green. I’ve attached a couple pictures of green curry paste to illustrate the color range that is normal. They, kindly, refunded my money for the green stuff and I will happily order the things that I’ve liked in the past but I will avoid the Thai section of the menu. I’d like to try some of the other dishes; this has somewhat scared me off of that inclination. I asked if they use food dye and they didn’t really answer straight; i just cannot imagine this is a naturally occurring color.

I asked the cashier if I could order a combo that had fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and shrimp and she said yes, and I asked her if that was a lot of food for one person and she said no, that it was enough for one person, I proceeded to pay and I see that it was $27 and it seemed expensive to me and I also left a tip and when I realize that they are bringing me the order they bring me two plates of food, both with rice and their side. I think it is disrespectful that you bring me two plates of food when I asked you for a combo that had everything, I feel that you took advantage of the situation to sell more because two plates of food for one person with the same side is that you do not know how to sell or you are taking advantage. Unpleasant experience, I do not recommend it I will never return to this restaurant.

Oh my goodness. Oddest restaurant experience yet. I wish I filmed it. So my son and I go in to order. We ordered our meals, and one to go. Two minutes later my other son texted me that he changed his mind. I went up to the counter and requested the order to be canceled. I was told that the cook already made it. Two minutes, y'all. I'm not that pleased and asked again for a refund when the order was completed later during our visit. Nope. Ok, fine. I will bring home, and someone can have it for lunch. My son ordered orange chicken and steamed vegetables. He didn't get rice. We asked for a cup of rice, and was told no, as he ordered the steamed vegetable version of the orange chicken. No rice in a Chinese/ Vietnamese restaurant because he received some broccoli in his orange chicken. Dang. How much does a cup of steamed rice cost? If it was too costly for the restaurant to provide, we would have purchased the rice. Okay, so far the experience has been mildly annoying. This is when it gets bizarre. My son and I are poking through the sad little salad that he was served. The celery was rotting, the mushrooms were slick and glistening. The carrots had the white stuff that they get when they are old. Quiet observations between him and me. Suddenly, the doors of the kitchen burst open. This angry woman comes barrelling over to our table. I think she's the manager. She is yelling at us. There is a language barrier, but I think she may be defending the vegetables. I tell her "ok, ok, we are ok here" in hopes that she will go away. She does. We begin packing up to leave. I kid you not gentle readers, here she comes again. She is yelling, there is the language barrier, and her speech was pressured. I was able to infer that she wasn't wishing us a great weekend. The young man from the counter comes to get her. He is clearly embarrassed. I try to get her to leave by waving and saying bye. She does leave, but I was able to catch her saying 'You don't like the food, don't come back. Well on this we agreed. The food was lousy, but how often to have the manager approach you at your table and yell at you? Not once. But twice. I kept expecting someone to pop out and yell Surprise! You've been punked!. That didn't happen, although I am sure the entire incident made for delightful dinner theater. Should you go, please be careful of the angry manager. Keep a bland smile at all times. Let's respect her...

Ordered the food overthe phone. I told that it would be ready in 10 min. Showed up to pick itup15 min later and it was not ready. Waited an additional 15 min and finally it was ready. When I checked my order was wrong they had used rice instead of vermicelli. Instead of remaking the dish they just took the meat and plopped it onto a bed of vermicelli. Got it all the way home and found that they had given straight fish sauce, not the sweet mixed sauce that the vermicelli bowl comes with. So in all I got three meals. One tasted like ginger and lemon but was so over powered by ginger that it was not safe to eat. The 2nd had a teriyaki type sauce and the grilled meat was not seasoned. Should have had the sweet fish sauce mixture. The third also had unseasonably grilled chicken but had a Salty fishy sauce. When I called they said they would refund my order I drove all the way back to the store and brought the food with me. The owner refused to refund or replace the order. Plus I brought the uneaten food back and she put her fingers all in like anyone could eat it at that point........ Don't eat here the only reason they have 1 star is because they can't get a -not remaking a wrong order and just slapping on a bed of vermicelli is just short of dropping food on the floor and serving it anyway. I will be reporting the restraint to the food...

Visited on 9/24 at 630pm for dinner with my BF. We were in Austin for the day and decided to have dinner in Austin. We live in Martindale, so coming to Austin is not something we do a lot as it takes us an hour just to get to South Austin. After having a horrible experience with Fuzzy's just up the road, getting our refund, and leaving with empty tummys, we came here for dinner. This is the 2nd time I have ever had Vietnamese food of any kind. Because I am inexperienced, I decided to go with the same dish I had at Pho 99 last week. I ordered the Vermicelli with pork and egg roll. Ok, so not EXACTLY like the dish at Pho 99. But it was similar. Anyway...the food was brought out fast, service was nice. No one smiled though, and no one went above & beyond my expectations. Because of these 2 circumstances, I had to delete a star from the review. Overall, the experience was good. I would not mind visiting again. This is not a sit down style restaurant like Pho 99. You go to the counter to order, you get your own drink and refills, but you leave the bowls on the table. If you ever stop in, expect to pay about $10-$15 per person. Oh, but I love that they set Styrofoam to-go bowls and boxes near the drink station. Overall, this is more a self serve style restaurant...and there aint nothing...
