The prices were high before but no worries. It looks like they went up even more. $8.00 for the same burger you get at P.Terry's for $3.45 and that's not even with fries or a drink.
My personal meal was $14.25 - Total ($15.43 with tax): $9.25 - Burger (added cheese and bacon for $2.25) $2.75 - Fries $2.25 - Drink
I rarely bring up price unless I consider it absurd so I checked other places to be sure I wasn't just out of touch. For comparison the same meal at 3 other places
$6.10 (-$8.15) P.Terry's #3 Combo $14.00 (-$.25) CheeseCake Factory Americana Cheeseburger and Soda $12 (-$2.25) Hopdoddy Classic w/Bacon and Cheese, Fries, and Drink
Their food is very simple. You can see a person doing the prep-work from the dining area. They are usually making burger patties or cutting french fries. The burger bun is one size too small so gives the illusion that the meat is giant by comparison but is the standard .5lb (Not 2 .25lb patties). The majority of the time they are done a bit more well than I care for but not near enough to make a burger taste bad. (That's hat creek's job). If I were reviewing the burger on taste I'd give it a 3/5. It is very decent but not amazing.
The dining area is set-up like a bbq eating hall. Lots of folding tables with checkered table cloths. It allows for bulk seating so everyone gets a spot but it has several down-sides. Here are the parts I do not like about this type of seating arrangement:
Sitting with strangers staring directly across at you while you both eat. Condiments are in the middle of the table and usually shared between several groups at once. Getting to and from your seat, for the bathroom, soda machine, or to pick up your food you will likely have to ask several people to move to get out of the table row as the chair backs are very close together when occupied. Dealing with other peoples bad kids sitting at the same table as me. Impossible to have a personal conversation.
This your standard burger stand. They have burgers, fries, and shakes. There are a few other things on their menu but not worth mentioning. The price is absurd but there are few choices in the arbor walk shopping center.
Here is a handy list of places to avoid while there(Arbor Walk):
Tino's - Uncovered serving line makes for the top of food being dry every time. Confusing menu. Staff is unclear what the food is made of. Potbelly - Makes subway look good and serve side items in dixie cups. BJ's - All the same crappy food they sell at Dave&Busters as an afterthought to the games is also delivered to this place. Masala Wok - They do not do anything well in here. All food is bad. Despondent staff. Mimi's Cafe - Good service but not much here that isn't from your grocers freezer section. Mediocre.
I had a bug (grasshopper) in my food at Chipotle once and I still think I would rather go there than the above mentioned places.
Want a burger in this parking lot but only have $10? There is a pretty decent cafe inside specs that has comparable burgers to Mighty Fine with several more options and a much...
Read moreI genuinely can't think of a way to make the presentation of these onion rings simpler. Just about the only thing that comes to mind is a disgruntled employee grabbing them hot from the fire and flinging them at me, with my only hope to catch them with my bare hands. It's fitting with the ethos of Mighty Fine, that is, simple and unpretentious, with a delectable stack of onion rings nestled within a barely-shaped squiggle of white wax paper.
The unpretentious and simple attitude so evident in the cavalier wrapping of paper shines further in the onion rings. On the bad side, the battering is uneven, and cracks spread throughout the edifice, like the dying gasps of a doomed planet about to implode. A handful of the onion rings are cracked as well. On the good side, the batter has a unique hue of an Autumn sunset, in a slight shift from the classic golden brown. A handful of darkened bits of seasoning pepper the batter, like a flock of migrating birds desperate to escape the oncoming winter. The batter is, for lack of a better word, flaky.
It should not come as a surprise that the freshly made onion rings at a restaurant with actual picnic tables as seating are greasy. Though not quite soaked to the point of drowning, there's more grease than is to my liking, my initial taste was a tad overwhelming.
This Protective Layer of Greasy Deception is the onion ring equivalent to non-poisonous tropical frogs, who front as dangerous by sharing their bright and alarming color pattern with poison frogs. Though I am personally dubious that a raw frog carcass would taste as good as these onion rings, the principle is the same.
Beneath the layer of grease one finds a moderately seasoned blend in the better, with just the right amount of salt and pepper, complemented by a buttery finish. The onions within are cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of give and just the right amount of onion juices. There's nothing extreme about these onion rings, perhaps with the exception of the grease, but the Golden Mean of Batter and Onions is executed with ease and professionalism.
The menu warned me, before I even ordered, that these onion rings were "lightly battered," and it shows. The batter holds at best a tenuous grasp on the onions, threatening to crumble at any provocation. Shedding abounds, as bits and pieces of the tasty batter violently fly across the gingham table, with Zach admirably dodging as needed. The batter was hard and crunchy, but didn't adhere to the onion enough to mesh.
The onions are as solid in texture as they are on the tongue, maintaining their shape despite being moderately sweated to provide ample flavor. Unfortunately, they are overshadowed by the flaws in the batter.
$3.09 brings a good portion of good rings. As with the taste, these onion rings are solidly normal. They are not extreme, but they execute the classic battered onion ring, with a middling size at a middling...
Read moreWhat an INCREDIBLE place! We were Christmas shopping and wanted to stop for lunch. After doing a quick google search of "food near me" we decided to try this place out... Walking in we were surprised to see it so busy! Their line made it seem like we are at an amusement park-- at least 30 people waiting! The difference here was everyone in line looked happy and the employees behind the counter were all bustling and moving extremely fast. The fact that no one was grumbling because of the wait made me get in line. The dining area was nicely decorated for Christmas. They have open seating at very long tables. Glancing around I saw lots of happy diners enjoying their food and while laughing and talking. What a fun atmosphere! So the line was super quick. To amazing guys taking orders and not once did we feel like it was moving too slow. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything on it and mushrooms and jalapeños. My daughter ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with nothing on it but added cheese. We got fries and soda, and she chose a sea salt caramel shake for a treat. Now here comes a super cool part! You get a little beeper thing and you are told to go sit down and put it on the table... this place is so busy I wondered if getting our food would be stressful. Omg it was a breeze! After getting our soda we sat down and within 4 minutes this cheery woman came over to us and handed us our bags of food. I repeat--- the food came to US! I was shocked. How in the world, in a sea of people, did she know we ordered those 2 bags? It was ingenious! The little beeper has a tracker in it, allowing her to locate us in the sea of people! BINGO! That's why this place is so efficient! There's a surplus of workers and they are all helping one another get you the food in the most efficient way! Ok, now for the food... I've had many burgers in my life. I've found a few good ones and lots of mediocre ones. Well, after all my burger eating, it's safe to say this was BY FAR THE BEST burger I have ever tasted. I can't even compare it to another. Everything about it was amazing. The ingredients were fresh. The beef was juicy and perfect. The bun was just right. I don't know how they did it-- but they have perfected burgers! I suddenly felt sadness bc I couldn't share this excitement with my husband... instead my daughter had to hear me praising the burger and she just didn't understand. Her chicken got 5 stars too, she even said it was better than her chick fil a favorite! Fries were amazing too! Thin, crispy and perfectly fried in peanut oil. My daughter loved her shake too--I was so obsessed with my burger that I had no intention of trying her drink. Bottom line, go here and experience it. I can't...
