The crispy sesame beef was absolutely extraordinary. I've gone there twice over the past 10 days and ate it BOTH TIMES. We also ordered Singapore crispy noodles, and that dish was delicious. This is not your typical Egg Foo Yung Americanized Chinese restaurant. Nope. This is awesome food. It is a little more expensive than the other Chinese restaurants in the area, but you do get what you pay for. There are no short cuts here. There are no cheap ingredients here. They use real Chinese black vinegar, and they use other real ingredients that make for a higher end meal. You know...you can get a burger at McDonald's, and it's a decent tasting burger at a cheap price. Or, you can get a burger at a steakhouse, that uses Angus beef, and it is a hand formed patty that they cook to order...(not batch cooked and waiting under heat lamps.) Well, naturally and of course, you would expect to pay more for the steakhouse burger. It's actually not fair to compare prices because the food isn't comparable. Well, that is the story here. If you want standard chow mein, egg foo yung, and an inexpensive meal, this is not the place. If you want to spend not that much more, and get food that is memorable, and that makes me salivate just writing here about it...well then, this is for you. I love it completely. The only issue was a take out order that I placed for crispy sesame beef, and it got mixed up, and I got home with a different beef dish than the crispy, sesame beef I ordered. It was still outstanding, but that was the only negative. The two sit down meals, when I ordered the same crispy sesame beef, were flawless. This is my "go to" restaurant now. I am spoiled though. I don't want to order something other than the crispy beef, because I am addicted to it. For about 16 bucks and a couple of dollars for white rice...this rocks ! It's certainly enough for 2 people. If I am hungry, I also like to get a vegetarian dish that is all veggies, that I can eat with the awesome crispy beef and it's sticky sauce. So, I can only comment on the few items I have ordered. But when you find perfection, why would you...
Read moreI have been so anxious to get to Bamboo because I have gone to Bamboo in Westford many times and always found it top knotch/ 5 star. I'm from Falmouth and have not found a really good chinese Restaraunt on Cape yet. Well I drove 30 minutes to Hyannis to do some shopping and to have lunch at Bamboo finally. I was offered the bar seating because I was alone. Great. I chose the buffet for lunch. The buffet is set up similar to the Westford restaraunt. I was disappointed when the tray of General Gao was empty. I was baffled when i saw a tray of breakfast sausage. Looked very out of place , almost like a filler (oh we have some frozen sausage in the freezer lets put that out. It's not like sausage is a chinese staple). When I started to eat the food was barely warm (which it sometimes is at buffets. I wander what temperature the food is supposed to be per board of health??) . Most of my choices were very dry, like they were sitting around awhile. I did like the pork fried rice. When I went up to see if the General Gao had been refilled it had NOT. So I snagged an employee and asked if it would be refilled, "yes". It eventually was refilled. And because I stood there and watched them refill the General Gao I found it warm and fresh. So I'm sorry to say that I will not run back to Bamboo in Hyannis and won't recommend it as anything but another OK chinese resteraunt on Cape. So after submitting my 2 star review, i decided to read other reviews. One of them said read your bill closely they put an atomatic tip on the bill. Well I did NOT read my bill closely so I called the resteraunt up and asked if they in fact do that, "Yes we do". Well shame on me for not looking closer. DO NOT DOUBLE TIP THIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR...
Read moreI'll start by saying, my wife and I have been to many Japanese Chinese restaurants in many different states and countries as we like many different foods and love to travel. Last night, 9-17-25, my wife and I walked in around 615-620pm. Our host, tall gentleman at the front door greeted us with a smile and walked us to our table. He, along with the decor atmosphere and cleanliness was the only positive of our visit. Our waiter, sorry I never saw his name and he never introduced himself, he only asked would we like something to drink? Not good. We said yes. Ordered our drinks and appetizers. He came back, we were ready to order and ordered BUT I noticed he was very short when I asked about a specific sushi, not cordial and didn't make any suggestions and I noticed he was ALL OVER, he was very hyper and had many tables. He brought back our food but not my entire order. He came back and still didnt have my fried rice. My wife's house lomein, her noddles were not cooked properly, they were hard. The chicken in her lomein was somewhat overcooked. When my fried rice was finally delivered it felt/tasted as if it were yesterday's fried rice reheated. I stirred the rice and it still tasted reheated, so I left an entire bowl sitting there. He checked if we were ok which was good and asked if we were taking all these leftovers home? I said no thanks. $98 for 2 almost 60 year olds with 2 beers each. I feel it was way over priced for what was below average food. Its a nice book cover for an...
