Used to be one of my favorite places to shop. That changed last week when I made a special trip down there to get a vacuum to use on a job. The item was out of stock with no idea on when it would be back in stock. Then I went back three days later to return a Chinese stapler that had not even lasted one day before it failed and an extension cord that I had bought but not needed and I was told that I had to have the receipt to get credit for the failed product and to return the unneeded product. I'm a member of the harbor freight Inside track club which for $30 a year gets me discounts on products but it sure doesn't get me any kind of help in the service area. Harbor freight could easily look up what I paid for these products but instead chooses to use a receipt only policy that was told to me in the most unfriendly manner. I left the store and I won't be back. I'm also requesting a refund on my inside track club membership. Some of the stuff is okay. But an awful lot of the stuff that comes out of harbor freight it's just Chinese trash. If you're really shopping for good deals on tools keep an eye on Home Depot, Lowe's and Amazon. That's where the best deals are on products you...
Read moreI've loved Harbor freight since they put it in. It's a pick and choose though . Some things are extremely good for the price point. Being an automotive technician for years, I ve learned a lot about tools. what not to get ,what to look for etc... Just recently they came out with a pair of wires crimpers (ICON) that are literally the exact mold of snap-ons with a different name on it. IDK if it's made of different metal but they were $24.99 I believe and I paid $100 for mine off the truck That's a big difference and ever since they started getting the BAUER and whatever red brand, plus all the multicolored tool boxes, fluorescent green! Yes please! And icon brand Harbor freight is really stepped up. They may not have the same 20% off coupons that they used too. but I'd rather have quality. On another note the double a batteries (the blue ones ) you can feel the difference in weight and I watch the YouTube video where I compared them to Duracell Energizer and they actually lasted longer and you get way more for way less price good stuff but you got to pick and choose not everything is great wheelbarrow tires for a fraction of the cost of the hardware store...
Read moreThis is the absolute WORSE retail store I have ever been in ! The employees can not answer basic questions about their products. The employee I asked about the length of time a battery typically holds its charge told me flat out that he didn't know and I'd have to look at the manual. When I asked where the batteries and chargers were, he answered curtly. During our entire discussion his voice and body language told me that I was somehow inconveniencing him. The person at the register was only slightly more helpful, but was still not very well versed on the products in the store. So I ended up walking out without a purchase. This was my first visit to a Harbor Freight Store and my first attempt at buying any of the products they sell. It was my last attempt. If the employees do not know their products, and give their customers attitude, how might the company stand behind their products? Are they quality products? Buyer beware ! I only gave them 1 star because Google requires a rating before I could post. Maybe a half of a star is more...
