Been going to Beaufort for years, and have stayed in every hotel there, from the Hilton to the Quality Inn. Never not one time have I been so dissatisfied. The hotel itself appears to be very well taken care of. The smell of freshness was overwhelming when I walked through the door. The clerk who booked us in was great.I booked a jacuzzi suite to try something different, and the Country Inn seemed to be a pleasing hotel. To start with my 1st room smelled like freshly smoked marijuana, so I was kindly moved to a diffrent room. Walked straight into the bathroom to an empty toilet paper roll. The new room had a dirty towel under the microwave in a cabinet, there were food and candy under the sink in the bathroom, the bed had stains that matched the apparent food stains in the carpet. So the linen was surely not what I would expect a guest who paid for the nicest room type in the hotel to sleep on. With that being said I stepped over to turn on the ac,and to my suprise the grill was missing from the top that covers the coils, the dust was very thick and needed cleaning really bad. The plug caught my eye,the entire receptacle was broke and had a place missing that a child could easily get electrocuted should they stick the fingers into it. (See photos). We are not the type to complain so we shrugged it off and made the best of our first night there. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We left early the next morning and went out to enjoy Beaufort, upon arriving back we walked in to plug up the dead phone and the new braided cord with the fast charging box was gone, I am 1000000% sure it was left draped over the lamp shade,on the table beside the lamp was my wifes bracelet (cheesy) and necklace that was a gift from her father. The bracelet was still there, the cord and box was gone,as was the necklace gone. Needless to say the dirty towel was still under the cabinet, the food and wrappers were still under the sink, and the dirty linen wasnt replaced. I went down and complained at the desk, the nice gentleman explained that the manager would be in first thing in the morning and he would get right on it. Well needless to say as we were leaving, I had to personally go find the manager myself. He seemed to know exactly who cleaned my room and said he would address it with her within the hour and be back in contact with me, as of me typing this review, not one person has made any effort to address this situation. I listened to my wife cry herself to sleep over her necklace, there was no safe in the room so our options were kinda limited. Anyone who reads my reviews will see I'm a positive person who hates to leave a negative review, but this one is very well deserved. I regret not staying back at the Hojo or The Hilton. Please dont waste your money and gamble on not getting what you paid for,and losing your personal items in the process....
Read moreThe first thing I noticed when we got to our room, was that the sheer curtains were dirty and moldy on the bottom part that is above the AC unit. Otherwise, the room was clean and orderly. We had traveled by vehicle for 11 hrs and were very tired upon arrival. We fell asleep pretty quickly. At 1030 pm- I heard our door open. We had used to safety latch, so that when the door was opened with a key, it still made a loud noise hitting the stopper. It did jolt me awake- and scared me. My son didn’t hear it, and thought I was dreaming. Then, after laying there for a few more minutes, trying to make sense of what just happened- it happened again. So, I spent a very uneasy, fearful night- what was left of it. We were there for Marine Graduation, and had to leave out from the room very early. When we returned, our keys did not work. We made the front desk aware of what happened and were given new keys. She said it would be looked into. The other 2 days we stayed were fine. The night before we were to leave, I went to the front desk to ask for late check out- so that we could bring our Marine back to the room to change his clothing before hitting the road. I was told that we could stay until 12 noon( normal check out is 11) My son also had asked about late check out, and was told ok. The morning of checkout- after the graduation-Our key did not work, so I went to the front desk (11:05 am) to reaffirm that we would be out by noon, and that clerk proceeded- VERY RUDELY- to tell me, that there is NO late checkout. And she wanted to know how much longer I wanted to stay for. I told her that I did not plan on staying any longer that the 12 noon late check out. She then started badmouthing the other clerk that told us we could stay until noon . I repeated several times that I was told we could stay until noon- and that how would I know if she had given us incorrect information. Our belongings were still In our room- finally, she said, well how much time do you need?. I told her we would be out in 10 minutes. She then made a key so we could get in. He changed, put our stuff in the car- and I went to check out. She did something on the computer and said- ok- you’re good. I said, I would like a receipt please. She printed it for me.
Seriously- I overlooked the curtains- didn’t make a deal of it. I even can understand how maybe keys were made incorrectly- training- whatever- but the check out clerk was EXTREMELY RUDE. No excuse for that. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor would I ever stay there again. I feel like this place should not be recommended to the Military and...
Read moreIt took me 20 mins standing at the front desk after already booking online to get my keys because she said the internet service is always slow. The smell of the room was absolutely horrific inside. There was someone else’s hair all on the beds and in the bathroom. The fridge made a noise all night long that sounded like it was also wanting to run away. I was traveling as I usually do with my two children and had just drive 8 hours so I was extremely tired making it unsafe to drive further. We review and stay at multiple hotels/resorts in many states and this was by far THE ABSOLUTE WORST- MOST DISGUSTING place we have ever stayed. the sheets and towels looked like they had been used so much, they were so thin and had piling all over them. I slept maybe an hour after putting our own beach towels on the beds so me and my girls could get some sleep. we left before the sun came up so I can’t imagine how gross the breakfast would have been. the pool is so gross too, ugh. I called and spoke to the manager Chet Patel after leaving when he finally came in and he told me he doesn’t do refunds and he doesn’t care about bad reviews or notifying the health department. that I could post any pics I wanted because he didn’t care. there were used tissues in the tissue holder, shoved back in. the windows are up to the back parking lot by Wendy’s with all night non stop traffic and people meeting in their cars which I can only assume is some type of illegal activity. the curtains are see through so all those charming people could look right in to your room that smells and has more noise than an old beat up car. sleeping in your car would be like a dream compared to this place. I wish I could post videos. The front desk girl told me that the manager and his wife are the ones that clean the rooms so that says a lot right there in addition to his gross comments about not caring. Zoom in on bed sheets to see the horrible piling from overuse and random hairs all over. Ew. We didn’t even use the bathroom because there was a roach in there that I killed. I had my daughters toddler potty in the van that I had the kids use. Only two pictures would upload. I have so many more and a video....
