I received a phone call on the 16 Nov. 2015 and I said I will not be coming to beaufort SC stoke honda because it is to far for me because I have alot of negative equaty on my car around 10 to 15 thousand dollars so I don't want to waste my time. So the young lady transfers me to the sales person (David) I toldhim the same situation about the negative equaty on the 2015 Nissan. can't remember the name.He told me don't worry about the negative equaty I wouldn't tell you to come to the dealership if we couldn't help you out, we can get up to 125% of the blue book value of the car. I said I have no money to put down he just said when can you come in I told him after I drop my kids off to school around 10 am he said make it 1045 am so we agreed and hung up. The next day I get a call for a reminder and wife tells them I will not be coming and hands the phone to me and I told magan I will be there. I had to make a put stop and called magan back told her I willbe running late she said your fine ok. Call back and told magan I am on my way ok. Get there asked for david and get another salesperson was greeted very nice made me and my service dog feel comfortable. Then a Honda factory rep. tells me he won something and I need to follow him so Icam spin the wheel to win something was not excited about it just wanted to get out of the car I have. I was asked what my likes and dislikes about my car and what are you wanting I said a truck if can't get one then a car. He said you know that trucks are more then cars I said Ok then he asked what is your car payment know I td him. What are you willing to have as a truck payment I told him. The sales man gets me a sodaand my service dog water. Then we get to the credit application. Give him the info. He shows me a dodge truck 5.7 red 67000 miles didn't like. So then he shows me the 2016 honda civic First the top of the line then basic then in between one. Isaid I would like to get the gray one but like the red one. I get back inside he told me he will talk to him manger be back. Came back and said did you have a loanwith wells fargo I said yes I had two but one now traded a car in to get the better nissan wife has the same car at first thought it was cool to have the same car. He said ok and goes back. Comes back and tells me that I have alot of negative equaty. I said yea that's what I told them last night. He walks around and goes to his manager and comes to me and said good news we got you approved but that's when I was thinking that I couldn't get the gray honda I could get the red one. The but was I would have to put down 7000 dollars I was very upset I said thats what I had explained the night before. He said sorry we couldn't help you I saidthis was a waste of time and my gas 31 miles. I left call magan and explained to her what happened she transfered me to a manager randy. I explain to him what I was told the nightbefore having negative equaty 10 to 15 thousand dollars. He said hold on let me talk to them and see what we can do. So randy gets back on the phone and says yea you have to put down 7000 dollars. I said I explained to them I have no money to put down last night. He said they covered 9000 of it. Then talking about how much the car was worth and I also said you all are give me the same price that other dealerships gave what about the 125% of the blue book he said up to 125% and told me that I told him that I was only 10000 in negative equaty. I said see you just want to hear what you want. I told him I explained it and repeated the 10 to 15 thousand dollars of negative equaty. He said I am sorry I don't know who you spoke to you. I asked for a person higher he gave me GM number Mr. Lane I left a message. In there system even says has a problem with negative equaty that's why I didn't want to drive that far. Misleading, unprofessional, I had goodfaith in what I was told but just lied to me. I was up front with them. I felt used, I have no trust in them, I am a vet and it is important to have trust, values, swept me...
Read moreUnethical Dealer: Buyer Beware! In a nutshell: Bought used vehicle and they never inspected this vehicle at all or covered up a TON of stuff including two prior wrecks, wrecked the vehicle while in their care, and the bucket of garbage has cost us over $700 a month to keep it on the road. So either they are negligent, or fraudulent. It has taken me a long time to write this review. Just over two years ago we found what we believed to be a great deal on a used Odyssey at Stokes Beaufort. On the lot I pointed out a number of problems before delivery (should have been my first clue), like A/C not working properly, bubbles in the tires (as-in, family vehicle with tires about to blow), no spare tire, front bumper cover was loose, and TPMS light was on. We made the purchase and drove home. The next morning the TPMS light was still on, I noticed the horn didn’t work, and the green “D” was flashing (this is indicative of transmission issues). I also noticed that the front bumper had come loose from the front of the vehicle again. I called them back and they said they’d send a driver to pick up the vehicle and look at the repairs. They fixed a sensor for the trans, all four TPMS sensors and did nothing about the horn or the front bumper. On the way back from Beaufort their driver decided it would be a good idea to text and drive and rear-ended someone with the vehicle we’d now owned for a month but only been able to drive for two days. They left it with me and I had to be insistent that their insurance would cover the damage and deal with the aftermath (and an accident that reduced value and increased insurance). Their insurance did fix the damage, but Stokes did NOTHING to try to make it right or demonstrate that they were sorry. I ended up speaking with the owner after all of this. In a nutshell he said “I’m sorry that happened” regarding the wreck. Regarding the problems, his response was that we were purchasing a used vehicle and “things happen on an older vehicle.” I get that, but I’ve owned LOTS of Honda vehicles and have NEVER had these types of problems and there is no way that many thing would go wrong at the same time if it was inspected. At one point in the conversation he said, “Sir, things happen on a used vehicle, we lost money on this deal with you.” Really? I couldn’t believe that was his response. The fact that you lost money should have NOTHING to do with being ethical or providing customer service. The owner advertises himself as a Christian and even has “Christian” music playing, so clearly he wants people to know that he would never do anything unethical on purpose because he is representing Christ in business. I was simply dumbfounded that this was his callus response. At the end of the conversation he offered to take it in trade for another vehicle on his lot. I asked him how I could trust another vehicle when all of this was going on with the current one and he said they had great deals on new ones. I was in SHOCK! I ended the conversation and debated leaving feedback. I’m not sure why I didn’t. In the time we’ve owned this vehicle we have discovered that the front end has a previous accident (not reported to us), some sort of flooding, and SO many other things. If you average it out, we’ve spent over $700 a month just trying to get this bucket to stay on the road. Then today, I discover that the right rear of the vehicle (remember that tail light that we were told was from a bicycle on a rack) had been in an accident and the FRAME had been repaired and covered up! After finding this out today, I can’t hold my tongue anymore; the list just keeps getting longer for how they completely ripped us off. They are either completely clueless or they are deliberately unethical. Stay as FAR AWAY from this shyster, you’d have better luck at Billy Bob’s used car emporium. As a pastor myself, I feel bad and angry that he is using Christ’s name...
Read more4 Stars, seriously. You people must not care being taken advantage of. Worst place ever, bunch of liars and con-artists. !!! The old 'Bait-N-Switch' tactic. No one has a clue what they really have on the lot. They just want to sell you a new car, so they get a bigger paycheck. Over a month ago my son and I went looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee (under $6k) for our son that was recently advertised through Stokes Honda and was told its not at their location. We were advised by a salesperson at Stokes Honda, and confirmed by the sales manager at Stokes of Mazda, it was at their location. But then Stokes Honda was pushy to sell him a new vehicle, and we told the guy 'NO, I'll never buy a new car" So, we took the two hour drive, looked and couldn't find the vehicle and was informed by the Stokes Mazda staff that they don't have it its in Beaufort. Was told by the sales manager that he thought we were talking about a newer ($21k) vehicle. We were like, SERIOUSLY, Stokes Honda gave them a stock number and everything over they phone. But they too were eager to attempt to get my son, who is a college student and works part time, into a new vehicle. So, we gave it a week or so and went back to Stokes Honda and looked around, since the Jeep was still advertised, only to be told this time that the vehicle was never for sale and they were not familiar with the add. So, I showed their website advertising and they then told me "Oh, it was just sold to someone that morning." Gave it a few more weeks and I get an update telling that Stokes had a Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale, a new listing. Guess what, the same one my son and I wanted to look at! So, I inquired about it and was contacted by three different people. The funny thing is, they all told me something different about the Jeep Grand Cherokee. One person told me it was in the detail shop and too come in and check it out, should be ready in a couple of hours. One person told me its on the lot, he had been driving it for the past couple of days, and it runs in tip-top shape, its an Awesome Deal, it looks brand new! Another person told me that the vehicle never went for sale and it went to the auction. No one could come up with a straight story. Now, its been two more weeks and I get another hit that its a new listing and to schedule a time to see it. The same stock and VIN #'s. I even was called by two different sales people, this morning as I'm writing this, asking me when I want to come in. I even got a call from someone in Customer Relations telling me its no longer available, its been sold. I've asked for them to STOP Contacting me, yet they don't. I've asked that the false sales add be removed, yet they don't. This is a Text book Bait and Switch and if the harassment continues they will be hearing from my attorney and I will go public. I would consider other dealership first than going to this place. My son, who now has a sour taste about Big Name car dealerships said he'll never go there ever again. "Stokes is a Joke!!!" I just wonder how many other people they have done this to through the years?
It's now mid June '17 and they recently called me to see if I we interested in purchasing a vehicle during their great promotional weekend. This apparently stemmed from a advertises vehicle that never showed it was being sold by Stokes Honda. In the past three days a total of 5 people have called me to get me to come in. They do not take "No!" for an answer. Maybe they will from my attorney when they get served with Harassment papers...
Please folks, don't ever consider the...
