DO NOT STAY HERE! ||||FRIENDS STAYED AT THE HILTON NEARBY AND HAD NO ISSUES||||I ignored the bad reviews about management because there were many good reviews. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.|||| We were in town for my son’s graduation from medical school. We had three rooms. They put us all next to each other. ||||One of my daughters walked right in our room and thought it was odd that it wasn’t locked. She looked at the door and saw duct tape on the door frame and on the door itself preventing it from locking. ||||We had to leave for the ceremony so I removed the tape and then realized I forgot my coat. I tried to get back in the room but my key card wouldn’t work. I let the front desk know the situation and they said they would address it while we were gone. ||||We returned a couple of hours later. I asked the front desk attendant if they fixed the door and he said unfortunately we could not get a hold of our maintenance person so we will move you to a new room. We won’t be able to get into your room until tomorrow (Sunday) or maybe Monday! (We were leaving for home Sunday morning!) So he was saying we couldn’t get to any of our belongings (medications, clothes, toiletries, etc). ||||We had dinner reservations and needed to leave but instead we were now dealing with this. I asked about a locksmith and he said no one can help because it’s the weekend. So I called a locksmith myself. He said he could be there in an hour. ||||We go to dinner and my husband comes back to the hotel when the locksmith arrives. The front desk confirms that the hotel will cover the cost of the locksmith. ||||He attempts to unlock the door but was unable to because the deadbolt had locked. He said he would have to drill through the door. My husband said to the hotel worker either he drills through the door or we need to call the police. He needed his medication most of all. So he said go ahead and drill. He got the door opened. ||||My husband moved our belongings to a new room on another floor and came back to dinner. When we returned to the hotel the locksmith was still there! He said they were refusing to pay him until Monday. Which would have been okay but the hotel worker refused to sign the invoice stating that they would agree to pay on Monday. ||||He kept going in the back room and calling his “manager” and would then come out and give more excuses why he couldn’t sign/pay. He refused to let us speak to the manager directly but gave us his card with his number. The number calls the front desk lol.||||This went on for an hour or two. I felt bad because I had called the locksmith and I wanted to make sure he got paid. He was the nicest guy. Very respectful and calm.||||Finally the locksmith said his boss told him if they won’t at least sign the invoice stating they will pay on Monday that he needed to call the police. The attendant still refused so we called the police. ||||They arrived and got statements from all of us and saw our recordings of the interactions. They were able to get a hold of the manager. The police finally got the invoice signed and that was that. (Still don’t know if he got paid)||||My younger son and I ended up staying on the pullout couch in our older kids room because we didn’t feel safe staying on another floor away from them after all of this. My husband shared a bed with his dad in his room. ||||The next morning we checked out and were told they would be discussing this incident with the owner (apparently this hotel is individually owned) and they would get back to us. We did not feel we should be charged for any of the rooms with the way things were handled. ||||I did not hear from anyone so I called the hotel few days later. We were told the hotel had a big meeting about this incident and the owner would call us. Still have not heard from the owner.||||They ended up charging us for 2 of the 3 rooms. And again, still have not heard back from anyone! ||||Let me just say if the front desk guy had been the slightest bit apologetic, empathetic, helpful, and/or friendly I would have felt differently. Mistakes happen. Apparently the room was supposed to have been taken out of rotation because this was a known issue for several days. ||||He should have been proactive in calling a locksmith not me. The manager should have spoken with us directly but apparently refused. ||||I don’t want something like this to happen to someone else who stays here. ||||I chose this hotel because it was the most expensive and looked clean. I get grossed out by hotels in general so Im willing to spend more expecting to get more. ||||I ignored the bad reviews about the new management/owners. I won’t make that mistake again. Like I said earlier, things can go wrong but it’s how it’s handled that matters. ||||In the end, our son graduated! It was awesome! We will never speak of this part again lol! Just want others to beware❤️||||SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND STAY...
Read moreMy husband and 2 young children (4 and 17 mos) recently stayed at this hotel, while visiting family. The room was spacious and clean. We had 2 queen beds and a pullout sofa bed. The pullout wasn't very comfortable, but they rarely are. Our 4 yr old slept on that bed, so it was fine for her. The sofa and ottoman were great! Very deep seat and while a little firm, very cozy. I also like having the desk as a room partition. We could put the kids to sleep and still watch TV without bothering them. The walk in closet was a surprise. It was huge! We fit all our clothes, shoes, and luggage in there. If i had to give a criticism, it would be that there was one "dresser" (it also doubled as a TV stand) with 2 drawers. Only because we were travelling with kids, would I have liked 4 drawers for all our socks and underwear. However, this is probably more of a business hotel, so the 2 drawers are fine for business travelers. The bathroom was fantastic. Bright and modern with a bathtub. The door was a sliding "barn" door. There was plenty of room for all our toiletries with 2 deep shelves. The room had a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. We didn't use the coffee maker, but it looked pretty standard. While there we used the pool a few times. It was very nice, if a little small. We ate breakfast most days. The breakfast was average, but at least hot food was offered. There was also an array of cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and bagels. Parking was very easy. The location of the hotel is also great. Very close to restaurants and shopping, but far enough away that we didn't feel like we were in a crowd of cars/people. Oh! One of the BEST parts of this hotel, is that it has a bar in the lobby! You don't see that very often in hotels that don't have restaurants. It was really nice to get a drink after a long day visiting relatives! Overall, VERY nice hotel, especially...
Read moreWe have stayed at a good number of Springhill hotels and this one is one of the lowest rating I’ve ever given to, here is why:
Interior: standard Springhill decor, simple, and clean. 👍🏼
Breakfast: they have all the standard items, and do get very crowded on certain days and time. 👍🏼
Downstairs bar: rarely open, very inconvenient 👎🏼
Front desk staff: friendly, professional and efficient 👍🏼
Housekeeping: horrible, except the Sunday crew. We stayed here from Saturday- Tuesday July 5-9, on the 5th floor, the only day we received adequate housekeeping service was on Sunday, all the other days we came back to the hotel room, after 5pm, either the room was not cleaned OR the floor was not vacuumed , beds were covered up without underneath sheets were straighten or clean at all. See pictures, that’s the bed after it was supposed to be made. 👎🏼
I believe the hotel management do have all the necessary information to figure out who needs to be retrained on their job duties.
Room: spacious, but…the air conditioning was super loud, even after we lowered it to the lowest level, it is still loud. Had to turn it off at times to get some rest 👎🏼. Body wash run out after 1 day staying, and I guess the hotel probably run out of the wall mount bottles so they gave us 2 small travel size bottles . No body lotion, had to ask for it. 👎🏼
Amenities: there is a gym and pool on the first floor, small but good enough 👍🏼
Location: convenient, next to shopping centers, restaurants and movie theater. Parking was easy. 👍🏼
Next time when I am in the area, not sure if I will stay here, to risk for another unpleasant stay.
Do recommend management emphasize on housekeeping qualities, since it is a crucial element when...
