UPDATE: Came in to have brunch; sat at the bar. I understand the bartender had tables also, but it seemed like she was bothered that I sat there. I waited a solid five minutes before being greeted (just say hi, I'll be with you, or nod your head at me to show you see me, something....). I asked for coffee and water; I've always been given creamer. Had to ask this time, NBD. BUT, I did have to ask for more coffee when I realized that none was going to be offered. I also asked for more creamer with that. I didn't get any, so I didn't drink anymore coffee. I asked for one to go with cream. DIDN'T get creamer, again. I asked again for it. Finally got it. There was a former? employee who was sitting at the bar now, so all the attention was there. But, seriously. Not a great experience. I am actually not a hard customer, but I do have expectations like creamer with my coffee. I don't think that is unreasonable. Just because I'm by myself does not mean I do not matter. I contemplated leaving no tip, but the previous waitress in me couldn't do it.
ORIGINAL: Came in early morning to have breakfast and do some work. They sent me in a booth in the back to accommodate my work which is very nice. However, no one mentioned that they don't have Wi-Fi. So I don't really able to get much work done. The food was good. The waitress was nice however it took 45 minutes to get my check once I was done eating as I hadn't seen her in an hour and a half since she dropped...
Read moreOur first visit was good, but our second time coming there was rough.
Pros: Our waitress, Molly, was exceptionally polite and helpful. She regularly checked in with us, and answered any questions we had. Another pro was that the online waitlist feature was relatively easy to use. The sausage was also a highlight of the meal.
Cons: From when we checked in online to when we actually got to our table was about an hour and 15 minutes, definitely not somewhere you can just show up and have breakfast. The table at the booth we sat in also was clean but very sticky feeling, which was just what the finish on the table was. The biggest con was honestly the food. We got an order of the beignets, the broken egg chicken sandwich and the apple fritter French toast. The gravy was underseasoned, the potatoes undersalted, the marmalade tasted basically just like honey instead of marmalade, the chicken was dry and the breading underseasoned, the coffee tasted very bad, and the apple fritter french toast was at once bitter and too sweet. The entire meal cost us just under $50.
Last time we were here, we had the lemon Blueberry French toast, which was good, but not really worth the price. Honestly, the best part of this place is the staff and presumably the cocktails. It was overall a very disappointing experience, and I don't think we will be visiting again for the foreseeable future. Cute place, food just...
Read moreThis is hands-down my favorite breakfast restaurant in Beavercreek! I’ve eaten breakfast here just about every day for the past few months and have not had a bad meal or experience yet. The servers are all fantastic. They are attentive and take the time to learn their regulars’ names and orders, and my favorite part is that if they see a regular, they take the time to say hi even if it’s not their table. The service is one of the biggest reasons I frequent this restaurant. They are genuinely friendly, caring service is just about impossible to find any more, especially post-pandemic.
The food is delicious as well! It’s a bit on the pricier side, but I believe it’s worth paying a bit extra if it means getting a delicious meal with great service and supporting businesses other than McDonald’s and the massive chain restaurants. Although there are multiple Another Broken Egg locations, it definitely has more of a local feel to it.
My go-to orders are the chicken and waffles, the hash brown Benedict (I ask for it with the regular hollandaise sauce because the hollandaise on the hash brown Benedict has mushrooms and I’m not really a fan of mushrooms), and the sunrise spinach scrambler. If you’re a fan of grits (or not sure if you are), I’d recommend upgrading to the city grits — they’re packed with flavor compared to most other grits I’ve had.
All-in-all, I definitely highly recommend this...
