If I could leave 0 stars I would. Ive never left a review for anything in my life. This experience and customer service has been so bad, Im forced too.
We bought a couch from this value city 6 years ago and bought it with the warranty. If we didnt use the warranty we were to recieve a $330 in store credit. My wifes birthday is 2 days before christmas. We recieved our $330 credit in november 2024 which was perfect. Since my wife is a stay at home mom and we have 4 kids, we dont have alot of money. We really cant afford anything in “value city”. But, we wanted to use our credit.
I went in for the black friday sale, so I could afford something nice for my wife. The sales woman was kind and helped me find a nice rocking chair for my wife, after calculating the credit and the 25% black friday sale, I had to pay $100 out of pocket. which was within my budget.
Heres where it goes south. When I go to check out, they charge me $220. They had taken my cash credit off the total before adjusting for the black friday sale of 25%. which was supposed to be off the sale price. Not off the sale price after you deduct my cash credit. So instead of $100 I had to pay $220. Which I did not within my budget, but I wanted to use the credit and be done with value city.
The pick up date for the rocking chair was 2 days after christmas. which was fine. Then they called 3 weeks later and said it would not be in until jan. 3rd 2025. I continually checked the website after they changed the pick up date too jan. 3rd and it never changed. today is jan 3rd, almost a month and a half after we order the rocking chair. They never emailed or called saying the pick date had changed again. We made plans for the day to pick it up and had to move schedules around to make it happen. I asked to speak to the manager, After being on hold for 25 min they said the manager was busy and they would call me back. They never called back.
So, overall, terrible experience. They were immoral and stole money from me. Then they never informed me of a later pick up date for the 2nd time, not to mention it taking over a month and a half to ship a rocking chair. All of the managers were rude and did not care to help in any of these instances. Absolutely, ridiculous. I still dont have the chair. I will NEVER be shopping at any value city ever again, and anytime anyone is getting new furniture I will make sure to let them know not to get furniture from Value city. Treating familes this way...

On March 23rd I went to this location looking for couches/sofas. Found one I liked (3 seat recliner couch, and a love seat with center console/cupholders) but went home to think about it, if I wanted to pay outright, or finance. Finally decide to buy it outright, so I called the store and spoke to the sales person I spoke to at the store, Megan, she placed my order, took my money, and said that they would be delivered April 9th and I would get a call the day before for a time frame. It is now April 9th and the delivery truck is here, WITH ONLY ONE COUCH! The 3 seat recliner. Understandably livid, I called the store and demanded an explanation because it had now been 2-3 weeks and no one had ever mentioned receiving just one. Well GIRT at the store hung up on me (probably cus I cussed, but not directly at her so, idk, flimsy bones I guess). I called again and this time BRIAN, sales manager, is who I speak to .. apparently a miscommunication happened between them and the hub, and now my love seat would arrive until APRIL 22!!!!! THATS RGHT!!! Almost A MONTH LATER! During this time there was no communication unless IIIIII called them, and to get anyone on the phone it was loooong waits and attempts because no one answers. Finally got my love seat, and I reach out to Brian for my compensation as he mentioned would be a measly 99$ refund because “that’s all they could do” I waited and waited and Brian never called me again, when I tried to reach out I somehow got to “customer service” and after explaining the situation they instantly issued the refund. But no extra compensation was given or offered for my time , even after THAT WHOLE COMPANY dropped the ball..
In short Amazon has better prices and comes with instructions, and after watching these delivery people put this together, any dummy can do it too. This is why big box stores are going out of business, what’s the point of going through this bad experience, I would’ve got my couch faster if I had bought online. AND SAVED 300$.

Read moreWe have bought A LOT furniture from here twice. The furniture is good. But when it comes to warranty, replacements, or exchanges this place is the worst! The mattresses have 120 day return guarantee for a different one if you don’t like it. I purchased the protector for it and went in wanting a different mattress within 60 days. They told me in person that they will need to send someone out to inspect the mattress. I told them that is fine. Someone was supposed to call. They never did, it has now been a year! Then we purchased the warranty on all of our furniture. One of our night stands was damaged and covered under warranty. I contacted the third party warranty company and they were actually great. They sent someone out to repair it within a week. They reported that it was not repairable and that we need to get a replacement from the store. I contacted the store, they said they no longer make the set anymore. But we can get a replacement of like kind to choose from the store. I called them and they said it would take about a week or so and they would call me. No phone call. I called again about 2 weeks later. Same thing, they will call me when they receive the report. Never called me again! I called them AGAIN for the third time (it is not almost 2 months at this point). They said on the phone it can take 4 days to a week to get the report. I told the girl on the phone it has been almost two months. In a very annoyed voice she said hang on. She went away for about 5 minutes and then hung up on me! It was a very confusing process to get this furniture in the first place. Delivery dates constantly changing and mixed up. It seems to me that this company does not want to honor their warranty or guarantee on any products! I will not be purchasing anymore furniture from them.
