I am in the process of moving to a new state and do not want to bring along a bunch of furniture. After trying to sell on Craigslist with limited success (almost nothing sells for over $75 no matter how good it is!), I started looking for a consignment shop. What I found was that very few consignment shops will take older furniture, i.e. anything manufactured more than 10 years ago. The thing that separates AL from other consignment shops is they'll accept older furniture as long as it is in very good condition - no junk of course. I have found the staff to be both pleasant and reasonable to work with. At the end of each month, they cut me a check for a percentage of the selling price. I have found my percentage cut to be very competitive compared to other consignment shops.
