Room cleaning man was very rude and spoke of there being a miscommunication between the office and the cleaning team. Check in was 3pm and at 4pm, we were rudely told that the room was still not ready. The rude, older cleaning man proceeded to close the door in our face with all our luggage in our hands to deny us access to our overdue room. Once all 6 of us were granted access at the door the toilet was not even clog-free and there was no plunger to be found. Had to track down maintenance to borrow their plunger to make the restroom safe and sanitary. Disgusting. Floors were also no installed properly and would likely be added to the list of code-violations for this room specifically at the least. (Room 221). The floors were sweating and leaking at the cracks what looked like dark soda, making it hazardous and unsafe to walk barefoot or set any belongings on the floor. The air conditioner is also poorly maintained and has to be messed with in order for the dial to line up with mode desired, Mechanical failure/poor maintenance. Once the toilet was unclogged and plunger returned, the toilet would immediately resume its normal, unsanitary condition of being clogged and not flushing and being that there was no plunger available. Once these concerns were addressed with the man at the office (man with glasses), he quickly to our room with a chip on his shoulder. He didn't care to give privacy or ask if it was okay that he enter to see the room and the issues we raised. After rudely inserting himself into our room Once we opened the door, almost immediately after showing him the floors he decides to change the focus of his intrusion to the fact that our party is over the limit by 2. I understand how rules work and that we may have had 2 extra guests visiting for a local event (just like our neighbors in 222) but he didn't want to deal with our concerns, so he decided to focus on our party of 6. Our neighbors were blasting music and slamming doors until 5AM, not once prompting management to quiet them down or make sure they only have 4 guests in the room (they had 6 also). We were up early and wanted to start our day right. Instead, management decides to tell us we need to leave by 11am (we were told this at 1020am). A member of my party was frustrated at the management's reluctance to help and their inability to accept responsibility and cater to the issues at hand quickly and respectfully. He lost his composure when asking for clean towels and made the rash decision to throw one of the dirty/wet towels to the floor down from the 2nd story near the man at the front office. Instead of understanding the frustration, office man threatened to call security.
So, if you come here, you need to walk to room before you settle and make sure the basic needs and services are met before unpacking. They are hoping you will ignore or just be too lazy to raise any issues with them. If you do raise issues with them, be prepared to be on their bad side and make sure you're in accordance to their rules because if you complain, they will look for things to complain about you and seek grounds to kick you out, and if you're easy enough, they will keep your money. Thieves.
Fortunately, and rightly so, we received a refund... because it's cheaper than being fined/cited for renting out rooms that don't have proper sewage.
Sweaty/wet floors Insufficient plumbing Management doesn't like complaints

Read moreI'm appalled by the behavior displayed by the female manager or owner when I approached the front counter with a very serious issue going on in their rooms. I booked three nights here, and the first night, I was unable to use the bathroom at all. There is either a major wiring issue or a poltergeist haunting this place. When I flicked on the light and bathroom fan, the light and the fan began flicking on and off NON-STOP. Literally, I could not stop the noise and the flicking light that made me feel like I was about to experience an epileptic seizure or that I had stepped into a rave. Once the light was activated, the rave experience could not be ceased by pressing the button again. This went on all night. I was so exhausted that night that I couldn't address it, and shut the door so I could sleep.
The following day I went back and told the front counter staff what was happening. The two male staff there were apologetic and offered me a new room. I took the key, went in there, only to find immediately upon entering the same "tick-tick-tick" in rapid succession coming from behind the television. I didn't even bother trying the light switch, since clearly the issue was even worse in this room. By this point, I didn't feel safe and was concerned about a wiring issue. Even if this situation posed no fire risk (which I am confident it does,) any reasonable person would not be able to use the bathroom in that condition. I approached the front counter again and politely informed them that I was just going to leave as I did not feel safe. As I was saying this, I looked over and to the right of the counter and immediately noticed the female staff member blatantly laughing at the situation. I was mortified, angry, and could not believe the unprofessional behavior she was engaging in. I was extremely polite and forgiving in how I addressed the staff during this situation, and this woman was completely obnoxious.
This was my birthday. I drove 28 hours from Canada to rescue a couple of dogs from a shelter and make a video of the experience. To have this horrible experience at the hotel completely ruined my plans. I had to sleep in my truck and leave Los Angeles without completing my plans.
I understand mechanical failures happen, but to boldly laugh at your clientele as they try to navigate through your severe negligence is nothing short of unacceptable and appalling.
Royalty Inn: Be advised this experience is being incorporated into my YouTube video on my travel channel where I recommend (and also do NOT recommend) specific places to stay. Treat your clientele better. This was shameful. I've video recorded what I experienced in your nightmare hotel room for the world to see so that no one else has to experience this shameful treatment and poor business practice. I appreciate the male staff being professional in their conduct but the female working that counter just cost you a lot of business with her...
Read moreI wanted to give this place at least three stars, but many things have stopped me from doing so. I have stayed at this hotel about five times over the course of half a year, and every time has been a weird experience. I, of course, could have looked for another place to stay, but I was most familiar with this one and the area it is in as opposed to the competitors nearby.
The price was enticing, and the check-in process was reasonably quick. This is one of those rare inns that will take you as a walk-in and even allow you to check in early if you pay a slightly higher fee. However, don't let any of this convince you to come here as opposed to other slightly higher inns.
First thing is first, the rooms are very inconsistent. Of my five stays at this location, only 2 had clean rooms with no issues. The other three have had a myriad of problems. It could be anywhere from the walls looking horrible, the floor being filthy to the point you don't want ever to take off your shoes, or the A/C just straight up does not work; it is almost as if housekeeping does nothing other than pick up trash and make the bed. I ALWAYS request a non-smoking room, and I have gotten two smoking rooms that were a whole awful experience. When I spoke with management about it, they said those are the only rooms, despite specifically booking a non-smoking room online.
My visit on 9/14 was by far the worst. For starters, they were painting the area where my room resided. As soon as I walked in, I immediately noticed white paint on my shoes that I had dragged into the room. Fine, my shoes are white on the bottom anyway, so if anything, it made them look cleaner. Second, there was SO much noise from the workers and whatever they were drilling or doing outside that it would not let me rest or listen to music. This went on until about 9 PM. Third, the bathroom had a BLOOD STAIN on the floor! It was just a single drop, but this is still a safety hazard! It is unbelievable how this was overlooked when they were "cleaning" the room. One of the towels in the shower was clearly dirty and looked like someone had used it before, yuck. Of course, when I brought this up to management, they said there were no other rooms available, and they could provide a PARTIAL refund for the inconvenience. Having nowhere to go for the time being and not wanting to bait a buddy, I ended up staying in the room despite the fallacies. Sometime around 4 AM, someone's car got broken into outside, and the alarm went off, waking up everyone in the vicinity.
This was my last straw; I am never returning to this location again. I only give it two stars for the rare few clean and polished rooms I had received on my previous visits. The area can be quiet SOMETIMES, but it still will leave an uneasy feeling of dread sometimes, especially at night when you hear weird...
