I don't even know where to start with this review so I guess I'll start off by saying I'm incredibly disappointed in my experience yesterday while purchasing balloons for my daughter's birthday and will no longer be a Candy 4 Less customer. I loved supporting this store and it's a shame I no longer can. I know the store was recently broken into and was trying to show my support, but I can't help but feel like the cost of the break in is now being pushed onto the customers. I believe the worker who was ringing me up was overcharging me on purpose because she thought I wouldn't notice. When I did, she had every excuse in the book to justify her pricing. It's important to note that I did ask the other workers for assistance in trying to understand why she was charging me the way she was and both acted confused by her logic, but they also seemed like they didn't want to step on her toes. I'm not sure if she was a boss or owner, but they didn't want to push the issue with her.
My daughter picked out a 24" balloon and a "So Nice" bouquet ballon pack. I asked what the total amount would be and was told that it would be $36 just for the helium. The list behind the register states that a 24" balloon is $3.49 for helium and a "So Nice" bouquet is $15.49 for helium. I asked the lady checking me out why it's $36 when the pricing behind her says otherwise. She states that she's charging me helium per balloon in the bouquet and goes on to tell me that it has to be a 5 piece bouquet for the $15.49 helium price. At this point I'm confused because there's also a "5 piece" bouquet helium price listed for $11.99. I asked her to show me what "So Nice" bouquet was $15.49 so she takes me to the back where the balloons are and points them out. My daughter picks one out and we go back to the register. She then rings up the helium as a "5 piece" bouquet for $11.99. At this point I'm even more confused and proceed to ask her which "So Nice" balloons are the $15.49 for helium. After going back and forth with her (trying to understand) I just tell her nevermind, I'll just get the 24".
She rings me up for the 24" balloon and helium and it's around $20 which doesn't sound right. I look at the receipt and she charged me for a 40" number balloon. At this point I'm beyond frustrated and ask another worker why I was charged $6.99 for helium on a 24" balloon when it says $3.49 for a 24". The worker asks her and the lady once again makes up some nonsense about it's a larger balloon so she has to charge me more. She points to the 12" balloons and says that they would be $3.49. She also tells me that 61cm is bigger than 24". IT'S NOT. I'm obviously getting no where with this whole situation so I wait for her to fill the balloon, calmly explain how frustrating this experience was, and leave... I went to dollar tree and bought my daughter 4...
Read moreWe came in to buy a couple of Piñata’s, we had high interest in this place because of Instagram and online reviews. Initially, we wanted to go to DTLA because we always find what we want there, but decided on this place close to home. We entered, were greeted and we made our way around the store. We had seen a couple of Piñata’s towards the back that had inflatable balls in them, we picked it out and headed towards the front of the store to ask if there was anymore Bluey themed piñata’s available but before we could ask we were stopped by and older woman who seemed suspiciously eager to take our piñata to the front, an other coworker stated that the piñata we picked out was on hold for someone else… so we were sad as this was the only one we picked out… then they went back and forth on if it was on hold or wasn’t… at the end we left that behind and chose a different one. We purchased a star piñata that had Bluey characters and realized only after that some characters weren’t even from Bluey. Kinda disappointed as we didn’t feel that Mom and Pop hospitality and weren’t fully satisfied with the purchase. 5/10, not highly...
Read moreI was impressed by this store at first. The girl that helped me was so kind and very helpful. My purchase was over $160 in balloons, a piñata, and candies.I was impressed by the variety in balloon colors. I grabbed several colors in different sizes for a garland. As I'm making my garland I noticed the small balloon pack was more of a mustard color vs gold as like the other packs. The next day I went to the store and asked the lady If she can exchange the balloons for the next size up because the color was different. She said no, because the pack was open. I explained to her if I would've known the color was different before hand I wouldn't have opened it. Mindyou, the sign of return policy at check out mentions nothing about the item needing to be sealed. The lady was rude and nothing like the girl that had helped me the night before. Also, the quality of the balloons isn't great. When you first make the balloons it has a nice shine to it. Within an hour of the garland being up the color turned to a dry matte color. And it wasn't in direct contact with...
