That John guy at the front desk is one cool dude. One of the most personable and mellowed people I have ever met. Great customer service and people skills, mature but with a sense of humor. Not only did he go above and beyond to print something for me, but called me when an important package arrived for me. I saw him do the same kind of things with other guests, greeting each of them in their coming and going, while multitasking other issues.
John listens to the customer and picks up on cues, taking initiative to resolve problems. For example, while talking with him, another guest came with an issue with their TV not working. He performed a diagnostic and instructed them on how to remedy the issue. The guest appeared unsure, and John immediately picked up on that and said he would go with them to their room to fix their TV. He excused himself from me politely, and when he returned, continued our conversation.
Glennise is wonderful agent as well. She always has a glowing smile, warm and bubbly attitude, and helped me get the best available rate and extend my stay when I requested with the same rate during an emergency. She is a lifesaver. You can tell she’s the type that does her job regardless if someone is watching her.
Javier is one of the most nicest people I have met. He introduced himself as the maintenance person, but showed me (not just told me) where the laundry room is. He also informed for me to John that I needed to break a bill for quarters, which John provided immediately. Javier shook my hand when I thanked him, such a respectful and humble man.
Denise, the general manager, is a very strong person. Without telling you she’s the manager, she exudes manager already. This a good thing. Denise not only informed me of the rooms, layout, and policies, but spent a significant time talking to me about life at my request. This human touch made it seem like the stay was not just business for her or me.
Hands down, I’ve met the nicest people here. I watched Gary, a member of the breakfast staff, interact with a little boy welcoming his child age appropriate behaviors instead of just ignoring him. His mother was 9 months pregnant, which I’m sure helped alleviate some stress for her. Gary always is on his game, looking attentively for when his service is required, greeting people with a smile and a respectful “sir/ma’am” (though not required for me, as I told him my name to use). He deserves a raise IMO.
I also observed Leslie Ann also waiting attentively to change things, clean, and engage with breakfast guests; helping those Spanish speaking. This is hospitality.
I will forever remember the kindness, care, and general good vibes of my stay here and the people I have met. Lexi deserves also to be recognized in showing genuine compassion toward me, and assisting me in getting certain paperwork, and telling me if in needed anything else, just ask. She remembers my name, which just adds to the authentic “good morning” greeting before getting breakfast. This is refreshing. Thank you, Lexi.

Read moreBEDBUGS! My boyfriend and I booked a room here for an overnight stay in September of 2024. We attended a concert in Bethlehem and then intended to get breakfast at a local spot the next morning before driving to Mannheim for the PA Renaissance Fair.
The room was pretty dirty which made me uncomfortable, but I figured we got what we paid for and we’d make the best of it. However, within an hour of being in the room, we found a bedbug crawling across one of the beds!! We packed up immediately, caught the bedbug in a coffee cup and took it down to the front desk and informed them we were leaving. The desk attendant told us that the previous nights guest had also found a bedbug in that room, but that supposedly they had the exterminator treat the room that day. Evidently the manager is ignorant to the fact that bedbugs don’t just go away from a simple treatment. They are a serious problem that require specific strategies of extermination, potentially thousands of dollars and an extreme amount of stress and energy to recover from if they are taken home to your personal residence. The desk attendant offered us another room, but we declined because one bedbug in one room means they can be anywhere and everywhere in the building.
Unfortunately the rest of our night was spent decontaminating our luggage against bedbugs with isopropyl alcohol (we spent two hours in the parking lot doing this) before double bagging it all in trash bags and putting it in the trunk. Bedbugs are an absolute nightmare that we didn’t want ANY chance of taking home with us.
Additionally, we were unable to find another hotel room anywhere because it was a parent/family weekend at a nearby college, so we were totally exhausted and mentally and emotionally spent from the whole ordeal. We drove around for hours looking for another hotel before finally catching a couple hours of sleep in the car in a parking lot. After we returned home, I spent the better part of two additional days sorting through our things and following a bedbug decontamination protocol to make sure our minds could be at ease that our possessions were clean. It may sound extreme, but I’ve known several people who have had bedbugs in their homes and it is a horrible experience.
The only good thing I have to say is that the desk attendant was fantastic. Great personality, great service. We did get a full refund from the hotel, but that also took multiple phone calls and several weeks to be granted. This, after being told that it would be confirmed with a manager and completed the next day.
What was meant to be a fun weekend getaway for my boyfriend and myself turned into a nightmare because...
Read moreI'll start with the positive. The location is convenient, the price is affordable, and the bed was comfortable. That's about all good I can think of.
The whole place had a bad vibe to start with. Just walking up to the front door there were some pretty seedy looking people hanging around out front, creating a wall of cigarette smoke we had to walk through. The front lobby smelled of cigarette smoke and mold. The front counter was a mess and very unprofessional in experience. The counter was sticky and the floors were dirty.
After we checked in and headed for our room, the filth continued. The carpet in the hallways looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in years. The edges of the red carpet were white from the thick layer of dust and dirt.
We made it to our room and entered. Despite being a non-smoking room, it smelled of cheap cigarettes and fast food. The carpet in the room was cleaner, but there was still a thick layer of dust and dirt around the perimeter. The bathroom was clean, and the bed linens seemed fresh and clean. There was an arm chair and ottoman in the room that was dated and dirty.
After turning the a/c down and cooling the room off we turned in for the night. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we were quickly off to sleep. At 4:30am I heard the door to our room open. When I went to bed I tried to lock the deadbolt but it would not lock. So I flipped the latch over. When the door was opening at 4:30am the latch stopped it from opening more than a crack and it shut back closed. Needless to say my heart was pumping since my girlfriend was laying next to me in bed. Someone had just tried to enter our room while we were sleeping with no knock or notice. I was so angry, but since my girlfriend slept through it I decided to try and go back to sleep and deal with it the next morning.
Short of leaving the hotel during the middle of the night there wasn't much I could have done at the time. There's not a whole lot I can do now either other than let people know not to stay here. I told the girl working the front desk the next morning. She seemed genuinely concerned but didn't offer much than an apology and that she would let management know.
I would expect an experience like this at a $30 1 star motel, but not for $80. I've had much cleaner and safer stays at a motel 6. I do not recommend this...
