I have a plethora of issues to report with this hotel. I only stayed here because it was what I could afford while trying to sell my home in TX. I stayed a total of 4 months. The last month I stayed they tried to raise the rate $500 a month, and this was after I’d already paid a different rate in advance. Then demanded I pay more money to stay my last 3 nights. After over 2 hours and getting multiple managers involved it was straightened out. Where to begin.... I’ll begin with one positive. The room had everything I would want in an extended stay stove top, full size refrigerator, kitchen sink, microwave, desk, bed, bathroom, and cable tv. Now the negatives. 1. The key cards work intermittently and have to be changed often. 2. This is a “non” smoking hotel, but daily I could smell cigarette smoke inside my room. 3. I was under the impression the rooms would be cleaned once a week, they’re cleaned once a month. 4. 20-25% of the washers and dryers are out of service at all times. 5. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night roughly 5 times during my stay. The sound is deafening, and it was always a false alarm. No explanation was ever posted or given. Nor was there ever an apology for how ridiculous it was. 6. The guy that lived above me the entire time has a large dog which he plays fetch with all hours of the day and night with golf balls. He also moves furniture all hours of the night. No matter the times I reported it, he still did it so I just got used to it. 7. The staff were actually friendly except for one employee. To my knowledge there are only 3 staff members that work the front desk. The young guy and the new female are friendly. The other female is ridiculously rude and shouldn’t be working anywhere that customer service is involved. I actually watched her curse at an older gentleman one night who had an issue with his room. No matter how cheap the hotel is, this should never be acceptable. She’s the same person that told me I would not be allowed back in my room unless I paid more money 3 days before I officially checked out. She couldn’t give me an explanation to why I was being charged more because her computer wouldn’t bring up my most recent payment from 25 days prior. She told me that the new girl probably took my payment and that she didn’t know what she was doing. I explained that the young guy actually took my payment so.... She wasn’t interested in investigating or contacting anyone either. The reality is that she’s just rude and lazy and should be replaced. By the way, the GM and the manager above her never felt the need to contact me or explain what the problem was. I also never saw anyone but the 3 employees that work the front desk, and a couple of cleaning ladies at the hotel, so I doubt they make an effort to stop by and confirm how poorly this hotel is operating. 8. In addition to raising the rates, guests must pay for WiFi that actual works now. Maybe instead of trying to compensate for the lack of business by raising the rates, charging for WiFi, and reducing almost 50% of the cable channels just before I checked out, a better service and stay should be provided to paying customers. People aren’t going to pay more for less. 9. Record keeping is atrocious by the front desk. They didn’t have any record of my $5 deposit I made when I got my laundry card. She only refunded my money because I remembered that the deposit was $5. She also explained that the money I had left on my card couldn’t be refunded, but that the balance would be cleared prior to giving the card to someone else. I paid cash to put money on the card and the money left on the card can be verified. Why would the money not be refunded? I asked her to please not clear the money left on the card, and to give the card to the next person that needed one with the balance still on the card. She wrote the balance on a sticky note and placed it on the card. 10. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and the floor is always dirty even after it’s been “cleaned” once a month. I realize this isn’t a major chain hotel that offers all the bells and whistles, but there are very simple things that can and should be improved that cost nothing and would go a long way. I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here. Hopefully someone will take this very honest review seriously and make some much needed changes. I’d be happy to discuss this with anyone that wants to make some real changes at this hotel to provide a better stay for future guests. [Review collected...

Cons: -No refunds, no exceptions (even if you have to leave early for reasons beyond your control). -The whole building has a weird smell. -Housekeeping cleans your room once every two weeks and they don't do a good job. -Each entrance to the building requires a key card to get in and you'd be lucky if your key card works 25% of the time. I received new key cards multiple times, but it didn't make a difference. They need to invest in better ones. -The two chairs in my room were extremely uncomfortable. -For showers you'd be lucky to get warm water for more than 2 minutes at any time of the day. -The curtains in my room did not block the light from outside whatsoever. -Staff could care less about noisy guests - one of my neighbors on several occasions would be throwing a party with loud music on in his room past midnight, and guys would be coming in and out of his room while being obnoxiously loud in the hallway and parking lot. Staff said they would look into it, but nothing was done as the problem persisted. During my stay there were also kids that consistently played in the parking lot and hallway. They would be running and screaming throughout the building and they even threw rocks at one of the entrances (and continued to do so even as I was right in front of them trying to open the door!) Staff witnessed this kind of behavior from the children on several occasions and did nothing. -One week the fire alarms went off at 3 AM on one day and 5 AM another day and the alarms lasted for over 5 minutes. The alarms are extremely loud and it was impossible to fall back asleep after that. No explanation or apologies from staff the following day. When asked about afterwards, they said it was because someone was "cooking." At 3 and 5 in the morning? Really? -Staff is available from 10 AM - 10 PM and if you need help from them any time outside of that window, you are required to pay $5 (even if your key card doesn't work and you can't get in!) -Free Wi-Fi speed is .2 mbps. That's no typo; there is a decimal in front: .2 mbps. If you pay $20 per week for the 10 mbps upgrade, you'd be lucky to get 3 mbps. Whether you have the speed upgrade or not, the connection will drop randomly several times an hour (I used the Wi-Fi on multiple devices and this happened on all the devices, so the problem wasn't on my end). -For laundry it costs $2 to wash and $2 to dry. The washers and dryers weren't very effective. I would only fill them up half way and only about half the clothes I put in would even feel wet after washing and completely dry after drying. -People that stay here apparently don't know how to park their car without hitting something. My car was scratched twice in the parking lot during a one month span. No note or anything was left on my car either time.
Pros: -It seems like staff tries to be friendly, but unfortunately they don't know a thing about hospitality. -Plenty of cabinet space in my room. -The air conditioning/heat in my room worked good. -Extended stay rate (28+ days) was around $41 per night during my stay.
Summary: This place may be the cheapest option in the area, but for all the problems that come with it, I would say that it's definitely worth it to pay a bit more money for a different place. I wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreThis is not a friendly place to stay nor do i feel safe here. We had a phone call just after midnight a few weeks ago... The person calling claimed to be an employee. They tried to convince us to come down and pay a fine for breaking a lamp (there are no lamps) in our room and that the broken lamp was discovered by a maid doing house keeping. Which is not true because I'm a stay at home mother with an infant and we stay at the value place all day while my husband is working an hour away in jersey. We called the front desk after hours line several times with no response. Then we called the police which still didn't seem to get us anywhere. Next day my husband informed Mike and employee about the incident and he said he would let the manager know and that it happens. A few days later we are having issues with a double charge on our account by value place. The manager a woman was very unprofessional, sassy, and rude. She had zero patience. I also ask her about our phone call incident. Of course she had no clue and would investigate. Still weeks later no reply. We have had several issues with payments. We told the front desk upon move in that we would be here till Nov 2015 and we have filled out a form for our credit card to be charged weekly. Yet they call every week asking if we are staying another week (which is okay) but when they tell us they don't have our card on file or that we will be getting a late fee because we haven't paid. Yet, isn't that why i filled out a form (which i have a copy of) for them to charge me every week during my stay?? Clearly, there is a lack of communication or they are simply not organized. I do not need housekeeping, i clean everything by my self. I do borrow a vacuum from the front desk, which is crappy. So now i need house keeping to vacuum once a week. And of course they just come to clean when they want every week. Its not every Tuesday or Friday... Its when they feel like it. Finally, an employee came to my door to day. Knocked lightly. I said, "just a moment" (i needed to pick up my infant). Apparently and employee named Shawn did not hear me and proceeded to enter my room. I haven't even had a chance to get to the door to even see who it was so i was frightened! I rush to the door with my infant daughter to see it was an employee. I had the dead bolt latched so he could not open the door. I get to the door he apologized. He said he didn't hear me and that he just wanted to ask me if i was going to stay another week. Which is funny because he called me yesterday to ask the same question. So why would he try to enter my room without me being there to ask me a question he already had the answer too??? Not only has my stay felt like the staff is literally up to no good, but i do not feel safe here. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. And i will never stay at another value place again. What if he was trying to steal from us because he thought no one was in the room? I don't know...
