This used to be my one of my favorite places to eat, sadly not anymore. The food has been going downhill and is not what it used to be. During the last visit there, my family decided to eat lunch we usually eat dinner here, but we did late lunch early dinner since we were all hungry. During this time my 9 year old went and grabbed 2 crab legs and I mean 2 when we sat down and he was eating them the lady came back and then said we would be charged the dinner rate for him bc of the crab legs. I don't mind paying a higher rate for him to eat what he likes, but just alittle frustrating when one he is a child two he literally had 2 crab legs and three there was no signs or no one said anything like" we are switching over food this food is considered a dinner food, you may eat eat it but will be charged. Also I decided to get sushi and I got so embarrassed because as I was grabbing the sushi the lady was yelling at me and I was having a hard time understanding her, she was saying the sushi was a dinner item, but sushi was out during lunch I had already tried 1 other item from that area, she was so loud that other people were looking at me and watching. I then just said fine fine I'll pay dinner because I was so embarrassed and I wanted her to stop yelling at me and get my food and go. She didn't understand me it took me finding two different workers to finally work this out. Now I was fully embarrassed and they had caused a scene. I ate that plate, while I was eating I heard 4 workers laugh and 1 had pointed in my table direction, and they were speaking in another language. Which I felt they were speaking about me and my family. Which I find extremely rude and disrespectful. After that plate I just left, I felt so uncomfortable. And will not be returning! So basically I paid 5 extra for 2 pieces of sushi for myself and then another 4 for 2 crab legs for my son. Which I wouldn't have minded if they spoke to me respectful and kind and first. Then while I was getting my food I watched a lady use a spoon from another food, and the worker watched her do it, didn't say nothing and didn't clean the spoon or replace it, but just put it right back in the right dish. Which I find so wrong allergies, mixing ugh. So sad this place turned out this way. Very...
Read moreI had the lunch buffet on Saturday 29 October 2016 at 11AM. I was in Bethlehem to volunteer at the Alzheimer's Walk at Steel Stacks and I knew about this fine restaurant from a previous visit back in November 2014.
Located in a suburban strip mall, the Hibachi Grill has plenty of free parking. And it has plenty of seating too. This day was not over crowded which actually provided for a relaxing dining experience. The food was plentiful and hot. I don't go for the fried food, I go for seafood. There was shrimp at the salad bar, salmon and white fish are also included. The only thing I don't like is the orange yuk that is poured on the salmon which kills off the taste. The salmon is great once you soak up the added agent orange with a handful of napkins.
The staff seemed friendly for a Chinese restaurant. The price is great and it's Monday through Saturday. Sunday costs more. I visited their cross-town competitor a month ago and there they charge extra for both Saturday and Sunday. Not at Hibachi. Their competitor didn't even serve crab legs when I was there that Saturday but they charged me extra because it was Saturday.
They play music like most restaurants but is was not loud so I can listen to my own mp3 player with no problem.
Hibachi is the best around for value and the quality of food. I'd come back more often but I live 40 miles away. Enjoy!
UPDATE: 26 September 2018. Still delicious. Wide variety of food to choose from. Friendly staff. Hate the gooey sweet sauce on the salmon. I have to sponge it off with a handful of napkins. Lower the volume of music. I bring my own and don't want to hear yours. That's it. See ya later.
UPDATE: Still love this place and its gourmet food. Visited Friday...
Read moreMy daughter has peanut allergy. 2 minutes after we sat down, she took a bite of a fried chicken wing. Her lips instantly swollen. And she cried and said it's so itchy. I had to run to Walmart for Benadryl. I asked the waitress if the wings have peanuts, she said no peanuts. Then I showed her my daughter. She then said u didn't tell us she has peanut allergy. I said ok I forgot that part but u just said wings don't have peanut in it. They were so defensive and I understood. I had to tell her and other staffs "I m not making a big fuss about this but if u told me your wings don't have peanut then someone in your kitchen is not doing the job professionally. They mix the cooking wares that cook peanut with the ones that don't." Still no one apologized to us, the manager or owner didn't even bother to come over to ask if she's ok. The dinner was ruined. None of us had any appetite to eat. And I kept telling them u need to check your kitchen. Someone mix the peanut into the oil or cookwares. All she said was "no u didn't tell us she has allergy." I was like what's the difference? Even if I told u, my daughter would have still eaten that chicken wing and still got swollen lips and still cried. At that point I just don't want to deal with people being a wise axx anymore. Waitress finally came over and said "ok the little girl eats free. Ok?" I was like I don't care about that $15! U know wat? Forget it...The summary is this place has some unprofessional staffs working there. And the manager or boss...
