Best Western Big Spring ||I requested a 1st floor room and extra bath towels. Upon arrival, they had and honored that request. A big plus in my opinion. ||Front entrance way and lobby is large, clean and provides a welcoming atmosphere. ||Trash bags in garbage cans. I like it. ||Active versus passive vent fan in the bathroom. I love having those but you don’t see many nowadays. ||Bright light over the shower/tub. Very nice. The square light over the sink wasn’t as bright. ||Above the bathroom mirror, the was an open junction box that was not covered. This seems like an oversight on the part of the maintenance crew. (Rm 112)||The shower head had plenty of flow-pattern choices (very nice), but the water volume or pressure was pretty poor. Always take me longer to soap up, wash, and rinse; so I’m running the water much longer than is desirable in these drought days. |(Maybe due to an ongoing renovation)||Lots of ports for charging mobile devices. ||Lots of control over the heating and cooling. The HVAC system allows the fan to stay on even when compressor is not running. My wife and I both like that. But I think it only works on A/C not heat. ||Clean. ||Sofa Chair with a hassock. Great for relaxing. ||The mattress was very comfortable. Not to soft, not to firm. |The pillow rating, like the mattress, is always very personal. They were quite large and I thought I would hate them, but my head sunk down on them just right. I actually liked them. ||Breakfast area was smaller than some comparable hotels, but sufficient enough. It wasn’t too crowded the morning we were there. Plenty of food choices and quality napkins, but the scrambled eggs were not what I call scrambled eggs, more like egg pancake patties. Not so much my thing. ||Room 112 is right next to the elevator. |When used, there will be some rumbling/humming noise. Could be unacceptable for...
Read moreNever again would I ever recommend this please to anyone! Disliked · I booked my room and because I lived in the same town I wasn’t a loud to stay at this hotel. NOW WHERE IN THE SITE STATES YOU CANT STAY IF YOUR LIVE IN THE SAME TOWN! I arrived to check in and and wasn’t able to. If this is a policy it’s need to be put up everyone on the site and a call should have been made to me the day I booked or a day later not the day I was checking in and that’s because I called the day before to check on my reservations and ask questions. I should have been told the day before my check in and not at the time as my check in, because if I would have canceled my reservation the time I was checking I would have still had to pay for the the room but the hotel is a loud to cancel a reservation at the time of check in. That’s isn’t right all! There was no management on site or anyone but a check in person and cleaning lady. The way I was treated because I wanted answers to why they couldn’t call before my check in time or the day before when I called they could have told me but no they waited until I checked in say anything about it and this is because I booked this room 9 days before the day I needed. That means they had a week and 2 days to call me to tell me I couldn’t stay because I...
Read moreThe room I had was next to the office, elevator, and ice machine. There was a lot of noise. Whoever had the room next to mine had the television loud enough for me to hear every word. My bathroom did not have a tub, only a shower. The shower drain didn't drain, because the ceramic tile wasn't installed to allow the drain to function. I took a very quick shower, that flooded the whole bathroom floor. I quickly dressed and notified the front desk. They brought in lots of towels and sopped up all the water. I spoke with the manager who informed me, she knew about the problem, but the owner isn't local, and will not allow the problem to be fixed. I stated perhaps they shouldn't put a guest in that room until the situation is corrected. She stated that the owner will not allow that room to be out of service. I was really angry to find out, they knew about the issue, and knowingly assigned that room to me, and didn't warn me of the problem. Unfortunately, they couldn't do anything other than come in after the flood and sop up the water. I will never stay with them again, and will advise others to choose a different...
