I'm so glad I made the choice to give this location a chance! It has all of the comforts expected of a Hampton Inn but does it with a Texas flare. The lobby is well-appointed, with Texan decor adding to the warmth of the space (the fireplace with consistent photo-ready fire also helps). I appreciate that they provide 24/7 cold water, along with coffee, tea, hot water, and hot chocolate. Given the temperamental Texan weather, its a nice option to have available for free whenever needed/wanted. The pool area is well-appointed, I appreciate the variety of chairs and lounges present, and the picnic area with grills is a great addition for families looking to enjoy the pool! We visited during the Christmas season and found the pool too cold to enjoy, but the hot tub was great for the cold winter nights, very clean, a decent size, and well-heated.
The complimentary breakfast is my father's favorite part of every stay, and he was extremely satisfied with the selection offered, as well as how prompt, warm, and appetizing it was. He was also a fan of the employees in charge of the breakfast, and said they were respectful, responsive, prompt, and friendly.
The rooms were decently sized and well-appointed, I appreciate the inclusion of a dark-colored make-up towel. The bathroom is a decent size and allows you to have space. I do wish that rooms were able to experience maid service longer in the day, and more often, but do not hold the hotel itself responsible for that, I've noticed it has changed with the brand post-covid.
The true reason for this communication is to provide kudos and praise for 2 great employees at this location. Christopher was the night front desk clerk for our stay at the hotel. He was fantastic! He answered any and all questions, was able to provide supplies/towels/amenities as requested, and he was quick to make himself available for service. He was a friendly, polite, and welcoming young face to have behind the front desk, and we loved the chances we got to chat with him.
Kay was the front desk employee during the day and she is an absolute delight! I literally cannot say enough good things about this woman. She was a bright spot every morning, wishing everyone a good morning, and handling a multitude of complex tasks with a smile and an amazing effectiveness. She helped us with check-in and check-out and it made our day every morning we got to chat with her! She provided suggestions on local activities, entertainment, and restaurants. She was knowledgeable and kind, and made our stay so much better. I hope that Hilton can recognize the exemplary employee they have in Kay, she is an amazing...
Read moreIn our most recent stay at this location in early November of 23, I purchased two rooms for one nights stay. At first things appeared fine but as the night went on it turned into a nightmare. The shower was left filthy with dead skin, soap scum and hair everywhere. We complained about the state of the shower and was offered a different room. Due to the late hour and our fatigue, we elected to stay put but and not worry about showering. We went to sleep and we were abruptly woken up in the middle of the night due to the previous guests having wet the bed. My wife woke up covered on one side of her body in urine. Understandably disgusted, she went a second time to the front desk to complain about this new issue. The front desk employee who had offered the other room hours earlier was sympathetic and tried to help. She gave my wife a second room per her request so that she could get 2 hours of sleep. When she came back to our room I was obviously awake and we agreed to just leave. The manager of the property was there but could not be bothered to speak with us. We were offered points to cover the cost of half of one room and nothing else. After a week of emailing Hilton corporate executives, they offered us one nights stay at that location,” no thanks”. Because we had booked through a third party they could not offer us a refund for our troubles. At this point the third party has refunded us for one room and we have yet to get our voucher from Hilton for our single nights stay. I have stayed at this same location for years and this is by far the worst experience there or anywhere. I will never stay with them again as the management does not seem to care about their guests nor the cleanliness of...
Read moreThis stay was an absolute disaster. My reservation was made 3 weeks before arrival. When I arrived, the front desk informed us that the elevators were not operational. They said that they are working on the issue and should be repaired the next day. I arrived on Monday. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor.
There was no previous notification to me prior to arrival about schlepping all our gear up 3 flights of stairs. Not to raise your expectations, the elevators were still not working when we checked out Friday morning! That's the whole week.
Next - the hotel is considered eco-friendly. This means your going to sweat when you get back to the hotel room at 5 or 6pm. The a/c is on a motion sensor that only runs when it detects motion, plus the room smells like mold. The a/c desperately needs maintenance and will run for nonstop through the night just to drop the temp 5 degrees. It was 100 degrees every day of our stay.
There was an issue with the sink not draining. Maintenance came while we were out to fix the sink drain. After the repair, there was a leak under the sink at the p-trap the dripped water all over the cabinet shelf.
Interstate 10 is under construction. I strongly recommend staying at ANY hotel on the East side of the Interstate. To get anywhere to eat in Boerne, you have to drive South on the access road through construction about 4 miles out of your w a y and then do a u-turn and fo back North into Boerne. Total pain and a collosal waste of time! Not eco-friendly!
Stay anywhere else but here! This place is not worth the money. Tried to move to another hotel but none had...
