I will say that the property lived up to TownePlace standards and our room was adequately nice to Marriott's standards.
Although, I had checked in online, the front desk experience was not acceptable. Upon arrival, I was not recognized as a Bonvoy member. The front desk clerk acted as if she was being bothered by doing her responsibilities and was not welcoming or friendly.
I asked about the digital key I had requested online and she said she would provide me one, but I never received it on my phone or app.
For about every question I asked, the answer was qualified with "we are at 100% occupancy" as if this is not a normal thing or something she or the hotel staff cannot handle. I inquired about the extra sets of towel I had requested at the time of my reservation and when doing the online check-in. My answer was she didn't know about that, but since "we're at 100% occupancy" it may take a while to coordinate that with housekeeping- Why aren't the extra towels in the room for our arrival? I asked about a late check-out for the next day. Again, I was told that is not possible because of being at full occupancy. The next morning's clerk granted me this request for 12 noon, even though we left a little after 11:15
A hold of $460 was placed on my credit card for the $439 room charge, even though my reservation email indicated that my card on file was sufficient for the room and any incidentals. At this point, I didn't want to question it further because I wanted to get to our room and relax after a long day watching granddaughters soccer games. I wanted to get away from this insensitive front desk person.
I was paying a premium hotel rate for this full occupancy stay, don't you think I would be provided premium customer service too. This very poor front desk experience by the person I first see upon arrival was unacceptable and ruined a hopefully relaxing nights stay. I did not feel as though I was treated as a valued customer and that my patronage was...
Read moreStayed here twice in the past couple of months. Prior to staying here, I stayed at the Fairfield in Wellington when I've been in town. But, I chose to give TownePlace a try because it was closer in proximity to family that I was visiting and they had 2BR/2BA rooms available. Rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen/kitchenette is a must for extended stays. 2nd visit, we had a nice canal view that was very nice. Beds were comfortable enough, but the Fairfield wins this category! Their beds are amazing!
First visit, I booked a standard room and was upgraded to a 2BR using my Suite Night Awards. Second visit, I booked a standard room and requested to be upgraded to a 2BR, which is typically done for Titanium Elite Members when available. Even though it was available to be booked on the app, they insisted they didn't have any 2BR available. They did upgraded me to a 1BR, which was sufficient for my 2nd visit. They also allowed me to extend my stay twice, without an increased rate or having to change rooms. Verose (I think that's what I read on her name tag) at the front desk was outstanding during both stays....always smiling, welcoming, accommodating and efficient. She definitely stood out from the other front desk staff that I interacted with during my 12 nights at this hotel.
There's also a gentleman that is constantly cleaning, getting trash, etc. He even brought towels to our room One night. Another night, I saw him shampooing the hallway, mopping the lobby and scrubbing the laundry room (cleanest laundry room I've ever seen by the way). He was so pleasant, always had a smile and said "hi." Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but he deserves a raise!! Definitely an asset to have on staff!
Anyway, this will be a go-to hotel when in the area visiting my relative who lives in Boynton Beach. We love the Fairfield in Wellington, but this TownePlace did what it took to earn our...
Read moreAs soon as you walk into the lobby you will smell the over powering smell of the many chemicals they use all day every day. Guess this is to cover up the smell from all the dogs they allow to stay here? There was dog pee/poop/doggy diarrhea everywhere. The carpet in My room had five HUGE spots of doggy diarrhea that had stained it. Made me wonder if they even ever cleaned it?? My room was NOT clean at all. I had to clean it. Every single dish/silverware had food on it. It looked like someone used them and put them back up without washing. The picture in the bathroom had mold all over it. The chemical smell will enter your room and none of the windows open to get rid of it. Room smelled so heavy of chemicals we couldn’t stay there the first night and stayed with our son. Came back to a room that still smelled as there was no way to air it out. The couch was the most uncomfortable thing I had ever sat on?? The bed was just as bad. Service sucks! Ask for towels? They are NOT bringing them! You will have to ask twice, go down and get them yourself. Check your towels before using as I was given towels that were stained with blood and brown stuff?? The pool was really dirty. Breakfast is the same thing every day sausage and eggs. Neither of which were good. If you need to ask this one particular front desk guy anything he makes sure you know that you are bothering him??!! I guess making key cards is just too hard? The hotel next door is full of some very questionable people who will roam the parking lot drinking and smoking weed and other stuff. I would not feel comfortable bringing children here. Laundry $3 to wash and $2 to dry. Must use a card no quarters. Staff is rude! Did I mention staff was rude? Almost $300...
