Service needs work, asked for plenty of time between courses, server didn't tell runner. So, just as we got bread & butter (required 2 trips), entrees came. We had a free coupon for BangBang Shrimp, check came & Jillian, who had coupon from the start, brought it with charge of $10.90 for the shrimp. She kept saying we could relax - she wasn't rushing us, yet we were rushed. We sat family style near the bar. No one was waiting, especially to sit at the high top, family style tables which had multiple empty seats. Food was very good overall. Cleanliness good, too. Next time will get a reservation & regular table in the dining room. Update: 4/17/24 now lowering stars! Ordered scallops & pasta with scampi sauce - server noted I didn't want much garlic, if any. It came out with heavy garlic. I ate a few scallops but couldn't eat any more because of the amount of garlic - server did everything perfectly. However the cook did the opposite, clearly. I was offered another choice of entree but once it came & the charge for the scampi was voided, my stomach hurt & I had to rush to the women's bathroom. It was dirty & needed the tissue restocked. The sink had a rusted drain & was filthy along with a faucet that gave only cold water. Disgusting! I asked someone & was told it was the hostesses' job to check & restock bathrooms. Well, both the blonde & redhead at the podium were way too busy talking to each other to do that part of their job. The manager allowed the replacement of the entree so, because our server is wonderful, professional, excellent at all aspects of her job, we didn't ask to speak w/her mgr.
There are many Bonefish Grill restaurants. If it wasn't for Maya, who is so outstanding, I'd steer clear of this one on Congress Ave. in Boynton Beach, FL. Maya is the only reason for going back.
The scallops w/linguine & heavy garlic/butter sauce should be avoided, as by the evening's end both of us had serious stomach problems.
P.S. I should warn the manager that packing in too many tables at dinner such that there's only one very narrow pathway from the beginning of the diningroom to the bathrooms is against fire laws. In a fire, no one would get out unharmed, except the hostess Gen Z-ers, who were right near the front door. I took a photo of the packed diningroom but can't post it here. Believe me you'd see what a hazard the "greedy" table set up looks like! All seats were filled & it was almost impossible to get to the restroom with servers filling the aisle. Making money on a Wednesday night shouldn't...

Credit where credit is dueâmanagement at Bonefish reached out, and I have to say, their response was impressive. They were genuinely shocked by our experience and made it clear they want to make things right. More importantly, they truly care about improving and ensuring guests are taken care of.
At the end of the day, all we ever wanted was to be seen and served like any other table. And while things didnât go as expected that night, their follow-up shows theyâre committed to doing better.
As I said before, we love Bonefish. Sometimes things just happen, and you have to speak up. Management was likely working hard inside, and unfortunately, we slipped through the cracks. But their response proves theyâre not just about great foodâthey care about their guestsâ experiences, too.
So, if youâre thinking about dining at Bonefish, give them a try. The food is still banging!
âď¸ If You Sit Outside, Bring a Flare Gun
We love Bonefish, but Bonefish Boynton Beach? Not so much. Had a 6 PM reservation, got seated right away outside at a nice tableâgreat start! And then⌠nothing. We sat for 25 minutes without a server, no water, no bread, no acknowledgment that we even existed. We had to get up twice just to ask if someone was going to help us.
By the time our server arrived, we were ready to order everythingâdrinks, apps, mains, dessert, future therapy sessions. Drinks took 13 more minutes to arrive, meaning we sat there for 38 minutes before getting so much as a sip of water. The food? Ironically, the fastest part of the night. Butterfish was excellent, mahi mahi solid, bang bang shrimp always a winner. Mussels? Mehâtasted like they were rinsed off before serving.
Hereâs the kicker: no manager ever stopped by. No one acknowledged the issue. And as we were leaving, the table next to us had been sitting there 20 minutes without service, so clearly, this wasnât a one-off. Unless thereâs a secret âIgnore the Patioâ policy, something is seriously wrong with the management.
Bonefish Boynton Beach, we wanted to love you, but when it takes nearly 40 minutes to get a basic drink order, itâs hard to justify coming...
Read moreI have been dining at this Bonefish Grill location for years. Never ever an issue! The food always on point, service impeccable and an expected wonderful experience. Tonight was horrible. It reminded me of that Seinfeld Episode where George did âOpposite Dayâ except it wasnât funny or beneficial. Our server or the person who decided to show up Mya or Ava , was the worst. I have no clue because she was so unprofessional from the beginning I couldnât even catch her name. Mya or aka Ava was rude, impatient, had ZERO customer service skills and was extremely confrontational. She actually tossed a plate onto the table after I requested a clean one, verbally emasculated my father and tried to reprimand me after I called out the food runner for dropping fresh bread and leaving behind the empty dish. We did order calamari which looked like sponge-Bob whipped it up himself right inside the Krusty Krab and brought it to land and into Bonefish Grill. I wish he brought a crabby patty too for the table. After sitting in a booth for ten minutes then to be unfortunately greeted by MyAva our server after she felt like showing up to our table. Side note đ - Mind this, a spot where a party of 4 showed up 30 minutes prior to the reservation and was seated immediately⌠mmmmmhh Needless to say, it was not busy, so what caused so many hiccups? And where is the server?! -On the glow, the manager Joe was understanding and comped our meal. We left before the food order was completed so Thank You Joe for paying for two Titoâs w cranberry. Itâs unfortunate, that someone wasted their money on a $100.00 gift certificate to Bonefish Grill of Boynton Beach on Congress Avenue. I highly recommend a different location or the manager Joe told me all gift cards can be used towards Carrabbas or Outback so go there...
