Scenic Hills Inn — Hotel in Branson

First off they charged 245 something but the receipt said 213.80 the bank statement said 245.14. Brought it to there attention and they tell me to call my bank, I did, bank told me to take it up with the hotel (this was never resolved). The room itself felt damp, smelled of stale smoke and mold, and the floor left everything that touched it black. The toilet made a weird sound when flushed, the shower head barely worked and the curtain needs replaced. The beds are old and very uncomfortable, the sheets are rough and don't even fit the beds, pillows are just as awful. But all this I can deal with, the worst of it was when I found a xanax bar on the floor in our room and when I brought it to the attention of the staff the man accused me of having people over who must have dropped it. We didn't have guest in our room we were barely there ourselves. No apologies or anything. If you thought it was mine why did you keep it? The man tgat i spoke with was very rude about the whole situation. Thank God I didnt have my toddler or dog with me, because if they would have found that pill instead of me things could have ended very badly. They claim they clean after every guest but if that were the case a vacuum would have picked it right up. Will never stay again for that very reason. They don't care at all about the well being of their guest or guest...

Huge security concern here. I went up to add the name of one of the other members of my party. I was given a key. I said that I don’t need another room key for it. I just want the name on there that way if the key stops working or her key gets lost, she can get a new key. The lady (which was very very friendly) told me that all they would need to do is come up and give my name to get a room key. HUGE CONCERN! I doubled back to make sure she did not misspeak and I said, “so anybody can come up here with my name and get a key to my room.” She said; “well as long as they have your name.” I would have left at that juncture had I not booked and prepaid third party which was non refundable. The next morning which was my scheduled departure I spine with a gentleman at the front desk which wouldn’t identify his position or title. I told him of my concern. Thankfully he indicated that was not their policy and they nice lady was incorrect. He said he was going to address the concern to the staff member. The reason I left 3 out of 5 is bc I think it’s important for incoming guests to double check the policy in case it doesn’t get communicated properly. Also the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good. And maintained well...

We have stayed here multiple times over the summer and have never had any issues. We stayed this past Saturday and received a 100 dollar cleaning fee. I called the hotel owner to discuss this fee, as I do have 4 small children who stayed in the room, and can often times be messy. That being said, my children are used to hotel rooms, and I always make sure the room is clean and tidy before we leave. There is never anything on the counters, and the floor is never in a condition where a vacuum wont clean it. When I called to speak with the owner, he was immediately defensive, and extremely rude. He also told me that I am no longer welcome back. Mind you, I have been a loyal customer and have given this hotel hundreds of dollars over the summer alone. The hotel owner was not interested in what I had to say, and clearly only wanted more money. Do not give these people access to your bank card!!!! Not only will I never go back to this location, I advise others not to visit as well. This is not a family friendly environment, and they will attempt to scam you at every possible turn. I will be leaving reviews on every possible hotel booking site to make sure this is public...
