I wish I could give 0 stars||We were asked to go to an away sporting event last minute in a small town, and most everything was booked or the prices raised to 200+ a night, so we reluctantly took the cheapie deal we got online... We pulled in at 10pm and the front desk guy was rude, and unwilling to let us see the room before paying, got to the room which we found was next to a room packed with men and a strange scent coming from the open doorway. Then they watched my daughter and I haul our things to our room and by the 2nd trip to the room, 3 more doors had opened and more men came out to watch, my husband had to work the next day, so he was going to help get us checked in and head home while we stayed for our tournament the next day, but we were so creeped out by the audience, and the lack of security locks on the doors, that he stayed with us. ||We decided to skip the showers since there was green mildew/mold in the floor of the shower, the room was easily 90 degrees when we got in there, and took FOREVER for the tiny room to cool down, there are no curtains, just dirty blinds (photo attached) and dead mosquitos on the grimy card table in the room and bathroom counter. The "dresser" in the room was a filing cabinet, which is a first for me, It also smelled so strongly of inscence, or some sort of air freshener that now an hour after leaving I still have a terrible headache, and I'm still tired! ||Anyway, I'm glad we got the cheap $36 deal on this dump, but I really would rather sleep in my car next time. This was the worst motel/hotel experience of my life. And we've stayed in our fair share of places since our kids play...
Read moreLIES, LIES, LIES !!! DO NOT STAY HERE !!!||This "motel" should be taken off ALL websites IMMEDIATELY...First of all, I was afraid someone was going to kick our door in and rob us. I witnessed a drug deal in the parking lot from a "neighbor" staying here. It was so dirty and the fumes from the carpet deodorizer was so overwhelming we could not breath. The sheets were stained and the couch was DISGUSTINGLY gross. When I spoke with the "front desk" he was unconcerned offered no refund or solution. I spoke with Milly the Office Manager from the Galaxie Motel a week later. She stated the owner son had initially helped me but he told her I never verbalized any concern, which is a lie. I never once asked for a refund, but it should have been offered, and I was told it would be unlikely for the owner to give me a refund. She admitted that there is a drug issue at the hotel but maintained its "cleanliness" and has never had any complaints. I told her if the local drug addicts were not complaining it did not mean the motel was clean. Again, I am not looking to receive a refund. I want this motel taken off ALL website so travelers like myself do not end up in this same situation. This is a dangerous place and should not be offered as a suitable environment...
Read moreWhen you stay at the cheapest place you can find, you go without certain amenities, and that should be expected. But, what should never be sanctioned or acceptable is the feeling of danger or shady activity. Such is the case with Galaxie Motel. It is apparent that many of the people at this motel live there. There is stuff laying around, and whenever you get a peek into one of their rooms, you can definitely tell they are not just overnight guests. What is more, these people loiter late into the night with their pitbulls, and eye you down whenever you walk past. Not very comforting. No continental breakfast, no coffee maker, bedsheets are thin, not even disposable cups or an ice or vending machine, and the room is starting to fall into disrepair. But this all to be expected at this rate. However, this motel does have some redemptive qualities. The beds were big, the room was clean, and came equipped with a microwave and a mini fridge. In lieu of a continental breakfast, you get 10% off at J&D's next door, which was an...
