I always end up staying multiple nights. Day two I asked for a broom so I could sweep the floor. I was only doing so cause it was my mess and I didn’t see it was necessary for the housekeepers to come in and do a full service on the room so I asked for towels and a broom. I was given towels, but he wouldn’t allow me to use his broom. He said he would do it. I said well my fella is in the room, can I just sweep real quick? He refused to allow me to sweep, so I cleaned up best I could with paper towels and a wet rag. That was very unfavorable. Also, they were fairly difficult with check in. I use my Choice so everything should’ve been you know pretty much turn key, unfortunately, where I put my significant other on the reservation as well they told him they didn’t have a card on file and he couldn’t check in. All my info is saved into my privileges account this should not be the case. I think it might’ve been a language barrier. I also asked for a price match and the lady at the desk argued that it was the same but the rate was different in dollar and cents value. Lastly when the house keeper uses the leaf blower in the doors there are gaps where u can see the air blowing in but also the dirt stirring up. So after he gets a room clean, he blows dirt and debris from the parking lot back into the room from under the crack in the door. Not sure why this is a Choice hotel. Not sure how it got branded not at all the Choice experience than I’m used to and really should get a refund on the night. I was there because it was her discount or something because it was a horrible stay after day 2! So confused on how this is a...
Read moreWe only stay in this hotel because of its convenient location to Bristol Motor Speedway, and management is always cordial and responsive, and seem to appreciate a guest choosing their hotel. That is rare in budget chain hotels, so A+ there. The rooms are advertised as "new," but they really are not. Bedding & mattresses are old and shabby, the towels of course are given sparingly - in fact, you can't have extras, so if you need towels and are driving there, throw some extras in your car to use in the room. In today's "connected" world, people need outlets, and the rooms are def lacking in that aspect. We like the bare floors (no gross carpet!) and the fact that they are one of the few hotels in the world that offer smoking rooms, which we need and appreciate. One drawback to the location of the hotel is that it is RIGHT on the street - a busy street - and if you are in a room in the front, forget about getting a good night's sleep. The traffic and parking lot noise happen at all hours, and the bright lights of the parking lot shine into the room - the curtain provided does no good to keep the light out. Overall, bring your own toiletries - why does everyone gripe about BUDGET hotels not giving them "body wash?" I mean, really people? PACK YOUR OWN STUFF for your shower routine. Geez. But also bring extra towels to this hotel - you truly will not get any, and if you need 2 beds, ask for something in the rear of the building for so...
Read moreThis hotel was reasonably priced and front desk clerk was friendly. However, there are some things about the room that irritated me. First of all, there is an all-wood floor which I hate in hotels because on rainy days you have wet shoes causing a big wet spot near the door, and then you take off your shoes and then you're walking around in small puddles around your room! Why is it so hard for a hotel to put a 3x3 rug near the door so you can put your wet shoes on it and then walk around on a dry floor with your bare feet? Second, there was a half inch gap at the bottom of the door which means insects like spiders, cockroaches and junebugs can come into your room since they are attracted to the light. Why is it so hard to install a weatherproof seal at the bottom of these hotel doors? Third, the only outlet near the nightstand is on the wall light but there is a curved piece of decorative metal blocking the outlet enough so that I couldn't fit my phone charger into the outlet. What kind of nonsense is this? Plus, modern hotels should have USB ports for charging but this one doesn't. Lastly, I stayed on the side facing the road and there is a lot of traffic noise in the morning, so loud that it woke me up at 6am. So if you plan on getting up that early then no problem, but if you plan on sleeping past that then you better...
