We stayed here for a dance competition from a Friday to Sunday in February 2021. We are Hilton Diamond members so we upgraded to the presidential suite for an extra $115/night which was worth it for the space you get, especially considering the rate was normally about $640/night). We checked in around 7pm with no issues & received our free waters. We stayed on the 5th floor in room 505 which was right off the elevators closest to the check in desk. We had no problem finding luggage carts. Our room had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen & dining room. The living room was very large & had a pull out sofa bed (sleeps 2), four chairs, two large ottomans & a TV on a large shelving unit with plenty of storage. We were able to hook up my son’s Xbox with no problems. At the end of the room was a sitting area with windows that came to a point. The curtains actually separated this area from the rest of the room so when they were closed, it looked like there was a normal wall with windows. My daughter and I actually hid behind the curtains and scared my oldest son and his girlfriend when they arrived which was rather fun! The dining room had a large table for 6 (more if you add chairs) & a buffet with storage. We had dinner & game time with six & had plenty of room. The kitchen had a bar with seating for three, two mini refrigerators, a microwave, sink, lower cabinets, regular coffee pot, ice bucket & small garbage can. They stocked this area with regular & decaf coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, sweet n low, stirring sticks, paper cups & napkins. Between these three rooms was a huge foyer where my daughters dance team could have practiced! From there, there was a hallway with a large closet on each side of the foyer that lead to the bathrooms and bedrooms. To the left was the master suite which had one king bed, nightstands, a dresser, desk, small garbage can & TV which we hooked our Roku up to. The master bath had a nice size vanity with open storage, a small garbage can & a whirlpool tub. We didn’t use the tub as it looked old and unappealing. The metal was worn and it was a little dirty which was sad. There was a safe, luggage rack, iron/board, hangers & extra bedding in the closet. The guest suite, on the right, had two full sized beds, a nightstand, dresser, desk, small garbage can & TV. The bathroom was very large & had the same vanity as the master, a small garbage can & a walk in shower with glass doors. The shower head was adjustable but none of the settings were very powerful so it took longer to rinse my hair. Also, the water took a while to get to a warm, steady temperature which was weird. The closet on this side had a luggage rack & hangers. There were no bathrobes and the towels were standard hotel towels, a little stiff & scratchy. They supplied Neutrogena toiletries. They serve free breakfast daily which was good. You could eat in the lobby, which has plenty of seating, or take it to your room. They had made to order omelets & the usual accompaniments. The pool was open but, due to COVID, you had to reserve an hour of time the morning of the day you want to use the pool which we tried, & failed, to do each day we were there. There were two times available one day but they were during my daughter’s dance competition so they didn’t work for us. So don’t plan to go there & use the pool until it is operating normally. Overall, our stay was nice but definitely could have been better. For the size of the kitchen, it should have been a full, stocked kitchen. At the very least, they should have a larger garbage can although they did supply a large, black garbage bag that laid on the floor. It would be great if they would update the whirlpool tub or replace it with a nice shower so we didn’t have to use the guest bathroom. The kids were thrilled & loved everything about the place but were really disappointed that they couldn’t go swimming. We are booked to stay here for another dance competition in a month & may upgrade again & hopefully be able to...
Read moreFirst off, I contacted the hotel in person, then via email. No response, so now for the poor Google review.
We had a pretty terrible experience during our stay. First of all, the hotel was packed with families and so many children. We understand that this is the intention and hope of the company, but it was hard for us to even get an elevator or a table in the lobby. The line was so long and slow during happy hour, that we ended up leaving. While having a full house is the purpose and intent of Embassy Suites, and the Hilton Brand, it makes it difficult for customers to have a pleasant experience during these booked weekends. But I understand that all of the above is beyond your control.
The worst problem we experienced was with the room itself. We were given room 447. We arrived between 7:30-8:30PM, at which time, we just took our luggage to the room, but immediately left, as we had evening plans. I came back to the room around 10:30PM. The room was blazing hot! The l/r thermostat had a sticker on it that lead me to believe it was inaccessible, so I adjusted the bdrm thermostat from 80 degrees, down to 60 degrees, but the temperature continued rising all night. I changed it from auto to heat to fan, and even to off but the temperature kept rising to 90 degrees. I believe that is as high as the thermostat would even register. When my partner returned to the room, he was stifled by the heat. He called the front desk, but the call was never answered, so he went down to speak with someone in person. He was told we could not switch room because the hotel was fully booked, but he returned with a nice gentleman in a security jacket. The “security” person brought a box fan and had a special key to open the window and he attempted to adjust both thermostats. Please remember that this was in the middle of the night, so I was in a state of dress (or undress as I had been peeling off articles of clothing due to the sweltering heat).
So, we finally fell asleep around 5:30AM, at which point the sun was starting to rise, which also interrupted our sleep as the security person opened the curtains in order to let the window air flow in and circulate.
I was shaking and trembling with heat and sweat, I got little to no sleep, and I felt nauseous for two days afterward. When we checked out, I was too nauseous, sick and frustrated to chat, so my partner talked to the check out staff when we departed. He told me they offered 5000 points or $20 off. He took the points as he was unaware of which was the better value. I personally do not find to be the best solution. I am very disappointed that after being left in a room that was hades hot, causing me to get sick, that 5000 or $20 off the stay is an acceptable solution. I have been a Hilton member for years, and generally love the Embassy Suites, but I will never stay at this one again. As it stands, I am still sick. I’ve literally never had a worse hotel stay.
This was the 2nd weekend of March 2025, and the outside temps were in the 40's and 50's, so it wasn't super hot outside.
I'm most disappointed that no one ever contacted me afterward to have a discussion. Terrible stay and I will...
Read moreRed Alert. Please check your bill carefully. At checkout my bill was $217 more than what my reservation on hilton.com showed (included all local taxes). looking at bill each night was showing a rate $4-$8 more than reserved at. When I questioned the front desk clerk she blamed me and said it was because I booked through a 3rd party. Wrong, I used hilton website. she then said it was a problem with their 'system.' When I suggested I should just challenge the charge with my credit card company, she said not o. I asked how many people were getting ripped off by the problem in their 'system' and she got furious with me and claimed no one was getting ripped off. I said, if people didnt closely check their bill then they indeed were getting ripped off if there was a problem (not being fixed btw) with the hotel's system. she said she would call her manager later. I said that wouldn't be good enough for me not to dispute the charge at which point she said she wouldn't process the charge until the manager checked it out. the manager called me back and left a voice mail correcting the charges and claiming the 'system' made an error. As per the hotel stay a few things. Checked in and no welcome water for honors member. was told my status dropped from silver as I haven't done a lot of travel post covid. my 900 plus stays over the past 30 years dont count for much. When entering the room there was an awful odor. I went back to there front desk to change rooms and the clerk wanted my daughter to come down too before she would change our keys. I asked if she could just change the room/keys and I would go back and get her out of the room with all our things so we wouldn't need the old keys anymore and I would return them after we switched. You would have thought I had asked her to climb Mt. Everest. Eventually we were able to switch, but there was no apology or offer of something to compensate for the disruption. Morning breakfast was average. Eggs cooked to order was nice, but they were cooked on a greasy, dirty grill that wasn't cleaned properly so my eggs tasted like whatever previous omelet ingredients were on the grill. Evening reception isnt worth it as the 'appetizers' were stale goldfish and peanut mix only. Beverage choice was draft bud or bud light only for beer. Extra charge if I wanted something else in a bottle. the workout room switched out the lone recumbent bike for 2 pelotons. the pelotons are awful as you must register to use them and then choose from 1 of 20 'programs.' You cant just start a manual workout without listening to all the gab from the 'instructor.' The bright spot was that 1 of the treadmills was broken and when I called the next day to report it, a maintenance man showed up and had it fixed in about an hour (kudos to him, the only bright spot during our stay). I was traveling (with my grown daughter) for a funeral and to see relatives she hadn't seen in many years. I've stayed at this hotel 3 other times in the past 6 years and skipped it last year. I will now skip it forever, or at least until proper changes are made (including personnel at...
