This place is a health hazard. I booked this place for starships 4th test launch. I booked the place because my friends had already chose the place and I didn't research it unfortunately.

My room was incredibly tiny, beat up furniture, a 20 plus year old non padded spring mattress and all The bedding was musty smelling with cigarette holes. There was no bathroom in the room and I saw 3 small cockaroaches. One crawled onto me in bed.

Also there was a white powder around all of the bed posts and around the perimeter of room. I'm assuming for bed bug deterents. YUCK!

The walls were incredibly thin to where you could hear adjacent neighbors taking loudly, or even just hearing the creaking of them walking across the room or turning around in bed. It was impossible to sleep because the road traffic noise was loud as well.

This is honestly the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed at. And the parking situation is also very sketchy and confusing. I would steer clear of this place. The only redeaming quality was the front desk staff were nice, yet there was an English barrier.

This place is not kept care of at all and repairs are the sloppiest work you can imagine. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra 20 bucks for a...

I was in Brownsville for a week on business and trying to save a few $$ and found the Cameron Hotel. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, don't come here. If you need lots of space, don't come here. If you are use to upscale accommodations, please don't come here! You'll just write an ugly review. This is a vintage type hotel and reminds me of a German Guest House. The rooms are small but adequate. The mattress may not be a fancy pillow top, but it's comfortable enough. Bring eat plugs, you might hear conversations at night you don't really want to hear. The traffic dies down about 9:30-10 and it is very quiet, at least it was during my stay. There's no pool and no breakfast, but you can't beat the price for you or your pet! There's a great pastry shop on the next block and lots of shopping just one street over. Also walking distance to the border crossing if you have your passport and want to see Matamoros. Or a 30 minute drive to South Padre and the beaches!! The family that runs the hotel is very sweet! They try very hard to help in any way. I would...

If you like waking up to roaches crawling on ur face well this is the place for you. If you lovvee waking up to a nice cold shower and no hot water look no further. If you love spending hundreds for exterminators after saving a few bucks by staying here for bringing back sum souvenirs from this place like bed bugs and roaches well this is the place for you. One entrance in and out. Absolutely no guest for any reason if you do 25$ cash. No other form of payment. Had me walking around at 130am looking for an ATM since I had a guest over. Trust me they watch that door for anyoneh making opportunity since the hotel hasn't changed and no investment back into it. By far worst place I have ever stayed at. Owner of hotel needs to be bought out by someone who can make this hotel the historical beauty it was and could be. If you choose to stay here your money will not go to any renovations or upkeep of the hotel and are helping destroy a city landmark. Let the hotel go out of business so another owner can buy it and hopefully return it to it's glory is...

Please note: lots of signs that there are no refunds. I would not recommend and would not stay again. The question is - “is that blood or semen on the walls?” Never mind I don’t want the answer. Mold on the bathroom walls. The light switch to the bathroom was rather hard to find. I added a picture of it and let’s see if you can find it without it being pointed out. I thought this hotel was cheaper because it’s old. I thought for the price it could be old and clean and worth the price. I was wrong. Camping in my car would be better than this.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY! Avoid this hotel at all costs. Lots of health violations in the room we received. The room looked nothing like in the pictures. There were cockroaches and ants crawling everywhere, including the bed, furniture, towels, etc. The sheets were not clean with a lot of stains on them. The room itself was not clean and looked absolutely disgusting. There was no electricity in the bathroom. We saw the room and left immediately, still waiting to receive the refund from the hotel.

Must be able to appreciate the historical aspect of this hotel, as well as the area it's in. But for me, I adore places like this and didn't mind the dated feel of my room. I stayed one night in a king room and it was perfect for a bed and a shower. The gentleman that runs the front desk is very kind and helpful! Location is excellent for shopping, dining, and crossing into Mexico on a whim. Be advised that since it's an older building, you can hear your neighbors.
