The Plaza Motel — Hotel in Bryan

Upon my arrival on September 2018, I was in Room 6, from a 13 hour drive. I did not feel comfortable about the room because I have never stayed in motel. I had to work for 6am. I woke up at 4 and saw a bed bug on the wall. I went to check my body, and I saw that I was ate up by bed bugs. I brought it to the attention of the boy and Ms. Roz. I was asked did I have an allergic reactions and told that the bites did not look like bed bugs bites. So I was moved to Room 9 until JR redid my room in number 6. I went back to room 6 and this time I was ate up again. So I went back to the manager and this time I pull my shirt up at 5 something in the morning. I was told again that I had an allergic reaction. I was moved to room 12 or 14 then I was moved to room 22. I have been warned by other travelers that the motel was nasty and did not keep up maintenance and housekeeping. I was ate up in that room but I did not report it to the manager because he started harassing me and soon started stalking my room. JR was watching every move that I make and then he assumed that I was leaving and decided to clean my room. He walked in my room and ask me what I was doing there and got very nasty with me. JR is very unprofessional and curses like a sailor. If I needed anything, I was always talk to Roz because she is very friendly and she know how to talk to people. JR then assumed that I owed him some more money. If he would have stopped stalking my car and my room, he would have known that I was caught up. I was paying 245 per week for my room. JR told me that he was going up on the rooms because he was losing money and some of the nurses was not paying their money on time. JR said that he was going up from 245 to 350 per week. I was not about to pay that for them rooms when I have to wash my own linens for my bed and towels. I had to take my own trash out. I did not get any room service for 350.I do not wish this motel to my worst enemy. I would not be staying at the cheap motel ever again. This place was a kind lifesaver for my boys & I in September 2022. I stayed with my toddler boy for 2 weeks +5 days as needed. & was able to visit with my teenage son here as well. The new management family & the boss were kind, family oriented, & hardworking to improve this place & service. We stayed in 2 of the older rooms & they were quality & clean in all ways that really matter: beds, facilities, air coolers, tvs, refrigerators, floors, doors, windows, parking. No bed bugs! No carpet, had nice tile floors, so less allergies & germs. The daily & weekly prices were affordable & fair. The laundry room machines were low cost & functioned well. I would improve the rooms with newer bleached white towels & shower curtains, & machine washable rugs. I would also allow the weekly renters to air out their rooms more with some open screen window time. They may have made these improvements by now as they were renovating this place. The location is excellent; sweet country air, quiet, but so close walking to major stores, restaurants, etc. Much thanks again to you all working here! (So sorry about my late post. This place was great. We were newlywed husband and wife motorbike riders and had put in a very long day of travel. We were greeted warmly and price was great. Both bikes were able to be parked safely right outside our door. My bride kept commenting on although the place was older, they had taken extra pains to make it feel like home--extra decor and items that you don't expect at a roadside motel. In the morning there was a very much above average continental breakfast with home-baked goods and more choices than many chains we stayed at. We stayed in the older section which was very nice, but somewhat dated but very well done. They also have a newer section.
