Granted it's been a couple of years since we've stayed here but... There are things that I just couldn't get over...
It was a last minute decision on my long-time partner's part. He was coming in from out of town on short notice and was unable to reach me. Thinking he wouldn't be able to stay with me during the short stint he booked a room here. 1st mistake... It wasn't reasonably priced at all for a week night stay!
We eventually did connect, so I decided to stay over with him at this hotel... Neither one of us had ever stayed here before. 2nd mistake... It was obvious to us that as soon as one walked in they were working on upgrades for the hotel as well as rebranding themselves under another name. We thought "No big deal..."
We checked in to a single King Size Bedroom. It was near the pool that they were updating. Obviously they were still updating the room but things still looked neat & clean. Sheets smelled fresh, were white, pillows the same. However, the bathroom could have used a better cleaning. It too was under updating construction which caused it to smell mildewy like the main bedroom where I believe - said smell - mainly came from the swimming pool across the hall.
We slept well, the bed was not new but comfortable. However when we were making the bed the following morning was when we noticed that there was a large area of dried crusty food type substance on the bed skirt. It was then obvious to us that who knew when the last time that bed skirt was changed & washed...it was filthy. It kept going downhill from there...
While we were getting ready to leave I made us a two cup pot of coffee. It was horrible! It tasted like weak muddied down water. Now I don't blame those employed here about the coffee packets, they don't make & bag the beans it's the manufacturer... But they need to know how bad it is! So, replace the Coffee Co. Please!
We then went downstairs to check out and eat our breakfast. At the checkout counter we mentioned the bed skirt filth, smell of the room as well as the horrible coffee. The hotel clerk apologized yet encouraged us to stay and give the coffee a 2nd chance as well as the breakfast... Well, breakfast was already late getting out on the floor - we checked out at 9:30am - and only then was this elderly woman coming through the back matanance doors on an electric scooter began to get breakfast rolling. The coffee still tasted like weak watered down mud. The scrambled eggs were way overcooked (cold too) and so was the bacon. We simply stuck with the danishes, fresh fruit and things that are premade & shipped in.
We haven't been back since and really don't plan too. I just hope that since they're now under the Wyndham "canopy" that things can and have improved...
Read moreStayed here for one night (two rooms) as we had family coming into town. At first sight it seemed to be a nice little quaint hotel; older area but convenient to McDonald’s, Starbucks, a pancake house located right next to the hotel, and a gas station. The entrance appeared to be pretty clean which was giving me more positive hope that the rooms would be spectacular. Unfortunately, the rooms were mediocre and definitely not cleaned to a standard that I wanted my family to be in. Stained sheets and pillow cases, marks on the walls, kind of had a bit of a musty smell in one of the rooms (#205). For the other room (#207) it smelled as if there was a male that had put cologne which wasn’t an issue for me as the boys were staying in that room; again, stained sheets and pillowcases and stained walls. Cleanliness is definitely not their strong suit at this location. After getting everything situated I was looking forward to that nice hot shower… Hopes too high apparently as there was NO hot water or even Luke warm water at that. After my “shower” I went to speak to the front desk to see what the deal was and was told that it should be back up in about 30 mins or so (this was at 6:55pm). I went about my evening and relaxed gave it a couple hours and still NO hot water. I then let it go and decided I would check again with my morning routine… AGAIN NO hot water, so that was awesome first thing in the morning. No notification from the front desk as you would think working in the “hospitality” business you might receive something. I requested a refund as that was unacceptable. I received a $25 refund per room, acceptable but still not happy about the overall situation. Also the walls and doors must be made of cardboard as you can hear conversations of other guests throughout.
Breakfast wasn’t really breakfast unless you’re an 8 year old that loves cereal and only if you’re into Raisin Bran or Cheerios. Biscuits and gravy were meh and I strayed away from the waffles since there was no syrup. Don’t say you have a full breakfast if you’re not providing eggs and some bacon or sausage.
Overall, I would not recommend staying at this location nor will I consider returning to stay here in the future. Please take this review true to heart especially if you have family with you as you will not be happy...
