When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostesses greeted us. We checked in, and they added us to the list and said we would receive a text when they had a table for us. After waiting around 20 to 25 minutes, we were brought to our table. A Hispanic gentleman took us to our table. He was very helpful and friendly.
Our server Terri came by and said she would be with us momentarily. She came by shortly after introduced herself and took our drink orders. After a bit, Terri returned and took our food order. I ordered the Chorizo Skillet with no tomatoes and no chorizo substitute turkey sausage with a side of wheat toast not pictured.
We started eating our food and I noticed it didn't have a lot of turkey sausage in it at all. It had so many onions that it overpowered the skillet. Also, the turkey sausage was not cut right so a lot of the pieces were half and three-quarter turkey links. My wife ordered the Northwood hash, and she said it wasn't flavorful at all so we asked Terri for hollandaise sauce to try to make it better and it helped a bit but not good enough to try again.
The service from the door to the table was perfect, but the food missed its mark, so much so that we might not go back to that location again. On another note, we did like how this Original Pancake House seemed newer and the decor was a lot nicer than others we’ve...
Read moreI came here as a solo person. I made a reservation for one online thinking, ok that includes the bar tops as well. Nope! Go straight to the bar and sit your bass down, no reservations for those spots!
No. Don't start your morning like I did. I thought I did the smart thing by getting on the online wait list but then neglected to pop in and say hello to check in at the hostess stand. I thought the online option was there to bypass bugging people but nope you still gotta check in.
I proceeded to wait for an HOUR, watching my place in line rise to the top and then POOF watched my reservation disappear entirely and jump straight to "thanks for dining with us."
Y'all my blood sugar was low. I've got tunnel vision. I'm not reading fine print. I'm just focused on where I am in line. My mind is swimming with images of puffy delectable souffle omelettes and chicken sausage but nein! I could have bypassed this entire freaking wait by, get this, sitting my butt down at the breakfast bar.
Otherwise food and service is great, I'm just salty about wasting my own time due to incompetence. It took all of my prefrontal cortex to not stamp my foot and turn on my heel and leave when I saw my place in queue die a stupid death. Don't be like me. Don't be dumb and kick your morning in the groin due to not using...
Read moreYou can guarantee that you will have a great experience each time you come here. They have the service and the atmosphere down to a science, and they consistently deliver quality results in both categories. Food leaves room for improvement, but it's overall consistently pretty good, and they are very quick in producing whatever you order, regardless of group size.
The food lacks in overall flavor satisfaction, in my opinion, though, but it's never bad, just never great. I never leave here, so I am satisfied that I just had an amazing meal, but that's not why I come here. I come here cause I can be here at basically any time while they're open and never have to wait very long to be seated. Of course, I never go here at peak times, though, so that probably plays into the wait times.
The parking situation is rough, never enough spaces to park in their crammed lot, and you end up having to park a ways away from the door typically. Parking is free, though, so I'm not complaining too much, just a thing I've noticed most times I'm here.
Go here if you want to drink nice drip coffee and have the classic diner fare experience time and time again. Also our server almost always remembers us and that makes us feel special, so that's another reason to come here.
I will be back...
