The property location was ideal for our traveling purpose so we were pleased with our selection until we entered our room. As a former Marriott employee having worked at Marriott's Headquarters for 8 years and also for a time at Marriott's Camelback Inn, I couldn't believe this was a Marriott property. Comments posted by the staff keep on saying that renovations will be taking place later this year (2014) yet this project should have been done a year ago if not longer. The Front Desk Staff was excellent especially Frank who went out of his way to help with getting our boarding passes since the computers in the lobby would not print out the code needed on the pass. Regarding our room. For the price we paid we expected much more. The mattress was well worn, mismatched ceiling paint, an outdated low sink which is located right in the center of the room! You have to straddle the commode in order to close the tiny bathroom door! There just weren't those extras that you find at most Marriott properties. We tipped our maid $2 each day and we could have gotten a little better service. We had used up the paper pads and they were never replaced. We used the plastic utensils but left the package of paper plates out so the maid would replace the utensils but she never did. We put the dish towel in for replacement and it never was. We had to ask for Kleenex twice and toilet tissue once. After the first day, the toilet tissue was never given that hotel fold. The head of housekeeping was very nice as were the maintenance men but it was a bit unusual when the maintenance men asked very nicely if they could come in and "pull" the a/c unit. We said ok and with them they brought in this large plastic tray, pulled the unit then sprayed something on it and then vacummed up the solution. They did use a drop cloth as well but it was just a bit strange. The breakfast served was just ok. We've had better staying at Hampton Inn's. The eggs were dry one morning and there was no crispness to the sausage as in the past. For the price we paid per night, $200 I cannot recommend this property to anyone but, maybe once renovations are made things...

Asked for my garbage to be emptied, which had not been done in the morning (nor was any soap or towels replaced-nothing had been done, my room was untouched by room service in the morning), was greeted (kind of) with an older gentleman who from what I gathered, had slight dementia and severe hearing loss. He was knocking on the wrong door, couldn't hear me yelling at him "I'm over here!". The only reason why I even knew he was out there was because he was excessively knocking on my neighbor's door, shouting "Hello?!" and "What do you want?!".
He proceeded, after I got his attention after shouting at him for a minute and a half to get his attention, without a word, he walked up to me, handed me a trash bag, and that's when I realized I was to empty my own trash and hand him the garbage bag. I did so, and he walked off without saying a word or giving me a replacement trash bag.
This hotel had washing and drying machines, that were not CC capable, meaning you had to have quarters available, which, the front desk of course did not have or provide unless you have cash, but had no ATM in the hotel.
I learned that also, I had better get the hotel reservation online, because they will charge you nearly twice the amount without a reservation. I asked for a refund on the difference, and I was promptly rejected.
The bed was comfortable but for 200$+ I was charged for each night, I would never go back. This was an 80$/day experience at best, and although I don't mind keeping elderly employed, please allow your employees to be capable of delivering ADEQUATE customer service.
Not having room service while I was away...
Read moreCustomer Service is Everything. The customer service here is alright, could be much better! Working in a hotel, I know things happen and things can go wrong or things will happened that shouldn't happen, but it is how the customer service person handles it, makes it better. So my first hotel room had hair in the bed, I proceed to notify the front desk and she room changes me (the young lady was awesome). I spoke to the house keeping manager who apologized for the inconvenience and stated she didn't see the hair in the bed, I took a picture. Out of good faith she ask the manager and they give me 50% off for Friday night. So, the next morning I took a shower in my new room, and the shower head was broken/loose, so while I am showering water is flooding the floor, the roof, the toilet, and the towel bar with towels. The AC unit isn't up to par. So I go down to the front desk to ask maintenance to fix these problems in my room and the "general manager" comes out and she makes false assumptions. She states that I have been room changed 3 times, which I haven't only twice, and states the AC unit is fixed. I explained to her I didn't change rooms 3 times, but only twice and that the AC wasn't working correctly, that the shower head was unacceptable. Upon coming back to my room later on that night, house keeping had left their cleaning towel on the floor. The room was nice, but I wish the customer service was better and things that happened didn't happen. Suite is a nice size, modern style and very comfy bed. A lot of room and plenty of storage area, and excellent...
