Overall this is a beautiful property. I had a early flight into Chicago Midway International Airport with the Uber costing $25 to and fromt the airport and the Front Desk Agent attending to me upon arrival was willing to check me in around 11am. She was extremely friendly and answered all questions with a smile about the Greater Chicago Area. The facility is secure with key card access to gain access to the hotel room floors. Upon stepping off the elevator, I noticed that the hallway carpet was not vacuumed and never was over the course of the 3 nights I stayed on property. My room was beautiful and spacious and quiet. Even though I was next to the elevator and ice room, I never heard noise from either. My first time I took a shower, I noticed the water was not draining and the front desk had someone up right away and never had issues the rest of my stay with the shower. My biggest concern with this property would come on day two. I locked myself out of my room and went to the front desk to get a new key. The front desk agent, a different female from check-in asked for the room number, but never asked for ID, name or any information that would have proven I was the guest staying in this room. This is a safety issue but I think it was overlooked as the front desk was very busy at this time but also something that cannot be overlooked. Laundry facilities are on the ground level and free to use to guest. You just need to provide the detergent which you can get in the pantry next to the front desk. You will need your room key to gain access to the laundry facility, pool and gym. All these facilities were very clean. While staying on property, I did use the bar one evening. The bartender was very pleasant and great with engaging with the guests. I orders ribs while at the bar and the food came out quick and was a great plate presentation and very tasteful. Pricing was average for a hotel. Last but not least, I was at this property for a conference and used the hotel meeting space. The hotel has multiple meeting facilities beautiful designed and with a modern look. Would love host events at this property again. For anyone that is looking for a safe, clean area to stay within walking distance to food and shops, this is the place. Right around the corner is the downtown coradore to the Village of Burr Ridge. Beautifully designed downtown area with a vary viberant upbeat feel for all ages. You will also feel very safe walking around here and no need to drive to it. Uber to downtown was on average $35-$70 based on time of day. I would definitely stay at this property again....
Read moreMy experience at the Burr Ridge Marriott was awful. Nothing went smoothly and there were multiple rude encounters with staff. We requested early check in and were told to call the day off, which we did and we were told our room was ready. We showed up at 2PM like they told us and then they told us our room was not ready. The front desk staff was not willing to help us in any way and just made up excuses as to why our room was now not ready. We had a wedding at 4PM and had to get ready and this delay caused us missing the first part of the church service. About fifteen minutes later they finally found a double room was ready and we were able to check into that room. The room was not up to standard at all. It smelled, we found a used breakfast calendar with the previous occupants selections on our bed, and the shower would not drain and we had to shower in each others used water. We mentioned this to housekeeping but never saw anyone come out to look at it. After the church service we went back to the hotel room and asked about our wedding bags. The lady was really rude and said there was not a bag for us. The bride is our very good friend and we were informed there were bags for everyone checking in. We stated that we were there for a wedding and the lady replied "we host a lot of weddings here." We then provided the name of the wedding party and she still acted like she had no idea what we were talking about. Finally, a gentleman came up and said they did have bags and gave us one. We then found out from the bride's mother that we were also supposed to get brunch tickets upon check in, that never happened either. The bride's mother finally had to go up to the desk after the reception at like 100AM and gather the remaining bags and breakfast tickets to hand out to the hotel guests. Then for some reason housekeeping was pounding on our door at 800AM on Saturday morning to see if we were still in the room. Not sure why that happened since check out was at 1100AM. I have never had a hotel experience like this and could not believe that this all happened during a one night stay and probably a 20...
Read moreI used to work in hospitality and frequently had to inspect and audit rooms.
Nothing wrong with the room maintenance wise except a wire access panel in the headboard wouldn't fully shut, not that the normal person would ever notice that. The room passed a bed bug inspection. No signs of active bugs, or signs of treated "dead" bugs. I could have dinged the housekeeper for a couple of minor things, but would most likely have overlooked it. (Smudge on the mirror and shower handles) Overall everything looked remodeled, new, shiny, and clean! Not sure why they still have those old school hotel phones when everything else has been modernized, but didn't think anything of it until writing this review a day after the fact. The bed looked comfy, unfortunately I have might have a roblem and refuse to sleep in hotel beds. The bench at the end of the table designed to hold your suitcase I slept on was not very comfy in case you were wondering. ( a step up for me, I usually sleep in the truck and only use the room to shower and brush my teeth.)
The conference room I was in was accommodating.
The bar has a good selection. The Bartender is obviously inexperienced, but I suppose everyone has to learn somewhere. The biggest turn off is that the bar was full and had several tables of people too, making plenty of money, but they still shut it down at 11pm sharp. Not sure why they don't give discretion to the tender. If the hotel is making money and the bartender is making money, and nobody is even close to intoxicated, keep the drinks going. Don't just shut the lights and Tv off in the middle of a football game, hand out the bills and leave everyone wondering why last call was never announced. This irritates you even more when you find out that every bar and liquor store in the area closes between 11 and 1130. If your a drunk, or like to drink when on vacation, make sure you bring your own stash to the room.
Location has s clean pool and hot tub, friendly desk staff, and a better than expected...
