Some Days Inns are pleasant. This is not one of them. It’s evident that the entire building has not had a thorough cleaning in years. The place is a dump. It’s so dirty. The elevator is ancient, and kinda scary sounding. The room was a typical hotel room with two double beds. Old style heater/ac that was hard to control. Small desk and desk chair. Decent mini fridge, but I didn’t peek in the microwave at all. Tv was irritating. There was no channel guide, and the one on the tv didn’t show all the channels. The towels in the towel rack in the bathroom, I assume, are supposed to be white. They’re all grungy and tattered. There were three body size towels, so that was good. I just wish they didn’t look like they had been previously soaked in mud. Two wash cloths, two hand towels. The shower didn’t have any stray hairs on it or anything, so that was good. I wouldn’t call it clean, though. I went to take a shower…tried and tried to get the water to get hot. I tried messing with the dial, leaving it run…it just would not warm up. So, it’s February in Ohio and I have to take a cold shower. I have no choice in the matter, as I just finished radiation treatments for breast cancer, and I have some radiation dermatitis that must be kept clean. For this reason, I’m glad I brought my own towels. But it was extremely unpleasant to have to take a cold shower when it’s cold outside. Another thing, the socks I wore in the room are ruined…several pairs. That floor is FILTHY! I took the socks off, because I figured I can wash my feet in the cold bathtub. Was using my electric razor on my legs, so I had my bare foot propped on the other bed. I must have dragged my foot down when I removed it, because the bottom of my foot wiped off onto the sheet on the other bed. Omg, the dirt! That sheet turned brown. I really hope they wash those sheets. So I have to wears shoes in the room now after I wash my feet in the cold shower so I can get into bed. Ugh, this is really gross. There’s really no excuse for the filth. I don’t care how cheap this place is, it’s unsanitary. It’s a good thing I’m already on antibiotics, because I’m sure just sleeping in that bed was no good for my poor skin. I’m already all burned up from the radiation. These places really need to have more respect for their guests and keep their properties clean. I stayed in the microtel up the street recently, after I had my lymph node removal done, and as I was packing up to leave, I found blood stains on the side of the sheet, on the side of the bed I was not sleeping on. I was alone, and the blood was definitely not from me. I would have bled through my clothes, and that didn’t happen. They gave me 2,000 points for my troubles. I should’ve known better than to give them another chance. However, I had stayed in the Days Inn in Caldwell, and that one was fine. I thought I would give Days Inn a chance after I just got out of the ER and needed somewhere close by for the night. I booked two nights since I had a follow up at the doctor the next day. It’s just easier, because I don’t live that close. I’m run down, and that’s a long trip for me right now. Your hotels need to consider that some people who are immunocompromised have to stay in your hotels. You need to keep them clean! What I have had to deal with from Choice Hotels brand has been absolutely unacceptable. Call me “Karen,” or whatever. I don’t care. You guys have to get...
Read moreI had a very long drive heading back home and needed to find a place to stop and work. Days Inn was the first of more hotels than I can count (essentially all from Hilliard to Cambridge) that would let me check in at 11:00 AM. The woman on the phone was also at the desk and she was very kind and helpful, she got me into a room very quickly and even suggested the second floor because it would be quieter for work. It was quiet, very quiet. I ended up staying another night because the location was great and I needed to catch up on sleep still. It was very quick, the woman was friendly, and she was able to charge the card I’d already used again. I actually dashed overnight my first night there and made back the costs of the room. The rooms are what you’d expect from a Days Inn these days but I travel a lot and of all the hotels I’ve stayed at in the same price range, it was much better. I do always bring at least Lysol wipes and my own blankets/towels regardless of where I am staying, so can’t comment much on the towels and sheets, though there seemed to be plenty of towels and washcloths available. No carpet (finally) and mostly clean. The location was wonderful. I had lunch delivered from a Greek spot across the street, it was delicious. I had so many options for food and coffee, more than a handful being less than two minutes drive. Also- gas at that exit was $3.07 which is $0.60 less than I’m used to, so that was nice. The other guests were friendly, the shower had a good amount of water coming out of the shower head and good water pressure though the tub itself and a lot of the room could use updating. I checked out last night around 12am and headed home. Checkout was quick and easy. I’d absolutely stay again I really enjoyed the area and the staff were...
Read moreLet me start with how fast and easy making the reservation over the phone was. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating on the phone. The price was amazing and cheaper then any hotel near by. I wish I could give more then 5 stars for the staff. Upon arriving I walked into to a clean lobby, with a friendly smiling ,very upbeat staff who greeted me immediately. I felt very welcomed and like I belonged here and was more then just another customer. Check in wasn't until 3 however I was able to check in early. Very understanding and sincere staff.
The location is so convenient plenty of restaurants and shopping to choose from. Walmart and dollar stores within a mile down the road. Gas stations near by and right next to the interstate. Housekeeping very friendly and helpful as well. They rooms were very clean, beds made very nice. Very comfortable, tight and clean folds in on the bed. Room was very inviting and felt roomie. Shower was clean water hot and great pressure. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash is supplied inside the shower hanging on the wall. Towels nicely folded. Cute little fan made from the washcloths. Little things like that made it easy to tell the staff take pride in their work and they want to make me feel comfortable, and safe.
I wish I could give this hotel more then 5 stars. Oh did I mention the renovations all new furniture and floors. Work is still being done so I can't wait to see what else is done.A simple but very filling breakfast... They also offered smoking rooms and very reasonable pet fee. Not the normal $100+ per pet per night. Thank you for the...
