Here is my take on the Forum... it's almost like a big chain store jumped the gun, started building the restaurant, and then backed out when the market research came in... then The Forum moved in to take over. I'll admit... I didn't order any of the Restaurant Favorite items. I can't tell you if the Greek cuisine is any good there. My wife and I both ordered steak, she, a ribeye, myself, the sirloin. Her steak was overcooked, granted, she likes raw, but this was closer to med/med well. Just because it's a ribeye cut, doesn't dictate that every ribeye should be $23.... this one certainly wasn't worth that. The sirloin was... well... for lack of a better term... petite cut. We both had baked potatoes (she said her potato was undercooked in a few places throughout... I didn't have that issue) and house salads. The waiter asked if it was alright to include onion, cucumber, and croutons on the salad. I'm glad we both said yes. Had we not, it would have simply been chopped iceberg lettuce. As it stands, each salad had 1 ring of a red onion, 1 slice of cucumber, and a handful of 1/4" cubed croutons(there were also some slivers of carrots as well). As far as this review goes, there are some saving graces. First, the service.... while the food left something to be desired, our waiter was spot on, polite, and attentive to us throughout the entire meal. We tipped accordingly. Secondly, the desserts.... this saved our meals. She had a slice of lemon cake that was incredibly delicious. I had the baklava, which I was told was made a few times throughout the week. We were both incredibly happy with the desserts. Finally...the atmosphere... the motif.... the decorative ambiance... well. I can't put it any more bluntly than this. It appears they bought the molds for the dirt devil hand vacuum, used acrylic paint, and hung them on the walls as light fixtures. I don't know... just not my style. Throughout the meal, my eyes were drawn to a dead stinkbug, dangling from a cobweb, spinning clockwise and counterclockwise, from one of the window treatments. I was transfixed. I know, I know... it's a little thing in the grand scheme, but it does make you wonder how the rest of the cleaning goes. I did take an opportunity to visit the facilities. They were primarily clean... I wouldn't complain about their conditions. Paper towels were well stocked. My conclusion is that I will probably never visit this restaurant again. I don't know if they skate by with the local population by not having any chain type bar/grill restaurants nearby, or what the case is. Again... I cannot comment as to how the Greek cuisine tasted, but if the baklava was a clue... it may be enjoyable. The staff was excellent. I'd give them raises if I could, they'll have to settle for a decent tip and a...
Read moreStopped because of great reviews, left highly disappointed. We were traveling through and looked up the Google reviews on this place.
The only reason why it got more than one star is because even though it was very busy, we were seated right away (in the bar area, which was very loud and we couldn't have a conversation, but at least we were seated).
The food was lousy. Really, truly bad. I had high hopes because of all the great reviews, and the packed parking lot, but maybe Cambridge is really lacking quality places to eat? We each ordered different things, and none was good. The gyro meat was so overcooked; my daughter showed me how she could crack a piece of the meat in half like a cracker. My husband had a seafood pasta dish, and thought the sauce tasted like something out of a can; very little flavor at all. I ordered the "King of Pork Chops", and they were dry, so very overcooked, and tasteless. There was supposed to be some kind of herb sauce on it, but it looked like a dry chop that had a little sprinkle of oregano, maybe. I slathered my chops in the butter (I'm not sure it was butter, it was tasteless too and likely margarine) just so I could eat them. My house salad was fine. Another child had the chicken bacon ranch wrap, and said it was okay, but her highlight of the meal was the bread sticks. We were traveling and hungry, and just wanted to get back on the road.
When I walked to the restroom, I did see that some tables had delicious looking pizzas, so maybe that was what we should have ordered, but from the reviews it sounded like everything there was a winner. The service was adequate, though not cheery; maybe that was the fact that the bar area was so loud, perhaps she was having trouble hearing anything too. When we left, some of our stomachs were also unsettled. Maybe an off night? As we left, we saw Ruby Tuesdays across the street and wished we had gone there, even though we generally prefer local places...
Read moreI came here to eat last night and the night before that. I'm in town for a Spartan race up at The Wilds. After a six hour drive from Pennsylvania out here we were hungry as heck. So after checking into our hotel we ventured out into town for a bite to eat. We can across The Forum and what a good find. Our first night here I ordered the Greek Sampler and the black bean chipotle veggie burger 🍔. Great sampler but the veggie burger was delicious and if you have read any of my post from the past you would know vegetarian is not in my vocabulary lol. I wanted to try something different and I'm happy I did. The next night after five hours of grueling mountainous terrain and thirty obstacles we worked up a helluva appetite. So after showering up we headed back to The Forum. This time I ordered a gyro 🥙. I gotta say it was one of the best I have. I had better but this one was really good. We also had the onion thing they have there for the appetizer. That was great as well. There was no complaints from our party of four. Plus the price was really good. Very affordable for a place like this with awesome food. The waitresses were great as well. There was a thirty minute wait both nights but that was kind of expected with all the Spartans in town. All in all it was a very...
