Canton Motel — Hotel in Canton

We were suppose to stay at the Rose B & B but at the last minute were told we could not but could stay here. (both same owner)|Since we had plans to go to the Market Days it was too late to get anything else. However, now I realize the Rose would have been no better since it's the same owner. This place is so run down and everything so old old old. There was mold all around the bathtub area and they had attempted to cover it with white caulking but mold showed through. The carpet was stained so bad I could hardly stand to walk on it. The mattress and box springs were very very old they had turned a dirty brown. The bathroom door would hardly close completely and once my husband did close if all the way and almost couldn't get it open. You could tell others had the same problem due to door wood was splintered and paint off. The only reason I give this a 2|star is because the manager was nice and came down on the price to $70. However there is no breakfast here so we had to eat|out which brought it to $90. We have stayed in very nice Hotels with breakfast for less. This place really needs to be shut down. After checking in at the office, proceeded to our room. Rooms was dingy, antiquated, no flooring, paintings on the wall from 1989. There were hardly any plugs in the room and the power strip looked overloaded already. Everything looked old and run down. Didn't even take a shower because it was just too gross. The floor was bare concrete and some old worn out rugs. Couldn't stand to walk on it without shoes. The price of $125 was outrageous considering the state of this room and the hotel in general. I've stayed lots of places and travel frequently and this room falls into the "Awful and Never Again" category. Staff was very friendly. Price for room was affordable. Stayed in room 120. Bed was clean and comfortable. AC kept the room comfortable as well. Microwave and fridge were clean and operable. However, bathtub was dingy. Tub surround was filthy. Bath towel and hand towel had dirty fingerprints on them. Water pressure and temperature fluctuated during shower. Coffee pot had used coffee pack in it and moldy water in its reservoir. The chair in the room was stained and had tattered upholstery. Walls had soft spots from what looked like previous water damage. Room had an unkept feel to it, and decor felt like an afterthought.
