I’ve been keeping aquariums for over 15 years and was excited to support a small business when I learned about this place. In the last 4 weeks of doing business with this gentleman, here were my issues. He boasted he could find just about anything. I placed a couple orders two separate times. He was able to get them, but he had excuses as to why they had not come in yet. I was able to go online and order the same fish to my door step. I bought almost $200 worth of fish equipment and went back twice to return some of them “un-opened” and he was closed during normal business hours both days. I live almost an hour away. When I was able to finally catch him open, almost a week later, I had lost my receipt. He said it was no problem, but that he could find the purchase on his computer and return it to my debit card. After he printed my receipt, I found out he only gave me store credit. Why lie? I traded in 4 fish, he said if they made it 7 days then he would give me store credit. All of them made it and he only paid me for 3 fish. This last one was the final straw. I bought a fish from him that died within 24 hours. I tested my water and it was perfect. I forgot my water sample to return the fish so I had to drive another hour and a half round trip for the sample. The owner tells me my water is too acidic. I ask him what my PH was. He said 6.8. Anything between 6.5 and 7.5 is ideal for the tropical setup I have but he says Im on the border. So he wouldn’t refund my fish. The thing with Ph is that many factors such as a long car ride in a plastic container could effect it. But still my PH was just fine at 6.8. I cannot even begin to say how impressed I was with everything in this store right down to the owner being so very passionate and personable. I’ve been to so many pet stores over the years and I think most of us can agree a lot of these places do not keep up with care for the animals and or lack the knowledge to keep them healthy. This man by far has his heart and soul into this little shop and I can tell he has personally hand picked and put genuine work into carrying or finding the specific items and pets he chooses to carry or provide for the public. I have never seen so many unique fish in one store as I did that day. He even has a variety of bugs I need for my geckos and all of his prices are really good. I mean great! This place is what pet enthusiasts are looking for. They have a great assortment of products. Beautiful fish and reptiles. Bunnies ,ferrets ect. But what you can’t find anywhere else around here is the knowledge that comes with Phil he is as excited about your new pet venture as you are and will guide you every step of the way.
