First let me start with I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it was acceptable.
Last Saturday (March 22) and this morning was a nightmare before we left the premises. When we got to the room it had recently been remodeled. The contemporary/European style is really nice. With the remodel there is no longer the following items that should be standard with a room - no facial tissue, coffee pot, blow dryer, iron, ironing board, pictures on the wall. But there was microwave and refrigerator.
We had a king room -- the center wall is gone. The ceiling fans are gone. The couch is gone. There is a major "empty space" in the room. The floors are fake wood laminate -- it was "DIRTY". Only response I got for the removal of all these items was "corporate" made us.
Now the NIGHTMARE --- when my husband got out of bed this morning he threw the covers back to go to restroom. When he returned, he noticed a "STAIN" on the sheets near the foot of the bed - dried in the sheets. So then we start looking at all linens -- turns out the pillow case I was sleeping on had blood stains and dirt stains. Another pillow case had "dirt stains". The pillow cases were "dingy white" compared to the sheets. Two of the four towels had stains. The bathroom door had a busted hole covered with stucco that hasn't been painted.
HE FREAKED. We had to immediately pack up and get out of the room. I took pictures to send to corporate to show them of the experience. As I took the pictures and packed up I got madder, then decided when I checked out I would take the linens to the desk and show the clerk. When I show the clerk she tries to tell me there is nothing wrong, she apologized, and stated she would have the maids pay better attention. I told her I had stayed in the past with no issues. I ask if I was going to be reimbursed because I needed to go to another motel to take a shower before I travelled. She said NO, she was just apologizing. She went to take the linens off the counter, I told her NO. I told her I would be keeping the linens to send to corporate when I write my report of complaint to them. She said she didn't know how to work the machine to void the sale. I told her no problem, as I would be contacting corporate. She then got on the phone with someone and they came from a back room and voided my sale.
In the end, I will be contacting corporate and I will include the pictures I took of all the NASTY ITEMS. I am still grossed out at this point.
The HORROR of it all -- they charge $155 a night during the 1st Monday Canton Flea Market weekend. I want to start a protest/campaign to ask people to NOT STAY in this...
Read moreI have no real complaints about this place. Its serving its intended purpose and the price was fair so 5 stars from me. The following is just things of note that I thought of... there is doordash avaliable but uber eats does not service the area. the clerk who checked me in was very nice. She also answered the phone promptly when calling with a question before deciding to book. I called 2 other places before this one that did not / would not answer. Im in a non smoking room, single king bed. Room smelled fresh enough upon first entry. The room is actually quite large and there is a ton of floor space because theres basically nothing in the room. When I first entered the ac was off and it was pretty warm in the room but the ac cooled it off quickly enough once turned on. The provided desk/table is a permanent fixture and you get one chair and this really neat corner lounger chair thing. Big pads on it so it's comfy you can sit and use the table or turn a little and comfortably watch tv. I really like this feature, last motel 6 i stayed in had 1 single chair that was horribly uncomfortable. Might be tmi but the toilet seat is rather uncomfortable but that's perhaps a personal opinion. Another opinion, bed seems pretty comfy. There's a cieling fan in the room, which is neat, don't usually see those in hotels, however you can't adjust its speed which seems counter productive to even having a fan. One of the light switches turns it off. That's your only other option. The only lighting in the room is the 2 lights one on each side of the bed. They sufficiently light up the room but it's either both on or both off. Im near the far north end by the pool, wifi signal is a tad weak but internet speeds on my laptop where actually pretty good. Room has a microwave and fridge. Fridge was on and cold. The tv and remote works. No, this place isn't perfect but I think so many reviewers compare places like this to hotels that cost 2 or 3 times as much to stay at. Its clean enough and nice enough for the price I paid is why I give it 5 stars. My experience so far is actually better than expected. Hope this...
Read moreWe needed a stop over on a trip and this location was a halfway point. I booked based on other reviews and was not disappointed. This is an older motel, but they have done some really nice renovations and it works well. We stayed in room #214 and it was very large and super clean. When you walk in, you will be pleasantly surprised at the decor. This is not a traditional motel room. It is like walking back into the 70's. They have redone the room with a retro vibe. I have included some pictures to show what I mean. Bed was comfy. Shower worked great with plenty of hot water and adjustable showerhead. Room had a microwave and mini fridge. Bathroom was newly tiled and very clean. This motel was around 60.00 as compared to all the others in town at 100.00 per night. Do not worry about taking a chance on a cheaper motel if you are staying in Canton! Pool was functional and clean although it was too cold for us to enjoy it. I really liked the little mini dining area in the corner of the room. We arrived early and our room was not ready but the cleaning lady actually jumped to our room and got it done first for us. Amazing small town feel. Make sure you walk over and look at all of the metal art the gentleman has on display. No complaints on this review. I would make a couple of minor suggestions to the host. A coffee maker in the room would be nice as well as maybe another piece of furniture or two. The room had plenty of space for a small recliner or even...
