*WARNING THIS REVIEW IS LONG BUT WORTH READING UNLESS YOU DONT MIND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A FEW BED BUGS Well I get to the best western in canton Texas and the front desk lady greeted me she told me she was new and I told her what kind of room I needed for the night she took her time getting me checked in which after 20 mins between her responding to text messages and taking every call that came in on the front desk phone my 60 rate plus tax which is usually around 68$ I get my key and I’m off to my room yes the rooms appear nice and clean and creative I get inside go to the bathroom where I notice I have a and I quote mrs angel just a small leak that will probably stop she said it’s just the toilet above me that leaks sometimes and for me not to worry she will bring some extra towels and it will be fine which at this point I’m just in shock so she leaves in a hurry back to the front desk so I go to see on the bed and wait for her to return because I am not willing to stay in this room I’m thinking she will just move me to another room no big deal right well 30 mins go by and I go back to the front desk she is on her cell phone again and I say hey is there anyway I can just move to another room the leak is not ok with me especially since the reason it was leaking was someone who was staying there stopped up the toilet she said that she did not know how to do that without having to charge me for another night so I ask her to call mrs johnnie the manager there which she declined doing so I told her that was all she could do then I didn’t wanna stay anyways so I’m back to my room grabbing my stuff off the bed and I notice something odd which turned out to be bed bugs so thank you mrs angel for saving me the trouble and causing me to leave your fine establishment which I told her I was going to call corporate In the morning and write this review she informed me that I babbled to much that it would be best for me just to leave now mind you she will not refund my money and I wasn’t in the room 5 mins when I informed her of the leak so at this point I just said ok I can’t believe you would treat a long time customer that way she said that me writing a review will not bother her she said her and mrs johnnie will just write another good review about it for me not to worry. So guys believe me when I say this most reviews are written by friends and family members of the staff at best western in canton Texas so be warned every room there may not have a leak but the bed bugs might get a free stay off you if you spend your money to stay the night with the best western. This is the only best western I know that I have ever had any problem with maybe if they will start hiring people that know what there doing and have good Customer service and isn’t personal friends of the manger then maybe situations could be resolved if I could give them 0 stars then I would. ...
Read moreMid May, we called the 800 reservations number and asked for a 1st floor room since one of us is on a walker. We were guaranteed a 1st floor room. When we arrived the afternoon of May 23, 2025 we were given a 2nd floor room at the extreme far end from the elevator. The afternoon front desk girl (J) was completely unwilling to move us to a 1st floor room, or even to a room closer to the elevator on the 2nd floor. We asked if there were any rooms that even if booked, were not checked in... there were, but the front desk girl claimed to be unable to move us to one of them. When we did get to room she put us in, 222, the fridge was hot. It cooled off some overnight, but was hot again the next afternoon. Front desk was unwilling to send someone to swap it out. We were also unable to use the wifi all weekend, couldn't even get to the login page. I tried contacting the general manager, Akash Patel, but was unable to. I contacted BW customer support, and asked for management to contact me. Apparently management doesn't care... I still haven't been contacted by anybody a week later. I'm very, very disappointed by the way everyone at BW has mishandled this stay. We have stayed at this hotel several times in past years, but I will not likely book any more stays at any BW if this is the way I'll be treated. Akash, I'm still waiting for a call.
EDIT TO ADD: Akash, you will need to call me, I tried to contact you several times at the number you provided... it is the front desk number and I keep getting the incompetent girl that caused this whole mess. You should have my number unless...
Read moreIt was just supposed to be a quick overnight stay. You know, a pit stop on the way to somewhere else—nothing more. The Best Western in Canton looked decent enough. Clean lobby. Polite clerk. Free breakfast. But when they handed over the key to Room 202, the mood shifted.
The elevator creaked on the way up, though the building wasn’t that old. The hallway smelled faintly of bleach… and something else. Old perfume, maybe. The kind your great-grandmother wore before she passed.
Room 202 opened with a soft click, but the door stuck halfway. Like it didn’t want to open all the way. Inside, the air was still. Not just quiet—but still, like the room hadn’t taken a breath in years. The lamp on the nightstand flickered once before coming on. The clock radio was blinking 2:02—unplugged.
Weird.
The strangest part, though, was the phone. An old corded one. Not unusual—except it rang at 2:02 AM. Sharp. No one on the other end. Just static. And a whisper. Barely audible. Could’ve been wind. Could’ve been something else.
The next morning, the front desk clerk asked, “Everything alright in 202?”
When I asked why, she hesitated. “Most guests… don’t stay the full night in that one.”
She didn’t elaborate. She just handed me a receipt and said, “Have a safe trip.”
I never looked back. But I do still wonder—what happens in Room...
