We chose this hotel based on reviews and the information provided online. I did not expect fancy but to be greeted with an overwhelming smell of stinky food wafting in the hallways was not a good start. The lobby floors were lifting up, which we found odd since the building they said was only one year old. As we looked around there were all kinds of signs of bad workmanship on this property. There were several cracks on the walls and ceiling and the finishing work showed strong signs of shoddy work which quickly diminished any confidence that we may have had based on the description of this hotel. When entering the room the disappointment did not end. We have stayed in many hotels through the years but never have the sheets on the bed been so worn to the point of holes in both the pillow cases. According to the man at the front desk when I directly asked, he said, the hotel was only one year old and built in 2023. How are sheets that worn in one year, I asked? He apologized but could not give me an answer. How does a room attendant not notice holes in the sheets while making the bed? This was not a single hole, there were holes all over both cases! Not clean smelling. Super gross! Overall, all the work that I saw on the first floor, flooring, paint, plumbing and overall construction looked like it was thrown together by a crew that had little experience. Everything was off. We trusted nothing and started wondering if the building was even safe in its construction. We paid for two nights up front through Priceline so there were no refunds possible for us. We stayed the first night reluctantly because it was the end of the day and we drove a long way. We were tired. The experience was so disappointing that we left and headed home a day early and forfeited our 2nd night. We will...
Read moreMy husband and I drove in from Fort Davis TX. I forgot about the time change. Arrived at 2:45 (I thought)The man at the front desk was rude. Telling me check in was at 3. I asked do you want me to wait 15 minutes. Instead of telling me it was 1:45 he kept saying check in was at 3. Housekeeping had not notified him rooms were ready. Then he looked in the computer, He did have a room available. The carpet in the hallway was dirty and stained. The carpet in the room was even dirtier and had about a dozen roundish dark reddish brown stains (ketchup or blood???). The room phone did not work. We had booked two nights. The second day our room keys did not work when we came back in the afternoon. I walked back to the front desk, a very nice polite young lady checked and we had been checked-in with the incorrect check-out date (by the rude man). She could see we booked thru a 3rd party with the correct dates. She updated the system with correct dates and re-did the room key cards. We put a Do Not Disturb sign on our door handle the first day. The check-out time is 11. Housekeeping knocked and tried to come in at 9:30. Luckily I had the bar lock on and they could not get in. Why have a door hanger if it's not looked at? The towels were dingy and stained. I will not...
Read moreWe stayed one night at the Baymont Wyndham in Carlsbad, NM. One night was one too many. The problems started when we entered our room. There was coffee stains on the sheets, there were piles of pubic hairs on the bathroom floor, hair in the shower, and the shower faucet almost fell off. It was too late to go elsewhere, so we just dealt with the poor conditions. Then, at 2:30 am, the smoke alarm started chirping because the 9 volt battery was dead. The phone didn't work, so I had to get dressed and go down to the front desk. The attendant was nice but not helpful at all. She only suggested that I replace the battery myself. She gave me a battery so I went up and tried it. It was dead too. I went to the front desk a second time to get more batteries and finally found a good one. Finally got back to sleep around 3:45 am. The manager met me at the front desk the next morning as we were leaving and apologized. I asked if we could get some amount of refund. He finally agreed to give us a 10% refund, which was about $15 ... I cannot recommend Baymont Wyndham at all. The room was dirty and the service was terrible. ... the worst part of it all was this all happened on the very day of our 25th anniversary of our wedding. The hotel was...
