Candlewood Suites Carlsbad South by IHG — Hotel in Carlsbad

It's Carlsbad .... good and Bad a Oasis in SE New Mexico., part tourist town and mostly oilfield town, and the while town seems expensive ... its just part of the Univers in this oil boom area. I loved this hotel. As all candlewood no breakfast but the rooms extended stay always well , provisioned .... maybe bring buy a cheep wal mart sharp knife if you do cook chop veggies a lot, but otherwise good. Room cleaning 1 time a week ... isualy let the desk k ow if you wznt more. The cleaning a bit of a thing trash .aybe, but as said tell the desk and it gets done.

1 big big thing .... if stating over 30days NM thing ... you will not get yoyr taxes back, so if on your own dime and Pecos or carlsbad are both viable spots staying more than 30 days, Texas may be a better option.

The front desk -- amazing great people excellent helpful staff loved em 2x4x7.

Laundry ... I dint want to tell this ... its a amazing secret ...afraid everyone will fi ot up when I wish to stay again... they will do your laundry get ot back next day ... 10000% worth it weight in gold .... us I had a amazing Rate for the region oilfield budget

If in carlsbad and I an get a room its my go to... there are nicer newer extended stays ... but this place is very good, and for the money great great value.

Treated me well my 37 ish days there. A/c great. Internet not so good at first asked Front desk... 1st floor they fave me a ternary wifi and was good to go.

Now for some reason Verizin.. was a dead zone pretty much right there for my android galaxy phone my work iPhone was a little better but still not good service. A lot of bad Verizon set ice I the area especially going back and forth between 5g and 4g lte .... so...

We selected this hotel because it offers full kitchens and has an onsite laundry. They are an extended stay hotel, so their expectation is that guests stay multiple nights, which we did on our initial stay. Housekeeping is on a weekly basis. We returned towards the conclusion of our vacation for one night. The facilities at the hotel all proved to be most excellent. We were pleased that the guest laundry was complimentary. The staff was also very helpful and provided us with assistance on wifi and they also pointed us in the right direction for a restaurant for dining in town (Yellowbrix is yummy!). The reason I did not give more stars was because this is a non-smoking hotel but the smell of pot smoke seeped into our room from an adjacent room and was persistent in the late afternoon and early evenings. When I complained, they offered me a variety of air fresheners for our room. I would have preferred if they enforced their rules. Certainly, all the cigarette smokers were outside, even in unseasonably cold weather, so the "no smoking of cigarettes" is enforced, but not the pot smoking. Yuck. We did return to this same hotel for one night after we had visited Big Bend and then we stayed in a room on the first floor and didn't have any problems with pot smoke smell seeping into that room, so that was really very good and would warrant more stars, but the experience the first stay does cast a (stinky) cloud on this review. With every assignment that places me in the area of Carlsbad, NM, I am sure to stay at Candlewood Suites. I continue to return to Candlewood Suites due to the helpful and friendly Staff. Especially their Customer Relations Manager Michael who is always doing everything he can to insure a comfortable stay w/ Candlewood. The rest of the Staff are very friendly and helpful as well (with-in reason), but I don't know everyone's name. However, I did get to visit w/ the GM or Owner while sitting outside in the BBQ area, I explained that my stay has been very enjoyable, relaxing and that I have always returned to Candlewood Suites because of how nice all my stays there have been. This is an extended stay property so everyone will have a kitchenette, full size refrigerator and super clean, great smelling room, very clean bathroom, comfortable bed w/ fresh smelling linen. Room is sizable and has plenty of room to sprawl out and get comfortable. I have remained loyal to staying at Candlewood Suites because someone is always there and super friendly, willing to help and monitor the property as guests are sleeping, and helps you to feel safe. I will be back again at some point here in near future and will again stay at Candlewood. Thx to everyone for being there and making me feel like a valued guest.
