Birrieria Leo’s — Restaurant in Carlsbad

Dangerously good.

I pulled up late at night to a beat up food truck in a random ugly dirt lot shoved between big-chain hotels in a small town. A just-off-duty concrete worker still in his work clothes chatting away with the proprietor in Spanish, I knew this was where culinary magic happened.

The proprietor was easy to interface with, very friendly, and had me taste some of the food so I could request anything added. The food was packaged well.

I over-ordered, yet was powerless to leave any of it uneaten. I'm now left with two regrets: my stomach is too full, even writing this review the next morning, and I need some more right now but they're...

food was phenomenal. Seriously, every bite was incredible. And Leo—Just as amazing. He even surprised us with a little card magic show that totally made our night—it was the best!!

But it doesn’t stop there—my boyfriend accidentally left his wallet behind. Thankfully, we had mentioned where we were staying, and by some miracle, Leo personally showed up with the wallet. We were in shock!

Leo, you are freaking awesome. Thank you for the unforgettable experience and the warm welcome on our very first night...

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU LIKE GOOD FOOD!

On my first visit, the gentleman suggests I get a burrito... mind you I LOVE burritos... he says "try it free, you'll love it"

ON THAT ALONE! I bought it, the man was confident enough to give a free plate for a positive reaction. WELL GODAMN IT WAS DELICIOUS. I feel I should buy 5 plates just to give 5 positive reviews.
