If I lived in Carpinteria, this would be my go-to breakfast spot—alas, I was only in town for a wedding. By 8 a.m. the place was already buzzing, and when we drove past at 11 the outdoor tables were still full.
I had the Breakfast Sandwich on sourdough with egg, sausage, cheddar, caramelized onions, tomato, and arugula—an elevated take on a classic, and honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. Bonus points for the sourdough, which held everything together without being heavy. My mom loved her sandwich too, and my dad’s Avocado Toast (with tomato, shallots, lemon zest, and balsamic) needed some more seasoning, but was simple and fresh; add the optional egg if you want more richness.
We finished with a Pumpkin Sticky Bun, which tasted like pumpkin pie baked into a pastry—worth the trip alone. The bakery case is also full of croissants, muffins, and cookies if you need something to go.
The space is bright and welcoming inside, with a cozy fire pit outside that’s perfect on cool mornings. Between the creative menu, great execution, and lively but comfortable atmosphere, this is one of Carpinteria’s breakfast gems. 4.5 stars...
Read moreI love the Brass Bird Coffee and Kitchen. It checks all of the boxes: great flavorful food and beverages, wonderful fresh baked goods, tasty snacks and sandwiches, and a fabulous location with lots of free parking. The staff is very accommodating and friendly and they make wonderful drinks of all kinds served in a relaxed atmosphere. The outdoor patio is dog friendly, has great Wi-Fi reception (great place to work) and also has heaters and a nice fountain. It fits in perfectly with Carpinteria's relaxed small beach city charm. The menu is constantly changing with new seasonal food items, fresh new bakery selections, and seasonal beverages. There are several gluten free items to chose from and many organic choices as well. It is also a great place to enjoy a glass of wine or champagne, lunch or breakfast and when available brunch. I don't generally drink soft drinks but they make several house made sodas that are absolutely delicious without being too sweet. I particularly like the watermelon lime soda. When visiting Carpinteria make sure and visit this wonderful place. You will...
Read moreI love this place...if I lived a little closer, I'd be here all the time. I had the Smoked Salmon Toast. Beautiful and tasty. The bread was so good! My companion had the Breakfast BLT and he loved it. (I had a bite...so good. It had a yummy smokey flavor.) We also got espresso drinks; Me: Vanilla Mocha; He: the seasonal Havana Latte. They were both amazing. Can't go wrong when they're brewing Beacon coffee. They also have these housemade sparklers that sounded really good. Can't wait to go back and try other stuffs. This is an Order-at-the-Counter and take-a-seat place. The person taking our order was kind and generally great...even though the phone was ringing and there was just a lot going on. There is a ton of seating so even though there were a lot of people we did not have any trouble finding a place to sit....got a nice table near the fire pit. Everything about the experience...
