Mariscos Vallarta Seafood & Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Chattanooga

If you want an excellent mexican meal, Mariscos is one of the absolute best places to go in the Chattanooga area.

The ambiance is great, the food is flavorful and delicious, and the service is excellent.

We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. The music was inviting and set the mood for a great mexican meal. There is an abundance of fish and meat dishes available to choose from on the menu. The prices are fair and food is authentic Mexican fare, not your "grocery store fast food tacos and beans" but real platters of fish, rice, pork, chorizo, and vegetables.

That said, if you want a taco or enchilada, they have them, and they are delicious too, homemade, and served street style.

If you are adventurous, Mariscos also has their take on a Mexican style sushi that is spicy and delicious.

This is Latin cuisine at its best and gets a bonus El Gato "6th-Star" for an enjoyable meal and an excellent experience that doesnt break the pocketbook.

So we decided to try out vallartas today. I personally think the food was good. Service was good . Price was ok for a party of 4 adults and 4 children between 3-15 year old. My only reason for not giving more stars was the atmosphere. While we was eating we notice a group of people drinking and getting load and cursing at the bar area. I understand that people drink and can get load but the cursing part was unacceptable. The are families eating and trying to enjoy there food. But that wasn't possible when there screaming and cursing and just being to load. I'm sure there regular customers because they was calling out the bartender and other waitress and yet no 1 would do anything. Saw 1 manager just walk by and saw what was going on and just continued walking. We decided to get a box for are food and left. The Elote app was perfect. I just needed a little extra tajin, which they brought me. I had the marrow and shrimp. It was a bit light on the amount of marrow, but the amount of shrimp and sides for a $21 price point was completely reasonable. The only reason I won't get it next time is because there are so many more things on the menu I want to try.

My daughter got the pineapple stuffed with shrimp, octopus, and crab in a crema sauce. It was delightfully sweet and savory. It paired well with the rice and salad that is served with it.

My wife had a steak burrito, which was as good as the rest of the meal if unremarkable as a standard menu item.

We finished with churros and ice cream.
