July 2018 stay in Room 224 (King w shower). Not the spit & polish Hampton you expect for $129 plus tax a night. Room was very worn and dated looking- the carpet looked mashed down by years of stomping feet. No issues w mattress/bed (2 tiny square pillows were stingy, but comfy), sheets were low end, and could have read through them- everything seemed a bit threadbare. individual climate control worked well though room was uncomfortably warm when we entered. Room seemed clean. Night clerk, Bridget, could not have been more friendly even though we got in at 2:35am. However, the day crew was sub-par and surly. Distracted maid knocked once at 9:15am (checkout is 11am), which sounded like it was next door, and I yelled “Hello, we’re still in here,” and she STILL used her pass key to open the door. Didn’t yell,” housekeeping!” either, so half naked, assuming I had unwanted company, I reached for pepper spray. I had thrown the slide bolt that replaced the door chain, so that told her we were still there, and she muttered “oops, sorry,” and tried the next door. At 9:45am (breakfast goes until 10) the breakfast lady had let the waffle batter go empty, all the fruit gone (fruit and salmon? Is that a thing now?), and the greasy ring bologna-like sausage was cold, hard and greasy, the scrambled eggs were cold and congealed lumps (ran out of sterno?). I had my purse on the closest table, and she locked the door between me and my purse so I couldn’t watch it- my husband walked in and she acted like she was going to block him from getting juice. I asked her for waffle batter - all I wanted when we arrived the night before was a darn waffle and a cup of tea- and she didn’t get that for me until after 10, then I had to cook the waffle batter, which takes 3 minutes, all the while she was briskly sweeping imaginary crumbs and very real dust mites around the eating area, to put a point on the fact that she was done with us and she didn’t think she should have to be nice after 10:01am. Rude, rude, rude. Why she thought chasing us out was the right move I don’t know- we paid full price for a room, and got in terribly late, the hospitable thing would have been to be sure we had breakfast, not scramble to lock us out. I finally got my darn waffle, but she locked up before I found syrup so I just rubbed a little butter on it. Still good but not $129 good. It’s ironic that the employees were all wearing shirts that said, “Catch me at my best!” which is some promotion designed to remind them to give great customer service and remind customers to leave positive comment cards which were at the front desk. I left one, but I doubt it got to mgmt., as I saw the breakfast meanie eyeing it after I threw it in (unfolded and visible in a clear container). If everything else is full, stay here but don’t make this your first option. It’s not at all up to par with the brand - you can do better! I was told the Fairfield is new, so we’ll be going...
Read moreThe heated pool was very comfortable and warm. The Jets in the hot tub were fantastic. The pool area was large enough for our group of 13 to have a lot of fun. I liked the hot tub was very close to the pool to make it easier to watch little ones. The pool hours were longer than most hotels being 10am-midnight so we got to get swimming in when we got there late and again before checkout. We got two queen suites and they were clean and fully equipped with shower supplies and soaps. The beds were comfortable and the AC and heat were very effective and easy to adjust. The kids enjoyed some Scooby Doo on the cable before bed. The app was supposed to operate as my room key and let us go straight in. That didn't work at all. So don't plan on the app actually working. But the check in counter went perfectly fine and the lady gave us bags of water and snacks which was a lovely perk. They had a pack and play which was perfectly clean. That's a rare find at hotels. IYKYK The breakfast was fantastic. Cereal, two kinds of waffles with a variety of toppings, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, French toast sticks, a few different kinds of juice, yogurt, bananas, apples, I think toast and bagels and possibly even more I didn't even get to. Great coffee, too. The staff was all above and beyond friendly and helpful. We spilled two full drinks during breakfast and Angel I think it was very cheerfully cleaned them both up and was very kind. We always try our very best to be quiet but walking quietly is not in my children's wheel house of tricks. This is the first hotel in awhile where I haven't gotten a call to "be quiet we're getting noise complaints" so that was refreshing too. I'm really glad my husband was willing to pay a little more to stay here because it was worth it. Highlight of our little road trip in that it had everything you hope for in a hotel. And if you have little kids, you know the hotel is sometimes their favorite part 😆 they excelled. If you're looking for "luxury family" this fits the...
Read moreAn Exceptional Stay Defined by Outstanding Service I've had the pleasure of staying at this hotel almost three times consecutively, with many more visits anticipated, and each experience consistently reinforces its appeal. The customer service is, without a doubt, the highlight of this establishment. The front desk staff consistently exemplifies hospitality at its finest, demonstrating a genuine passion for their work that truly sets this hotel apart. Their dedication makes a significant difference in the overall guest experience, surpassing even the service found at many luxury chains. The hotel maintains a high standard of cleanliness throughout, with spotless rooms, hallways, and bathrooms. The breakfast offerings are hot and satisfying, providing a decent spread for a small-town hotel. Guests can enjoy a variety of hot options, including scrambled eggs, made-to-order omelets, and waffles, in addition to the standard cold selections. While the internet speed of 10 Mbps (even on premium Wi-Fi) is the only minor drawback, it's generally sufficient for most needs, such as streaming Netflix. However, it may be a bit slow for high-bandwidth activities like viewing large images or demanding security work. Each room is equipped with a refrigerator, and some also include microwaves, adding to the convenience. The hotel offers multiple entrances and ample parking, making arrivals and departures seamless. Furthermore, the air conditioning and hot water systems operate flawlessly, and guests will find a generous supply of clean towels. While the pillows are standard hotel fare, they are perfectly adequate. Overall, this hotel offers a great place to stay, especially for business travelers. While I would typically rate it a strong 4 out of 5, the simply superb customer service elevates my rating to a full 5 out of 5. It's truly a testament to the staff's commitment that their service exceeds expectations, even when compared to the most renowned...
