My husband and I went Tuesday evening to the AT&T store in Chillicothe Ohio. Our phones were paid in full he wanted to up grade to. iPhone 14 Pro Max and I wanted to upgrade to IPhone 14 Pro. We also both got watches because there were buy on get one free. Our salesperson talked to us about Direct TV we liked what we heard and thought we would go back next week and change from Spectrum to Direct TV. Our salesperson got our new phones took them out of the boxes and started the process to move what is on our old phones to the new ones. We did not see nor were we showed what kind the new phones were. After getting home my husband went to order cases for our new phones and looked at the back of the boxes and seen that my phone was a IPhone 14 not a IPhone 14 Pro. I called the next morning to Chillicothe and was told to bring it back and they would fix the issue. I get there and I am told that the manager has to approve it but not the one at the store they had to call Karla , they went back into a room came out and said that Karla ( I believe that was her name) wouldn’t waive the $55.00 restocking fee. I said this wasn’t my fault and we have been customers of AT&T for 20 plus years. If Karla can’t waive the $55.00 fee for us then who is she saving it for??? I was told they get a so much money that they can refund fees each month and I didn’t deserve one. Again this was not my fault and if 20 plus years is not deserving I don’t know who is!!!! Need less to say we won’t be changing to Direct TV because why would we want to be treated like this and reward the company with additional business. Read moreHad a recalled note 7 I purchased off Creigs List checked the imei and box number went in there and was told you have to have the original reciept I explained that when I used there soft Wear to transfer my stuff to the note 7 the contact information wasn't transferred. Was then told to contact Samsung who in turn referred me back to at&t. Well by researching and digging I was able to get in contact with the person who sold me the phone and got a copy of the original reciept went in to the at&t store and was told I wasn't the original purchaser of the phone. I told the guy that I had talked to Customer service who rotated my account that there wasn't any reason they couldn't exchange it . The manager just goffed at me and said we are not going to exchange your phone and wouldn't even look at the note on my account. Then when I got upset and said so your going to send me out of this store with a device that could potentaly be a bomb? Then he said I would have to leave and when I pulled my phone out to call Coustomer service he threatened to call the police on me. All I was trying to do is exchange a recalled device... I have been a Coustomer of AT&T for almost 30 years and have never been treated this poorly ever. Get with it AT&T or I'll take my business...
Read moreWent to AT&T recently for a pre-paid phone plan and was lied to from the start. It started becoming very clear to me between the 1st and 2nd week via repeated emails and messaging that somthing was wrong. Why would a pre-paid plan require a credit check? Why was I receiving conflicting bill amounts? I was told that 5G data is provided, I never got it. 4G was was all I ever received and then it was very poor. The constant repeating of unwanted contacts (emails- messages) never stopped. By the time my first and "last" bill came due in only 23 days, I was so sick of AT&T I couldn't stand it. While ending this mistake of going there, I had a conversation with the assistant manager about what had taken place and what I was told during my first visit and what was promised. It was a total waste of time. I would recommend avoiding AT&T and the chillicothe location until their held accountable. No part of the process should be hidden. Odd that there is never any info. provided on how to contact the district manager? Avoid or use extreme caution when entering their front doors. 2/13/25.
