From the moment we checked in until we checked out, we had a good experience. Actually, our good experience started a month before. We had booked the water park package for a weekend in February. On our way out of town, my daughter was injured and it was obvious we'd be going nowhere. I called the hotel and asked if we could postpone our reservation and they said, "Of course, no problem at all." We rebooked for a weekend in March. This time we set out of town a bit late and then had an unexpected stop on the way. We called to say we'd be late and again they said it was not a problem. We arrived to a friendly greeting from two desk clerks. They asked how the drive was, let us know where the pool and gym were and when breakfast was served. We went up to our very spacious and perfectly clean room (with microwave, fridge, coffee pot and ironing board). We went for a swim that night. The pool was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was nice as well, the gym impressive. We slept well. There were 4 nice pillows on each bed, a rarity. An extra blanket was found in the closet. (I like to sleep in a cool room). Breakfast was very nice. Lots of things to choose from. We made waffles! Everything was kept well stocked. Enough tables to go around. Newspapers handy to read. A fellow kept everything clean around us. The clerk at checkout was as friendly as the ones at check in. We will...
Read moreI rented the party room and pool for my daughters birthday party. When I pre-booked I was told no payment was required until the time/date of the event. Upon arrival, I was told they did not accept cash and that I could pay with a cc after I set up my party. As I’m decorating the Owner by the name of Walt Schmaucher began pacing the hallways in a very aggressive state. He then began to be disrespectful to his staff member in regards to my party discrepancies. He made the length of our party very uncomfortable, the party attendants were very uneasy due to the fact the children were being yelled at for a “wet floor” given it was in fact a pool party and a few children heard his aggressive actions towards the staff. As a 30 + year local to this town I have read stories about this man’s inhumane actions towards his staff (google will explain) but failed to believe it until I witnessed it with my own eyes. We were told we would be charged $3 a towel as part of a contract (that I was never presented with) we spent a matter of 3 hours in on this property and it was a horrible experience for my party and the staff working diligently to provide income for their families. There are plenty of other locations for hotel stays in our small community, please do not be subject to disrespectful actions at...
Read moreI hope I can add pictures of the huge stains on the carpet, (we all kept our shoes on), holes in the drapes, dirty bed linens (I’m not sure but looks like a chunky boogher on the bed skirt), chunks of hairballs around the pool, dirt caked in the corners of the bathroom, unidentifiable food between the mattress (I think may have been peanuts, sorry, I check for bedbugs wherever I stay), and followed by my $133 bill for the room. After seeing all this I went down to tell the man at the desk, I’m guessing that wasn’t the Robert everyone raves about on here, because he said “all I can do is tell the manager.” If I am complaining to get money off my room, I would have raised the roof while I was there, although I did mention it to the woman upon checkout, I did not want charged for the huge stains on the carpets. I got a “sorry.” While eating breakfast (the only up side to this stay was they had bacon!) I noticed the seats were stained up. I want to tell the owner, if you’re going to give 1 star rooms to guests, you should charge 1 star rates. Don’t stay in room 317! Obviously, other people who commented on here did not. (Edit: And what happened to the comfortable mattresses? Hampton Inn has the most comfortable pillow top mattresses. What they have now...
