UPDATE: After receiving the baffling response below from the restaurant, it's clear they need to learn basic math principles, business ethics, and tax laws. Please note - charging more than the allowed state and local sales tax is TAX FRAUD and illegal. Not to mention this is also stealing from your customers. 8.75% of $55.70 = $4.87 We were charged a total sales tax of $8.78 on a $55.70 bill...Even doing the most basic math out there, you can figure out that this is well above 8.75%. 15.76% of $55.70 = $8.78 So they charged us a sales tax of 15.76% (nearly 16% as I stated before). Current posted sales tax for College Park is 8% to 8.75% (local and state combined). Again, we asked for the additional amount to be removed from our bill but were refused. Because we already ate, we paid and left. This seems like a small amount of money to take from a customer, but imagine what that number could amount to if they do this to every customer. Be ware all. Check the taxes they put on the receipt and make sure it's not more than 8.75% before you pay! We've been coming here for years and will absolutely NOT be returning. ORIGINAL REVIEW: After dining in, we were charged nearly 16% sales tax! State and local for College Park should be 8.75% total. We complained and asked for the doubled tax to be removed and were refused. We paid and tipped the server well, but will not be returning. Very disappointing because we've loved this place for years.

SOOOOO disappointed! We were introduced to Zab-e-Lee during Covid by a great friend. Their recommendation didn't disappoint HOWEVER today's visit did. My husband and I intended to grab takeout and have 'date night' on our porch since we were kid free. Well, we got home opened our ordered food-the shrimp chow mein (recommendation from the restaurant when he requested something similar to LoMein), garlic pepper chicken and a salmon roll. Nothing looked appealing. The noodles LOOKED mushy and they were. The Garlic pepper chicken (described as having vegetables, had carrots, baby carrots and bean sprouts and no garlic topping). The included white rice was visibly mushy and tasted as mushy as it looked. The salmon roll was thrown together and really not as fantastic looking as we are used to. Nonetheless, this is it...we will not be patronizingthis restaurant again. I took to reading the reviews and it's sad that the 'negative' reviews are super believable ESPECIALLY after this experience. From roaches in dishes, to bad service, to flavorless unappealing food...this is it. I tasted the food, which was VERY LUKEWARM (We live close by and our take out from here is always hot after pickup) and definitely did not taste like the Zab-E-Lee that we've recommended to so many.

I decided on delivery and found this menu to be expansive! I ordered the duck pho, tempura, spicy basil combo noodles, spicy Tom Yum chicken soup, and a Thai iced tea. First off, my spicy basil combo noodles were missing entirely! So I was already not happy with the experience. I tried the Tom Yum soup that I wanted spicy, and it wasn't even spicy. It was so underwhelming, and the flavors didn't come together without thay heat. Surprisingly, my duck was crispy and wasn't bad, but the pho broth could have used more seasoning. Although the fresh herbs and mix ins should enhance the flavor, it fell flat. By the time I opened the tempura, it was soggy and didn't survive the trip. This means the coating wasn't crispy. For the price that was spent, it wasn't worth it. However, the food is edible. After reading the review about the roaches and uncleanness, this will be my first and last order from here. Now, it had me questioning if the food I received was roach free and clean before it was packed into the containers. Either way, I won't be ordering from here again.

The Zab-E-Lee experience is something like walking into Harry Potter's Leaky Cauldron. As you step from nearly a completely empty parking lot lined with storefronts (so entirely unimpressive as to make one ponder at what a negative imagination scale might be like) into a comfortable, quaint, Asian-themed restaurant so starkly contrasted with its surroundings in terms of visual appeal, aroma, and geographical feel, you might experience all the effects of a physio-temporal shift akin to stepping out of a souped up Delorean after a ride at 88 mph.

One of the dangers of Zab-E-Lee is returning repeatedly, only to find yourself ordering the same thing you ordered on your first visit every time. You probably thought to yourself, "This is the best I've ever tried. This is my place for ." If you do this, you're missing out on a lot of good , , and my favorite, . Although a simple system of darts (for the unskilled player) might produce a sufficiently random meal choice that will always produce a delicious selection at this particular restaurant, I instead suggest complex algorithm based on the lint pattern of your pocket. Reason being is I don't want to someday find myself eating there with a dart stuck in me because you took me literally.

Service has always been reasonably efficient and friendly. It may take a few minutes to seat your unreasonably large group, but they work hard to accommodate you. Don't sit there for half an hour like a fool, getting angry that they haven't taken care of your check for you. Go up to the cashier and tell them what you had.

Conclusion: Don't eat at Zab-E-Lee. You'll make it harder for me...

My second time ordering from this place, last night, the service was horrible. I had family come from out of town, who, wee hungry. I bragged about this place and suggested we order from here. We had two desperate orders. The first order was chicken wings and combo rice with no or carrots. The second was this friend rice with just shrimp and two orders of sushi. The first order, there wasnt any chicken wings. That was the only thing my family ordered. The restaurant was closed, so my sister didn't have anything to eat. To top it off, they gave the second order, all, combo rice with just chicken and shrimp. The second order should have been two thai fried rice with just shrimp. I am allergic to chicken. I couldn't even touch the food. This afternoon, I call, and the owner, Sarah, only, offered me 15% off my next order. After, already, wasting my money on food, I couldn't eat last night and disappointing my guests. Her logic was to bring in the food from last night to trade for them to make the correct order. Anyone, who, is allergic knows that you can't keep food in the house, that you are allergic to. The manager owner refused to rectify or resolve the issue.. Basically, took my money last night, gave me all the wrong order, and this afternoon, basically, shrugged her shoulders with a 15% off my next order. The food here is not cheap, when it comes to price, 15% will, barely, cover tax. I would be a fool to spend my money here, again, considering the lack of consistency, and the horrible...

DO NOT TRUST THESE REVIEWS. We came in from out of town. According to these reviews this restaurant is great but we had a very different experience. When we arrived there was no one in the restaurant, we were the first customers for the evening. My friend ordered pad thai and shrimp and it tasted pretty okay. I ordered the stir fry brocolli with shrimp and decided to add the scallops since they were $3. I only wanted a little of sauce. The scallops came out raw in the bath of sauce that was served. Our waitress never checked on us so we went 25 minutes before they asked if we wanted dessert. I told them by that point I didn't want dessert and wanted the scallops removed since I scooped all of them out and put then to the side uneaten. They said they could only give me a new order, not remove which I accepted. The waiter (someone different) came out and recieved the old food then came back out less than one minute later with scallops in the sauce that was just on my plate. I hate taken a weird bite out of one of my scallops and saw that exact one floating at the top of the sauce. When I voiced the issue to the person that ended up being the manager she removed the scallops finally. It was a truly terrible experience considering there were only FIVE people in total in the restaurant and three servers. DO NOT COME HERE. IT IS TERRIBLE. For my experience I would give one star.

Also the restaurant is extremely warm and has an...
